Hedonism II |
Trip
Report
JAMAICAN WATERSLIDE TEAM
The
Jamaican Waterslide Team’s (JWST) 9th Annual gathering at
Hedonism III during the period 6 to 13 September has now officially been
entered into the history books.
Our
group was a little smaller this year, numbering almost 60 strong,
representing 14 states and
The
Hurricanes that seemed to come one after another this year stayed well
North of Jamaica and did very little damage to the resort and from what
we could see there were only a few broken tree limbs and foliage which
were quickly cleaned up by the ever present Grounds Maintenance crew.
We had one rainy day early in the week and the resort compensated
all of us with a their “No Sun Guarantee” and we each received a voucher
for the value of one day’s lodging to be used within the next year.
Some
of us arrived a few days early to help set up for the JWST week. It was
really nice to get settled in and relax a bit before everyone showed up.
Friday September 5th the Welcoming Committee met to get all
the packets put together. With everyone’s personalized paraphernalia and
other “goodies”. We even had
a contest set up for each of the members to meet each other and to
qualify for a drawing to win a free three night stay at Hedo III for a
future trip. We call this
game “The Name Game”.
Our
week began on Saturday September 6th with busload after
busload of JWST members being delivered to the lobby of Hedonism III. As
many members as possible were greeted with their drink of choice,
assisted with check-in, and given their own Personal Packet stuffed with
the above mentioned goodies.
The Welcome Committee also ensured that requested drinks and committee
members would be in the lobby to meet and
greet as many JWST members as possible. It sure was fun getting hugs
from friends we knew and the new JWST members we would be getting to
know during the week. Needless to say, one of the first questions was
“what is your number (the contest)?” Our fun filled week had officially
started.
We
also had a volunteer “scribe” who kept our bulletin board posted each
morning with the day’s activities and he also
included, birthdays, anniversaries and other notable dates and
events to keep us all up to date.
He certainly has a job for next year as well.
We
(The JWST) try not to schedule an over-abundance of activities, and as
always, if you do not choose to participate, you are under no
obligation. However, the activities we do schedule are referred to by
most of the members as “Kick-Ass”. We are especially referring to our
now famous Sunday theme night
“Wear Mesh and Glow”. This is one activity that really
breaks the Ice, so to speak. The evening begins about 10 pm as we all
cram into a suite in the 600 building wearing only our mesh outfits, in
less than a hour we emerge draped with
flashy, blinky, brightly colored glowing
necklaces and bracelets. We “lit up” the night as we paraded through the
resort on our way to the Disco.
We also found out that the glow sticks and necklaces keep glowing
after waterslide runs.
Monday afternoon we held our Welcome Party. The theme was “Naughty
T-shirts”. The Hedo staff judged the best male and female Naughty Tee,
the best of which won prizes. The Grand Prize “Name Game” ticket was
also pulled from the hat, this topped off our “Welcome Party”.
Congratulations to the winners.
Tuesday afternoon we were all invited to a JWST wedding.
The lucky couple tied the knot on the prude beach.
Congratulations and looking forward to seeing the two of you next year.
Tuesday evening the JWST kicked it up a notch with our Team Dinner and
group photo. Our Theme was “Silver or Gold -
Sexy and Sensuous”. All I can say is, ladies… Gorgeous, Glamorous,
Beautiful and just plain WOW!
Wednesday…Nude Catamaran Cruise :~) What can
we say? Let’s do it again. WET! WILD! and
WICKED! We also did our
first pasties night in the piano bar, which turned out to be a lot of
fun.
Thursday we held our “Erotic Gift Exchange”, which is always a fun
event. Thank you to our two team Captains, nicely done.
Thursday night was also TOGA Night.
What a great array of Togas that everyone had.
It is always a great time and a great party.
Friday, oh what a Friday, The JWST gathered at the Quad pool for our
annual “JWST-HEDO III -2008” photo. After the photo shoot the Hedo EC’s
held a wet T-shirt contest. All I can say at this time is, Erotic!
Friday evening Hedonism III kicked off its 9th anniversary
celebration, which happens to coincide with the 9th annual
gathering of the JWST. The Grand Gala Celebration was held in the
Tropical Terrace Dining Room. After a fantastic dinner the celebration
seemed to take on a life of it’s own,
starting with The Miss Hedonism III contest, which by the way, a JWST
member in training (MIT) took top honors and another member took second
place. More about MIT’s a
little later.
The
cohesiveness of our group this year was nothing short of amazing. We not
only bonded well with each other, but with the other guests at the
resort. Before any of us arrived at Hedo III we (as members) held twice
weekly chats months in advance of the trip, so when it came time to meet
and greet, it was like saying hello to old friends. It’s the people that
make the Hedo experience what it is. I am sure that lifetime friendships
were formed. I know that we all look forward to seeing each other at
Hedo III in the near future.
A few
words about Members in Training (MIT’s)…..It is the policy of the
Jamaican Waterslide Team to close membership one week before our trip,
this allows time to finalize the small details i.e. print door and name
tags, etc.
Members in Training: Once at Hedo III we will meet couples or singles
that seem to fit with the JWST perfectly. This year two couples joined
us as MIT’s as did a young solider on leave from
Smiley you were a joy to get to know, may God
Bless and keep you safe. May our paths cross again
someday.
A
very special thank you to our various committee and team Captains. The
Welcome Committee, job well done. To the Men’s and Ladies Massage
Team’s, FANTASTIC! Slide Captain, let’s do it again next year, be sure
to bring your whistle. Erotic Gift Exchange Captain
and Co-Captain, very, very nice, excellent in fact. The Team took
a vote and you two have the hosting duties again next year.
We’d
also like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to Mr. Kevin Levee,
Hedo III’s General Manager and the wonderful Staff that make Hedo III
all that it is. The service, the food and the hospitality were better
than ever and that’s what keeps us coming back to Hedo III year after
year
The
Jamaican Waterslide Team’s 10th annual meeting will take
place during the period 12 to 19 September 2009 at Hedonism III in
Come
and join us.
