We stayed at Resort Euphoria 12/26-12/29 '04.
We'd read about it online and emailed the management before we went.
It appeared as thought Resort Euphoria used to be
on the cliff side of the road, but recently moved to across the road from the
cliff side.
We got a great price and tried to not get our
hopes up, knowing it was not ocean view, water access, smaller property, etc.
This property has great potential, but it is not
there yet. Part of our disappointment had to do with the fact that we
were basically the only guests there. The rooms are Ok, nice balconies.
The pool is great, strongest thing the property has going for it.
We were the only nudists present during our stay.
We were nearly the only guests present. There was a large family there,
complete with a load of kids, and they used the pool area for part of our
stay. Since none of them ever got nude, we decided to head elsewhere for
that time (off property).
The property itself is called "Sea Point", Resort
Euphoria is just a marketing name. It is a good location - just
past the Rockhouse, just across from Coral Seas.
We had been told that we had the option of all
inclusive, but having been to Negril numerous times, we knew we wanted to keep
our options open. Luckily so. We'd been told we could order a la
carte from the bar or restuarant, but the bar was closed the entire time we
were there (due to low occupancy I guess). The bar is in a covered deck
area right next to the pool and could be really cool. The restuarant was
running, but no one ever offered us a menu or anything, seemed to mainly be
for the staff.
If you went with a large (or even medium sized)
group, you could take over the whole property and have a blast. As I
said, it was very low priced.
There were a bunch of locals (taxi drivers mainly)
who kind of hung out on the property, making it kind of not conducive to
nudity.
As for whether we would return. We had an Ok
time. Of the 4 properties we stayed at in Negril this trip (Rockhouse
-Ok, not really fair, Fun Holiday, and Firefly), Resort Euphoria/Sea Point
was by far the lowest rated, however it was also the cheapest.
Main problem was that we picked it for the nudist environment, and it didn't
really have that. We sunbathed nude at the pool and it was nice, but we
were all by ourselves. Then the clothed family showed up and that kind
of put a damper on things. The website claims that nudity is required at
the pool; I am sure it really depends on the crowd in reality. We would not
return at things stand - if the owner put some changes into place, like having
the bar open, enforcing nudity at the pool, etc, we would consider a
return.
Check out the website for pictures - however be
very wary of trip reports, as most of them that are out there are from when
the resort waterfront before they moved. This resort is across the
street and not really any water view to speak of (we realized this going in
and were still disappointed). resorteuphoria.com
