Grand Palladium Jamaica - Larry, Suelyn & Family
So we had a great week overall !
The positives first
1) property is beautiful and well maintained
2) bars easily accessible
3) flavored waters or alcohol on arrival
4) our room was beautiful, first floor on the peninsula so basically ocean all around us plus adult pool and bar outside our patio
5) easy access to ocean and ocean beach area very nice, no worries in swimming or floating, kids snorkeled
6) coffee and dessert bar lovely -we went everyday
7) seafood restaurant was excellent and open air by beach but we had to pay extra $35 a piece for lobster
8) sports bar was pretty cool but again you had to be dressed to enter, we couldn’t just go in in our coverups
9) kids enjoyed scuba diving albeit we had issues getting a dive master onsite
10) boys golfed off-site and had no issues and a good time, taxi waited for them
11) am star transportation was good with a nice stop on way with booze and jerk, was starving lol
Negatives ( food probably due to covid)
1) only food in beach area was jerk chix and rice, everyday
2) property is massive and up and down terrain, way too far to walk to get to anything
3) food was mediocre, no fresh fruit or salads
4) no easy grab and go food, we had lunch delivered three times at $10 delivery fee because we missed the short lunch buffet hours and don’t prefer to get dressed for lunch, we actually ordered breakfast once too and it took so long that we got nothing we ordered.
5) dinner every evening was atleast a three hour ordeal, way understaffed especially breakfast buffet, food cold until you got what you wanted
6) water sports, not only did it take us two days to figure out how to get there but then the only thing included was the kayaks and paddleboards
All others way over priced per person!!!
7) no fun beach activities games etc, no shows
Just a DJ every night
Now we understand the covid and limitations but seriously for the price we paid I expected a bit more
Especially for a family excursion
Not complaining though
We did it!! Ha ha
