Chazo, that is a very well stated post and your points are very valid. You have accurately identified the niche for the new resort. Perhaps the SuperFun name will be modified. I was never that fond of the Hedonism name. I had rather that the resort remain Negril Beach Village. But that is history.

Chazo does raise some interesting points, but to me the major differences with Sandals and Couples is that the bulk of their resorts either have - 1) nude areas and/or 2) a great beach (prude or nude) or 3) exchange prviliges with nearby sister resorts that have #1 & #2 or both. SuperFun obviously does not have any nice beach areas, has said there will be no nude areas (at least that is the lastest 'nude policy du jour') and it remains to be seen if there will be an free exchange with Breezes Runaway Bay or Breezes Rio Bueno but it seems unlikely since many of us are presuming SuperFun will be priced lower. I should be interesting to see how it all falls into place. I honestly hope it works out since I like my SuperClubs vacations and wish them well. Roy

SuperFun obviously does not have any nice beach areas... Roy We disagree. Although we hear that sentiment over and over again about the prude beach at Hedo III, WE think the prude beach at Hedo III is actually very NICE. It's long, wide, gently sloping into the water, clean, with soft sand, in a protected harbour, with a clear sandy bottom, and perfect for wading and rafting. In our opinion the reason the Hedo III prude beach is not enjoyed by more people is 1) the majority of people at Hedo III want to be on the nude side, 2) since the majority are on the nude side, those who like to be where the action is are also on the nude side, so very few people are on the prude beach, which results in only those who don't want to get naked and those who like the peace & quiet of an almost empty beach being on the prude beach, and 3) there is not enough shade on the prude beach even for the few who want to be on that beach, so those who don't want to sit out in the blazing sun on a bare expanse of hot sand don't want to be there either. Again in our opinion, when the whole resort becomes "prude", reason # 1 will no longer exist so many more people will take advantage of the space offered by the former prude beach, which will then remove reason # 2 for crowding into the tiny former nude area. And then, with a little bit of money, the # 3 issue can be eliminated with the addition of more palm trees and lots of permanent palm-frond "umbrellas" (sorry, they've got to have a name, but we have no idea what they're really called) which will create the needed shade and "structure" (a term anglers will understand) which will attract people to the former prude beach.

Ottawa_Cuple, The prude beach at hedo III did not seem 'long' or 'wide' to me, but it is a matter of perspective I know. It seemed rather small and just not that nice to me. I have only been there a few times though and did not spend my time on that beach. I did look at it every day and take some pictures of it though and when I was there is was not as nice as when you were there. Beaches do change though, sometimes dramatically over a fairly short period of time. Maybe our visits to Hedo III were just always at one of those not-so-nice times. Will you still go to SuperFun after it changes from Hedo III? Roy

Ottawa_Cuple,... Will you still go to SuperFun after it changes from Hedo III? Roy Not likely in the near future. We enjoy being nekkid too much. We'll be sticking to Hedo II, Desire, Caliente and other c/o resorts until we no longer want the option of being nude (is it wrong to be nekkid in public when you're 80-something??? :D)

I enjoyed that conversations I had with a couple at H2 that were in their mid 90s on the nude beach. Wisdom. And they were always holding hands.

We've been to Couples Negril more than any other (including Couples Tower Island, Braco, H2 and soon, Breezes Negril). Couples has found a nice niche I think with couples only, and three of their four resorts have an A/N option. Most of the people we've met on the A/N parts of CN and Couples Tower Island are multi-repeaters, so clearly there is a draw for those who want couples only, nude option, and no intimidation from too wild a party atmosphere.
We would not go to Superfun because 1) there is no nude option and 2) the whole thing seems like a bit of a punt for Superclubs. If we can go to Breezes Negril for less than $200US per couple per night, and sit on Bloody Bay watching the sun set, why would we go to Superfun? And if it's too quiet, you can always walk 100 feet and pay for a pass at H2.

SuperFun Resort will not be a success. It will fail or be greatly transmogrified into a different place within 12 months of opening. There will be a flurry of business there at times due to substantial rate cuts by SuperClubs to folks who (obviously) haven't been there before. But reports from the front (if any) will be uniformly "bleah" and repeat visitors will be minimal. You heard it here first...

it will indeed be interesting to see what "niche" the SuperFun Resort will find in 3-5 years (assuming it is still around).
I sometimes have trouble finding rooms available on the beach in San Diego in a non-clothing optional, non-all inclusive, tipping expected, fairly plain resort costing $300 a night when the water is too cold to swim in. Properties like this are full because there are people who want that. There could be a market for SuperFun, too. But obviously not among the niche of people who frequent this message board.
There are already some weeks in 2011 where some room categories are sold out at SuperFun. I am keeping my eye on that. Of course one room category does not reflect the entire resort. But it does show some early interest.

IF we get any reports for Denny to post. I find it interesting that trip reports for Hedo III this year total ONE.

So, who's going to be there on the last day (with a crowbar) to collect a few souvenirs? We could yet see the Hedo III sign selling on E-Bay (well, SuperClubs won't be needing it)...

Has anyone seen the advertising / media blitz for the new resort?
I didn't think so.
I bet they could get a little free publicity and raise a little $ by selling the mirrors from above the beds on EBay. . .
(Yeah, I am a marketing genius...I know)

"So i suggest...bingo night......."
We were there in June. During one of the afternoon games sessions they played a traditional Jamaican game and Blackjack (which they did not know how to play, BTW). Among all of the stuff they set out for the games was, you guessed it, a bingo basket. They didn't start a bingo game, but they were clearly prepared for one.

I know this is off topic, but on serious rainy days/afternoons at h2, the bingo game was a given event. Had lots of participation.

Well, Zork, again off topic as this is a forum is not about H2, the bingo game takes place in the main dining room and being clothed is appropriate. Besides, how would strip bingo work? Would the winner strip or all the losers?

I deleted a recent post because specific prices were posted. Additionally, the prices quoted were incorrect. They did not take into account a current sale.
