Hedonism II

Richard - March, 2010

My GF and I visited Hedo III in March 2010 and it was our first time for anything like this and did not know what to expect.  We had never been naked in front of others in this type of environment so we were very hesitant but wanted to try it so my bi-curious GF could meet other women.  We did a lot of research and some of the most helpful tips we found were on Dennyp's site.  So, we wanted to share our experience as first timers in the hopes others like us will be as prepared as possible for the trip of a life time.  And I do mean this.  It was the most wonderful experience ever!  And we will be going back year-after-year.  Here's a recap of our trip:

Pre-trip:  We did a lot of research and heeded the advice of others especially in what to take (which I'll list out later).  We weren't real sure what the dress code was there so we looked at various website then packed the sluttiest outfits to some more traditional nice beach outfits for dinner, etc. (See clothing below).  We also pre-tanned before we went and this helped a lot from getting roasted which can easily happen especially to those areas that do not see sun.  Also, tell your friends and family you are staying at the Breeze's in Runaway Bay.  It's about ½ mile from Hedo and everyone at Hedo tells their friends this...we did!

Typical day:  We'd started off late mornings at the Nude pool and stay there until 6pm'ish so we could go take a 3 hour nap, shower, put on our costumes, eat at the buffet, then go to the disco for an hour or so.  Just outside the back disco door is a very cool water slide we'd strip down and ride a few times to cool off.  We'd then go to the Nude pool hot tube and “play” with friends until 6am.  Our first day we arrived in the evening so we hit the clothing optional pool first.  We were nervous to undress and there were very few people here at this time of day.  We stripped down and 3 minutes later, it was off to the nude pool hot tube.  I regret wasting those 3 minutes.  We arrive at the hot tub about 6pm'ish where there 2 other couples in the tub.  My GF and I watched in astonishment at the other group not knowing what to say or do or even look...I don't even think we breathed for awhile.  My GF whispered to me “This is like watching a porn!”.  About an hour and 4 or 5 strong rum drinks later, we were in our own porn with another couple.  I love this place!  I kept telling people: “I've died and gone to Hedonism!”

Clothing: The only time you are “required” to wear clothes is on the Prude side (which they don't enforce as I walked around naked in the area many times), in restaurants, and in the disco.  That's it.  Every day I took a swim suit and tank top (in my hands) to the Nude pool but only to wear if I went to eat. But there's a decent grill at the Nude pool bar so we ate there most of the time for lunch so we didn't have to get dressed.  We wore some sort of costume at night to dinner and then to the disco but it came off immediately after the disco (I love being naked now!).  We wore very little of the clothes we took.  So, I recommend for the:

Guys: 1 swimsuit, tank top, 1 short sleeve,  flip flops, ball cap, casual shorts, nice beach-wear shirt, no underwear.

Ladies: 1 swimsuit, coverup, hat, flip flops, casual shorts with top, no underwear/panties, and lingerie.  Lingerie you can wear out every night even to dinner or just stroll around in it.  There's very few places you can do this so take advantage of it.

Essentials to take:  There are several things we highly recommend you take with you on your trip to make it more enjoyable.  We did and it was helpful:

1.      Large drink cups with straws – these can be purchased in the gift shop if you want one as a souvenir.  I almost didn't pack these because of the room in the suite case but it was well worth it.  Use these at the bars to fill up to save many trips to the bar line to get another drink or to take with you to dinner as they are slow to server drinks at dinner.

2.      Medicines:  Pepto, anti-acids, acid reflux, Tylenol, ammonium, KY, Monostat (b/c of hot tub), tampons, condoms.  Almost everyone we met needed Pepto or acid reflux for some reason.

3.      Sunscreen – we took SPF 30 and 15.  Also take a cap and shades

4.      Name/Address cards – I saw this on another website and thought “Yeah, right” but it was so true.  We made so many good friends and it would have been much easier had we made the cards prior to our visit.  (Remember:  its hard to carry a pen and pad on you when you are wearing any clothes!)

5.      Costumes:  We are normally not much into this but in the Hedo world, we were really into it and wish we would have done more.  You will only wear them for 3-4 hours (at best) each night as after the disco, you'll get naked...and do other Hedonistic things!

6.      Exercise: Very few people we knew or saw actually worked out because there's too much going on...plus you have to wear clothes...yuck!  We took our stuff and never used it.  Your on vacation...leave it at home!

Hedo's theme song should be Jimmy Buffet's “Why Don't We Get Drunk And Screw!”  This will be your agenda for each day.  We did things in the Hedo world that we would have never done in the non-Hedo world so be open to trying new things but also know it's okay to have boundaries.  Everyone we met were great people who would not do anything to hurt you and on the contrary, would protect you if you needed it.  There are a few creepy single guys who wander the tub and area looking for others to have sex with and unfortunately they usually find a willing couple drunk enough to let them play.  My GF was enjoying another guys GF on a lounge chair on the side the hot tube while we were watching from the hot tub and cheering them on.  Some single, drunk creep just plopped down beside them within inches of the ladies.  I stood up, shouted at him as 5 other friends stood up with me and he left.  He was harmless but overstepping his boundaries and he left with no problems.  So, don't let this scare you as its a very rare occurrence and there are too many people to help.

Weed, or ganja as they call it, is very prevalent there.  You will be asked by employees of SuperClubs as soon as you check in at the club in the airport if you “party” and you will be asked this by many of the staff at Hedo.  It's illegal in Jamaica but if it's your thing (not mine) no one will every bother you as it's smoked every where.

We are so sad now that we are back in the land of the clothed people.  We had the experience of a life time and made many friends that we hope will last that long too.  We did things we never thought we'd do especially in public with others watching but the atmosphere takes over and you feel free to express yourself.  Without cloths, there are no judging or prejudices on other people.  They are just people having a good time just like you.  You WILL have fun!
