Young Newbie, Need some insight on Hedonism II

Okay, so I am about to book my trip to Hedonism II, I was convinced by my best friend to go as it was going to be an "experience." I'm a bit of a closet freak (embarrassed to say that right now), but very new to this whole nudist, swinging, lets just say everything freaky. And while I'm certainly a prude sometimes, I don't mind exploring the wild side of life. So I'd like to get some insight on how hedonism II is like, especially for a twenty something. I'm 23 year single male and this will be my first time 'exploring' this world. LOL
Also, what do I bring when I get there? LOL I know most of the resort is clothing optional but what is the norm especially with the nightlife? I have more questions but I'll save them till I get more answers and insight.
Thanks, GQ

It is not true that 'most of the resort is clothing optional' rather it is a resort with a nude section. Granted, most of the resort folks are in that zone, but there is plenty of space for those who do not go to H2 for a nude experience.
What to wear for nightwear: t-shirts/polo-style shirts/very casual button-up shirts and shorts/long pants and some sort of footwear. Evenings can include (besides dinner) the evening main-room show, the disco, the piano bar. Some make a trip to the nude hottub around midnight (or so).
About swinging: H2 is not a sex club masking as a resort. In my experience, it is an eclectic mix of nudists, non-nudists, swingers, non-swingers, singles and couples. Granted some folks do go to H2 as swingers but I would say that swinging is not the main 'theme' of the resort nor the majority of the resort folks (my experience). I go to reconnect with my wife, meet with old friends and make new friends and, of course, scuba.
Most of the folks that go to H2 are couples. Of the singles, guys generally outnumber gals by a huge amount (say 5 to 1).
While the age of folks at H2 is not all that important, you will find yourself on the younger side of the age profile.
Others will probably say this better than me: just because you see a gal or talk to a gal who is nude, this does NOT imply she is open to groping, immediate casual sex, threesomes or more-somes or 'everything freaky.' Do not expect an orgy around every corner. If your goal of your H2 vacation is hooking-up again and again, you will probably not have a good time.
Single guys can have a great time if they are not pushy, show some sense of humor, participate in some of the daytime games, and spend time to get to know folks.
There are several trip reports posted here by single guys, so spend time having a read thru them. There is good advice there.
edited to add: when you decide on your travel dates, do post them on Denny's visitor schedule.
Chuck

However, most of the rooms are on the nude side.

Well in all honesty its my goal to hookup in every vacation I go to, even if it wasn't Hedonism, however I don't let that aspect completely engulf my vacation. I want to know what to expect, before I get...I guess you can say culture shock. I read this report from Paul Katcher online ( http://paulkatcher.com/hedonismii_report.shtml). It seems like it was a wild time. I'll keep a look out of other reports too. It'll be an experience, I can't wait but I'm very nervous about it too LOL.

Suggest you read the trip reports on this site as they will probably answer most of your questions.

What ever you decide, don't script your visit because you may be dissappointed. If you are a regular guy at home who is RESPECTFUL, then maybe you may find what you are looking for just don't get yourself all hyped up from some trip reports you have read. Everyones experience at Hedo is unique to that person or couple. We have met people from there 20's to 70's and they are all great people to hang & party with, sex should not be expected remember that. But have a great time, this is our 3rd trip and we can't wait.

Maybe Paul Katcher can give you a refund of your trip costs if your trip does not measure up to his "report"? In are seriousness, you will probably be the youngest person there (not to mention being a single male). Not trying to rain on your parade...just being realistic.

wouldnt it be nice to be 23 again? Welcome to hedo my friend, and I can only tell you how incredibly jealous I am that you get to discover it at age 23. I only wish i could have found it so much earlier in my own life. its a tonic for all that ails you, and I have no doubt you will have a great time. A couple of things to be aware of about the hedo vibe. There are a lot of single guys around, and not very many single women (usually). Of course your mileage may vary. An old (ok, not THAT old) friend of mine, and our resident author of The Naked Truth about hedonism (which you can buy as an ebook these days at www.wordcrafting.com {shameless plug over}) says "if you want to get laid at hedo...bring the condoms, and the girl....because hedo wont provide either" this is a pretty true statement. At hedo you get included in your purchase, Sun, booze, food, party time atmosphere, and the best people around with whom to share these wonderful things. If you go with the attitude you will have a blast, and expect nothing other than having a blast.....you will have a blast. if you go expecting a non-stop orgy with an engraved invitation for you, you will likely struggle at hedo. Ive seen more than one young man disappointed that hedo is not the smorgasbord that some of the (playboy) media presents it as!! Go to HEDO, relax, have fun, and realize hedo is a great place to have fun, and a great place to meet people......do this, and everything else will take care of itself.

Offshore is correct. Be respectful, fun and courteous to all. Single males that I know, who have behaved this way, did all right, however, it can be a long week if you are not the apple of anyone's eye.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, Boston Mike is right about the whole Playboy media thing. I've read articles on Askmen.com and other sites that elude to a Utopian World of frivolous activities and PDA's that is H2, but at the same time that's why I posted this, because I feel like most of what is written isn't true. As for Paul Katcher's article, I can't help but wonder if its true...but it certainly sounds like he padded his story.
Yeah, youngest is right. That's another thing that I'm afraid of. While not being able to find others within my age range isn't much of a problem, I am concerned about judgements or impressions thought up by older people. (Sorry, not to say you guys are old). What I'm saying is I just don't want people to pass judgement because of my age. LOL While, yes I like to party and have a good time, and yes like any other young single male I'm looking around to find single women to not just to hook up with but to hang out with...I'm also not the type to expect sex within the first five minutes of meeting a woman. I'm laid back, and if it happens it happens...if not then not.
It's going to be a single guys retreat with just me and a friend. Like I said before, I always expect to hookup (this is not limited to just sex) wherever I go, but at the same time I know not to focus too much on that.
I'm going for the experience and to cross off something on my bucket list. If I manage to get lucky while I'm there than great, but if not...then thats fine too. I certainly do not act like a douche bag when I go out here, so I don't expect to act like one there.
Besides, with all the reports of public sex going on between people who aren't in a relationship, it leaves me wondering...if you're nude, where the hell do you put the condoms? LMAO Hence, why I feel like most of these stories are padded.

You sound like you have realistic expectations. Just go with the intent of having fun. The worst thing that can happen is that you drink too much and watch too much porn on the television in your room! LOL! Even though you are very much on the "young" side, you sound like you have it figured out.

Gq86NYC, in my opinion, that 'trip report' by Paul Katcher is just nothing more that fiction. Now, he could have been there, a long time ago as the piano bar has not been called Veronica's for a very long time (maybe 10 years -- cannot exactly recall). Or he could have done research about Hedo from Denny's board, the SC site, and other boards and spun a story. One example of his fiction: if night 1 was pj night (a Tuesday) then night 3 (a Thursday) was toga night and there was no mention of that in his 'report.'
The internet is abound with 'trip reports' of their stay or night pass experiences filled with sexual overtones. These, too (in the main), I read as fiction.
The trip reports here are the realistic ones.
I echo the 'do not go with an agenda' advice, Chuck

One of the greatest things about being nude in public is the breaking down of barriers. Its amazing how things like age, race, physical shape, money, all fade away out there - that is why so many people keep going back; everyone is equal.
And you may not be the youngest out there. On all of my trips I've seen at least a few who are teens to mid twenties.

While it is true that most of the H2 rooms are on the 'nude' side (160 vs. 120), all of the resort is available to you no matter where you stay at the resort.

In my experience, gals in your age group will likely spend most of the day on the prude beach. Again, in my experience, most of the early 20s gals seem to have a certain insecurity about being nude especially at Hedo.
Sure their have been early 20s gals in the nude section, but, in my experience, this was/is rare.
And, you are right, most (all) of the stories about single guys going to H2 and reporting unbounded sex have padded their stories.

You'll be fine!
You ask what to bring...to the beach: a beach bag (big or small) to carry your beach stuff.
To wear: at breakfast any thing from swimsuit to shorts and t-shirt is fine. Often same with lunch. At dinner most men wear shirts (collared, polo, Hawaiian,or t-shirt) and shorts or long pants/jeans.
I started Hedo at age 24 and now at nearly 50, I still feel part of it.

Like most have posted to your questions, just go have fun, be respectful, and you will have a blast. Just a couple things to remember to bring #1 SUNSCREEN! even if you have hit the tanning bed before you leave, the Jamaican sun is alot different than the beds lamps. Most men I have seen at HII usually wear shorts and some light material pants. Lots of tee-shirts and tank tops for the day. And just so you know, you might have to hand out and party with us "old" folks, so please try to keep up! hehe As far as being a single male we have a friend that has always went to Hedo single and has too much fun. (hey Julio) Just rememer that Hedo is NOT a swingers resort, there are alot of Lifestyles there but not all of us swing. Always ask nicely and even if we don't we will be flattered that you took notice. Have fun...

Sounds like you'll have a good time. We've found that the really unique thing about H2 is that the folks there tend to be outgoing, so it's easy to mingle and socialize. Just bring your smile and good cheer and you'll likely have a great vacation.
Aside from the social aspects of the place, there are a bunch of fun activities. The beach and pool games can be a good way to meet folks (and win a bottle of rum occasionally). The snorkel boat is great, as is kayaking to the nearby Booby Cay island to explore.
There are some good tips on various topics on Denny's FAQ board too.
Enjoy! Chris

I'm down for winning a bottle a rum! That's sounds awesome. TamNRudy I've read the guides and I think I have a good idea of what to expect. Your trip report was great, couldn't stop laughing!
On another note, I've been reading a lot throughout the site and couldn't help but ask what is a "VINNIE" and all these other names (that I completely forgot) mean? LOL A vinnie sounded negative, but in what way? LOL I need a dictionary to understand most of these reports.
