Hedonism II |
Hedo 3 August 29 to
Sept 4, 2009
This is our 7th trip to
Hedo 3. Our flight from Chicago on Air Jamaica was on
time, no
cancellations, no
drama. I know it's slow season so this is why we chose
to fly on a day in
which there is a smaller
chance of Air Jamaica pulling a cancelled flight. Trust
me, I've been
to the ticket counter with
no plane that day and it's like.... oh well!!!
We arrived in Montego Bay a
few minutes early. Customs was a breeze, luggage was
already waiting.
Wait! This is a Saturday!! It was like a ghost town at
the airport. I know
it's slow season,
but I've been down during this time and it was busier.
Going home on Friday
9/04 was even worse....
1.5hr delay, but the airport was really dead. It
really is a shame.
The ride to the resort was
fast, no stops, no problems.
We got to the resort around
12noon. Alicia at the front desk is wonderful.
I asked for
the 900 building and she
did everything to put us in there. Room 933... perfect!
Quick
to everything.
A/C worked, no bugs, no problems. Yeah us!
The weather for the whole 7
days was unbelievable... this is tropical storm season?
Not
a drop of rain!
7 gorgeous days of sun. I've been to Jamaica in late
April/May... and had
some iffy days.
Okay now the
criticisms.....
Swimming pools.... dirty,
borderline filthy. I don't care if the economy is
slow, the season
is slow... blah, blah, blah. KEEP THE
POOLS CLEAN NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!
Quad Pool hot tub...
water was so hot, I scalded my left foot and had to hobble to
the nurse,
she was borderline frantic, worrried I would sue the resort.
I was okay
a few days later, but no one ever followed up with me.
Hmmmmmm.
Restaurants.....
basic food, same desserts every day, selections were
rationed.
Service..... the skeleton
crew in the dining room did their best. No
complaints.
Munasan.... our first night
the meal was fantastic, prepared by a male chef.
our second time, the cooked meal was pretty scary, this
time prepared by a female
chef, who you could tell was tired of cooking this "crap"
already. This is what I
read
between the lines.
Pastafari..... only once
and I am surprised I did not puke in the restaurant.
The appetizers...etc
were good but the main meal smelled like cooked dirty
chicken in rotten garlic.
Very bad. I also heard that from others as well.
Scotch Bonnet....
food is great, but the whole kitchen is run down,
needs to be cleaned up,
refurbished. You have to place your own order,
service cuts I guess.
Bar Staff.... some were
okay, but most were fantastic. Service was fast
since the resort
was slow, drinks were pretty good despite some of the
premium brands were
missing. There was a problem with no straws at the
beginning and sipping a
dirty banana through a "mini straw" was a challenge.
Note: pack your own
straws just in case.
Nude area.... sorry didn't
go over there.... we had the whole prude ocean/ beach to
ourselves.... you
can't beat that.
Entertainment.... all I can
say is they are a talented bunch, but you can't express
yourselves when
the resort is only at about 20% occupancy. The girls are
beautiful, smart, friendly,
and truthfully I think they should pursue their dreams
a.s.a.p.... The guys, "caliente".
We did have extra
entertainment that week... a photo shoot was going on from an
online sexy
swimwear...whatever wear.
I am not going to mention the name of their website,
because I thought
those girls were being
exploited by a bunch of creepy old geezers who wanted to take
some
pictures to post on their
sleezy web site. Or who knows where these pictures will eventually
end
up. I hope
those girls realize that they were all beautiful and they
shouldn't demean themselves with this cheap web site.
I am in no way a prude, but you had to be there to see some of
these old "f--ks...
Hey that's just my own
opinion.
Anyhow.... on Wed
9/02... my sister and I went over to Breezes in Runwaway Bay for the
day, you
can go over for
6.00pp 5 minute taxi. When we got there,
our mouths dropped open.
It's beautiful,
clean, hopping with people, the beach was
freaking amazing. It took us 5 minutes
to recover from the shock.
I'm not going to go into details, but we came back for a full
day on
Thurs 9/03.
They also get funky, freaky, and play some hot music.
I call it good clean
nasty fun. We will
definately come back to Breezes next year.
I can "visit" Hedo 3 but our new home will be
Breezes.
