Hmmmm, they were sitting there. We said hello. Were totally ignored. Excused ourselves while we picked up our belongings and moved to another spot. I wasn't there this year, it happened 2 years ago.

Unfortunately, you're right. That's the problem with a group that gets too big. There is a risk that some members will act the fool and it reflects on the whole group while 99% of the group may be good Hedo people. Of course it's not right to assume that these are members unless they are covered group paraphernalia.

@flfungal, i hear ya. The bottom line is, why is anyone putting anyone else down on this website? Believe me, I've been going to both Hedo 2 and Hedo 3 over the past 10 years and I've personally witnessed all types of idiotic behavior from many guests at hedo. However, if any person's behavior directly affects me or my wife, I handle it right then and there. I don't have to come to DennyP's to voice my complaint. It really doesn't matter if the original poster voiced a complaint about one black guest or the whole BSC group. The moment one puts "offensive black guest" and "Black Swing group" in the same paragraph, we are all intelligent enough to know whats going to happen. As evidenced by the follow up comments to the original poster's comment, the BSC group suddenly becomes the boogy man regardless of whether that was the original poster's intent. I suddenly saw comments from folks indicating they would not want to travel to hedo at the same time a black swing group was there. What the hell is that about? I remember being at H2 this past April when the ButtCrack group was there. One of the ButtCrack guys came up and grabbed my wife's butt. She called out to me and I promptly threw his ass in the ocean. Now, that said, I did not, nor would I ever come on DennyP's and post a comment about never wanting to visit Hedo at the same time the ButtCracks were there. Hell, I thought the ButtCrack group members were great with the exception of that one incident that directly affected me, but, you best believe i'll be back next April.
So, if anyone experiences an issue at Hedo with anyone, regardless of their race or sex, grow some balls and handle it right then and there. Stopping whining on DennyP's.

I'm sure Pareto's Principal (80/20 rule) is at play here and the BSC members that are commenting are likely from the 80% of the group that would have been a pleasure to be around and the folks that the complainer encountered were likely from the 20% that give everyone else a bad name. After participating and also being outside of large groups at Hedo I can say this...THEY ALL HAVE'EM each and every group.
Peace and Rispek

bowlegs339 - There's a cold gin & tonic with your name on it at Delroy's on your next trip.
Hopefully, everyone has got the venom out of their system at this point and we can return to our usual important business. For example, I've been tossing and turning at nights wondering:
"Will I be terribly underdressed wearing a navy blue thong on formal thong theme night? I'm just afraid that if I wear a navy blue thong, and everyone else is wearing classic black thongs, that I just won't fit in. I could wear my liquid metal thong, but some might think that I'm trying to make too much of a statement. Okay, in a nutshell, will a 200lb hairy man wearing a blue thong on formal thong theme night be over the top?" Help!
Hopefully, trying to help me resolve this fashion nightmare will get all of us back on track. Was this TMI?
Respect,

So, if anyone experiences an issue at Hedo with anyone, regardless of their race or sex, grow some balls and handle it right then and there. Stopping whining on DennyP's. Here I go with another ramble. Bowlegs, I agree with much of what you said. However, I will disagree with your proclamation that DennyP's is not the place to voice complaints. To the contrary, in my opinion, DennyP's IS the place to voice comments, opinions, observations, etc. about all things Hedo- it is an open forum. So if something happens on your Hedo trip, whether it be good, bad, or indifferent, this would be the place to share your experience. I've belonged to this website for several years, and have gotten a wealth of valuable information from many of the posters here. This would have been the forum to share your experience regarding the guy from the Buttcrackers who grabbed your wife's butt if you had chosen to do so. Why shouldn't someone talk about it here if they felt that something inappropriate, or rude, or unpleasant happened to them, just as they can and should talk about all of the wonderful, special, sexy, fun, and hedonistic moments they had? Now, I will agree that the way the posts were worded on this thread were more than a little inflamatory, and certainly those posts jumping on the bandwagon to badmouth the BSC without being there or knowing the full story (or at least another side of the story), were wrong, but until just a few days ago, another side of the story wasn't presented. I definitely think that constructive, respectful, open dialogue is the way to address issues, and am pleased that there is such a place (here!) to do so.

No particular group has the corner on the rudeness market, as rude behavior is a transgression of individuals. There is almost always one each trip in my experience. I'm for calling them out right then and there, but then that's just me.

Wow! Wow! Wow! and again Wow! I cannot believe this thread! It's been a while since I've been on DennyP but when I started reading this thread I was floored. I WAS at Hedo II and was with the Black Swingers Fest. It was our first time at Hedo II but not our first time in Jamaica and certainly not our first time at a lifestyle event. The early comments in this thread are amazing. How is it that the original poster immediately jumped to the conclusion that a rude black person was part of BSC? Newsflash! Not ever black person at Hedo II that week was with BSC. My wife and I came a day early and stayed 2 days after the BSC group had left and there where still a considerable number of non BSC people of color at the resort. In the future try not to lump all people together by color, it is rude, racist, inaccurate and just plain stupid. And yes the group is called Black Swingers Club but it could have just as easily been called the Rainbow Initiative if that would have made anyone feel more comfortable. My wife and I saw none, I repeat, none of the behaviors mentioned! We did however run into a few Vinnies/Wallies of varying colors. We laughed it off and enjoyed our time in paradise. Rude people, regardless of race, are rude people. They exist, have existed, and will continue to exist. A word of advice, when in paradise enjoy the splendors of the day. Talk to who you want to talk too, play with who you want to play with, eat what you want to eat, and laugh when you want to laugh (all as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else). This isn't a play date it's a vacation! NOW STOPPING WHINING AND GO CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM

Just because you saw none of this behavior does not mean the original poster did not. We would never assume a jackass is with a group so without details of how the original poster knew they were with the group we won't know just yet.

Ah, this one I can answer: The secret is to wear a hideous hat, then no one will be looking at your thong! I should have known that it would be Canadians that would be able to solve my hedo-related problem. Mrs. Endless Summer is a Canadian and somehow Canadians & Hedonism II/III just seem to go together like gin & tonic, or in the case of my Canadian relatives, it would be any drink containing Canadian whiskey - good stuff! Sadly, after 9 years of trips, I just found out that there is no formal thong theme night at Hedo II. Now I know how Charle Brown felt when he found out that there was no Great Pumpkin. It's just starting to sink in now that I'll never be able to participate in the "Thong Parade" and the Mrs. and I will never be crowned "Thong King and Queen." Thanks again Parracky Parrot - I'm retiring my thong and making it into an eye patch for a Pirate-themed night. For the record, I'll wash it before I wear it. Respect,

As another Canadian, may I just say, that by your description you may be a Canadian by your attire. And if you like, we could have a special thong theme night. Just remember the hat.

I'm not Canadian, but probably as close as you can get to a second cousin in mentality, I'm Swedish. =)
When I first saw the notions about the BSC going to be there, my associations went in a totally different direction. We all have our references, now don't we, and for me a group with that name had to be gothic or something. Well, I didn't get to see any cool gothic outfits, so what! I didn't personally witness any of the really upsetting things we've been reading about in this thread, but what I noticed was the lack of "Hedo friendlyness". On the other hand, being Swedish and remembering the first year we went to Hedo, I can actually imagine why some acted less in the way we're used to.
My first year I got really confused by everyone saying "hi" and "hello, how are you" and then leaving without waiting for an answer. Not to mention all the "Good mornings" like they were familymembers. There I was just walking about caring about my business, and trying not to get eyecontact with anyone... and there was the Hedo friendlyness just pouring all over me. =) It probably took me days just to smile back, and even more to realize I just had to say the same thing back (not give an extensive version of how I _really_ felt at the moment).
To me it's likely that if many of a groups members are new to Hedo, that escential feeling of the embracing friendlyness could be something strange and to adapt it and totally live it might take some time. We only overlapped with the BSF for two days, and that's obviously not enough time. =)
Hence, just because someone isn't acting as friendly as we're used to, doesn't mean they're rude, it could be a frozen Swede or a confused newcomber. All one has to do is keep on being Hedo friendly and eventually they'll thaw.

You are so right when you say that it sometimes takes time for Hedo interactions between strangers to "thaw" into friendships. Enough Hedo atmosphere (and a little liquor at Delroy's) usually speeds up the "thaw." Hej då,

HedoLiz, you're very generous to recommend a special thong theme night in my honor. As a tribute to all Canadians (even the Swedish-type Canadians like GreySeal), and anyone else that can say "Eh," how about we scrap the thong theme and instead replace it with HOT CANADIAN MOUNTIES NIGHT! If you click the link below, you can see what the costumes might look like: Costume examples... You will note that not only can these costumes be used for a sexy Canadian Mounties party, but with the right accessories, they could also be used for a sexy "Star Trek: The Next Generation" party. Given the creativeness of the Hedo mentality, Star Trek phrases like "Number One, Engage!" or "Phasers on stun!" would take on new meanings. Eh!
