Just got back from Hedo II and wanted to briefly express that Hedo II is better than ever. Everyone in our party had a great time with no problems to report regarding our rooms, food, etc. Everything was perfect.
Denny and everyone I need to cut this post short and I'm passing on doing a trip report for this trip as we got home to find out that there was a death in the family while we were gone, so I'm back on a plane tomorrow to fly out of state for a few weeks to attend the service and tie up some loose ends.
I'll conclude by saying that if you have travel plans to go to Hedo II in the near future, you'll have a great time and the management & staff at Hedo II will treat you extremely well.
Respect,

I can't help but smile at the evolution of this board over the years. When Hedo was at its worst, which would be pretty much during the 90's, I was very critical of the physical plant. Windows didn't work, toilets didn't flush, showers were either ice cold, or had no pressure, or both. The food was OK, in that you could find something edible, but it wasn't very good. This was in an era where the nightly cost was higher than now.
That being said, I was criticized rather soundly by others on this board. "We don't come here for hot water or good food!!! We come for our friends!!! Yeah, I did too, but I couldn't help but think that the hotel owes me at least a base level of good service.
Years have gone by and I have to confess that I love Hedo II! The rooms are clean, the food is great and, to me, the prices are excellent. I'm used to paying $8 for a drink in Saratoga Springs, NY. I guzzle Crown Royal when I'm at Hedo. I have lobster, beef, lamb, and jerk chicken. Life is good!
Last June I went to Braco and the food choices were very limited. The room was poorly maintained- just loved the condensation dripping on my pillow from the ceiling. Hedo, the "old" resort, beats the ship out of Braco! Irie to all!

Good to hear all is good. I sure hope the piano bar is still one the places to be at night. Can not wait for the Jerk on the beach. And the chicken too.

Crown has been hit and miss on our last couple of trips also...our best luck has been in the piano bar!

Echo the Crown is hit and miss! We did see Jeager Meister intermitently at the Piano Bar. Also as a reccomendation, Tam drinks Captain Morgan at home. She found a new best friend in Caruba, a Jamaican Spiced Rum. She loved it!
The rooms and the showers were the best I have ever seen! The grounds are also at the top of their game as well! We had zero complaints about the Physical Property at all on this trip!

Thank you Tam for the kind words. If we lived in Florida, we would be applying to be Space Coast Hedonists for sure. Sounds like a fun group.
I'm still tied up dealing with personal issues, but needed a brief positive diversion by checking out the message board. It's great to hear from reading Dnt's post in this thread and from Troy and Olive's insightful trip report that other folks who stayed at Hedo II during the late February/early March time frame had a similar positive experience. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Troy and Olive during our stay, but our trips must have overlapped and what they describe in their trip report was our experience as well.
Our stay at Hedo II was at the tail end of the Fluffernutters' stay and the week after. Although our group generally attempts to be at Hedo II when big groups are not present, I would like to compliment the Fluffernutters because we met some exceptionally nice people from their group.
Our 2010 Hedo II trip is now over for the year and we have some great memories. For those of you that are lucky enough to still have your 2010 Hedo II trip (or trips) ahead of you, if you follow Denny’s advice and go with a positive attitude, you can look forward to having the time of your life.
Respect,

I have found Crown at the main bar, the piano bar and the disco bar. The beach bars usually don't have it. My best source was the main bar last November, but it was the piano bar on the trip before that. During the day I prefer the "bite" of CC or VO, but Crown at night is smoother.

Any one back know if the engine is fixed on the ski boat? It was broke down in November.
