DennyP Travel: Message Board Information

  1. You can control & configure many personal options & preferences. Click on the "My Stuff" link in the navigation area above the message board information. Then click on Edit Profile or Edit Preferences.

  2. There are several styles to choose from to display how your screen looks. You can change from the default style by scrolling to the very bottom of the message board pages and selecting a theme from the drop down box on the left side.

  3. There is a lot of message board access information to be found in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) which can be accessed from the main navigation strip at the top of the message board pages.

  4. No personal images or avatars are allowed.

  5. Be sure to read the "Shout" area rules before using that area.

  6. If you use the Search function, you might want to check the Advanced settings. Otherwise all forums will be searched with a default search window of 1 week.

  7. Use the "breadcrumb" list of links above the navigation bar to go backwards in the chain of pages that you transversed to get to where you are currently positioned.

  8. There is a "Top" link at the bottom right of message code pages to quickly get to the top of long pages. There is also a "Top" link at the left bottom of every individual message.

  9. You can use the Forum Options tab at the top of the list of forum topics and the Topic Options tab at the top of the list of messages for a topic to "watch" that forum or topic and have an email sent to you when something is added to that forum or topic. You also have to enable the "By default should anything added to your Watch Lists be emailed to you?" found in your Edit Preference settings under "My Stuff". You can use the "Watch Lists" link in "My Stuff" to see what you are watching and to turn off the watches if you care to.

  10. A summary of new topics and new posts can be found on the left side column at the bottom - unless you have turned off the left side from displaying.

  11. When replying to a posting, click on the Reply or Quick Reply for the actual posting that you are replying to. The new software will list to which member name you are replying. If you automatically just click on the last posting but it is not actually the one you are replying to, the message board will show an incorrect reference.

  12. At this time Avatars are not enabled.
