Common fears of men going to Hedo the first time

Hi,
I'm trying to convince my bf to go to hedo. I've been there before but he hasn't. He kind of wavers back and forth. i'm sure he'll have a great time once he's down there but he won't tell me what he's worried about. The only thing I can think of is that he is self concious of the size of his "equipment". Would it be a mistake to try and convince him to go?
Thanks in advance :-)

Well, what a lot of guys do is this.... we let our bellies grow to the point where we can no longer see our penis. Problem solved! Ok, more seriously... Normally when it comes to the first trip to Hedo it is the guy trying to convince the female to go to Hedo, try being nude, etc.... Guys don't really spend much time looking at other guys stuff, but as my wife tells me... they all look silly so don't worry about it! A favorite quote for my wife comes from Elaine on Seinfeld who said, "I don't know how you guys walk around with those things!". In response I say, ladies.... it's not easy! Go and have fun! Tell him to start out in the hot tub in the evening. Once he realizes that it just doesn't matter he will be ready to go in the daylight the next day. All the best- Roy

Maybe he doesn't have a tan can and is fearful of the dreaded COTTONTAIL syndrome...

The landscape of "equipment" at Hedo II is so diverse, both male and female, that all the flesh just blends together. It's common for new people to the nude area to think that everyone is focused on them, but that's not the reality. If it turns out to be a struggle at first for him being on the nude side, there is a nice beach on the prude side and plenty of "clothed" activities to do at Hedo II (and the surrounding area) to still have a great vacation.
By the way, I think that it's refreshing that the gf is one promoting the Hedo II trip.
Respect,

I didn't have any fears before going the first time. Ok, maybe I was concerned my toga costume would suck but that's generally because I'm not really creative in crafts type stuff anyways.
I would say that going to Hedo is all about trust and respect first. Having a great time comes as a result of that.
So I'd say only you can communicate with your BF and come to a point of either mutually deciding to go or just letting it go.

I am what I would consider an average sized guy, and would tell him that "equipment size" is nothing to be concerned about. It's all about having a good time in the sun, good food and drinks and the laid back Hedo atmosphere with both old and new friends. Having been there quite a few times, I would say that the only people who really stand out are the ones who are those who are obnoxious or otherwise disrespectful. Aside from that, everyone is on the common ground of being there for a good time, regardless of how they are built.

It may not be the size of his equipment.
I've had beaux not want to go because of the sordid reputation of the resort. They were prissy. One didn't want my nakedness to be seen by other men (and broke up with me because I went). One was worried he'd be out of control sexually, possibly walking around with wood all day. One didn't want to look at our fat, wrinkly bodies.
So many reasons...so many past beaux. Glad I met my husband at Hedo so traveling to Hedo is a non-issue.

My history with men and hedo has been similar to what Chris described - one couldn't imagine having others see things that only he saw and others just don't understand the environment (thought it was completely out of control).
I would recommend giving him Chris's book to read - it is a mixture of funny and good information.
Knock on wood (grin) my current guy, who I met this month through match.com, is ok with hedo - he had been there years ago. Being ok with hedo is one of my dating requirements nowadays, can't stop going 'home', but it can add a hurdle in an already challenging dating scene.

I used to think I'd have a problem walking around all "excited" all the time and that might be embarrassing. For whatever reason, this does not happen.
I guess once you get there for that first trip you soon learn the difference between nudism and sexuality.

Get him there once, and it will never be a problem again. Guaranteed.

there are lots of reasons for someone to be reticent.. not just the one you suggested... its important to talk about these things and set some "ground" rules on what is ok ... and what is not.

It might not be about his "equipment", the nudity, or the atmosphere at all. Trying to convince someone to do something they really don't feel comfortable with or don't want to do, is a prescription for bad things in any relationship. Suggest you have a long heart to heart talk and listen to his concerns, to be sure you don't have some other issues going on between you.

Thanks for all of the comments guys, it is really appreciated! :-)
I had a good talk with my bf and it is a combination of several of the things mention above (especially walking around with "wood" all day long).
I guess what really peeked his interest in going was that the dates we were thinking of going had the "fantasy girls extreme" LOL.
Thanks for all of the comments and maybe we'll see you down there :-)

As stated many times before ... "The most popular guy at Hedo is the one that can carry two cups of coffee and twelve doughnuts at the same time, the most popular girl is the one that can eat that last doughnut without using her hands!"
If "wood" becomes a problem, then realize there is always a place to hang your towel on.

We dont remember the people we met at Hedo for the size of his or her equipment. People more remembered for their openness, fun side and friendliness.

There are growers and there are show-ers. I'm a grower and it makes nude scuba a little more comfortable.
The only ones that get any attention are the really large ones, and they have to suffer through (no personal experience). Other than that, some guys add blinking LEDs...
Two days back after # 22.

Dave It's a good look, especially under a transparent toga for toga night... trust me, I've done it... And size is relative and don't mean a damn thing... Units are more likely to be remembered by things like if they have a Prince Albert (we all winced every time he walked by...)

Cindy, guys who are worried about some wood will find that it disappears in a few minutes unless you otherwise provide some motivation.
My perspective: wood at H2 (as temporary as it can be) is an opportunity and not a problem.
Can always jump into the bar pool or roll over on the sand or lounger.
Wood, when it occasionally occurs, is not an issue (actually is rare unless ...motivated). Size is not an issue. Scars a not a problem, body hair or the lack of it is not a problem.
Just go, Chuck
