Rookie Trip report from a Single Male

I went to H3 from March 19th -16th.  My overall experience was fantastic and want to share some of my experiences (especially for those single males who venture to there.).

Arrival in Jamaica:   I only traveled with carry-on luggage.  That obviously restricts you on amounts of suntan and other “lotions” and liquids you wish to bring.  If it doesn’t fit in that sealable 1 quart bag, you either don’t bring it or check your luggage.   I landed at Montego Bay and proceeded very quickly to customs.  That took only about 10-15 minutes.  The line moved quite quickly. After customs the Superclubs folks were right there and got me to the bus that was waiting outside.  I was the last one they were waiting on so we left shortly thereafter.  Beer was already flowing.

Road to Hedo:  Construction is still occurring.  It was Saturday and traffic was light.  We stopped for a souvenir/beer purchase for about 15 minutes and then continued the trip.  One stop at Grand Lido to drop off one couple and then Hedo 3.

The bus ride was a great opportunity to make those initial party friends.  One couple I’d already met through a yahoo group and two other couples were ready to socialize.  My party week had begun.  My thanks to those three couples.(Chris/Jules, Tom/Judy,AJ/Nancy)

Arrival at Hedo3:  We arrived approximately 2 hours from my plane touching down.  I felt I was ahead of my schedule.  Things were going well.  Typical arrival at any hotel.  However, a nice glass of Champagne was presented while I waited for check-in.  I had reserved an au naturel garden view suite.  I was informed due to some maintenance issues (???) that the room wasn’t available but I received an Ocean view suite.  It was on the third floor and overlooked the nude area.  Other than extra exercise up the, the walk to the nude area was about 2 minutes and caused no real loss of enjoyment.  Everything at H3 is close.  I was in my room at 5PM and at the nude pool by 5:10!! SINGLE MALES TAKE NOTE!!!

The vast majority of people at H3 this week were couples. (especially on the nude side)  I didn’t spend much time on the quad.  However, the population there was similar from what I could tell.  The couples were ALL very friendly and enjoyed socializing.  After hearing a few stories of Single guys that didn’t “get it” as far as respecting others, I realized that it would be easy to have a great week if I followed two self-imposed rules

1)      Don’t go anywhere or do anything unless first invited. (Also, one invite does not mean subsequent invites are carte blanche)

2)      If invited only do what is asked of you.

One more thought:  Normally when single guys go out, they want to get drunk AND get laid.  From over 25 years of trying and observing one or the other, I have learned and proven that you can do one or the other, but not both.  Choose what you want to do and then have a great time!

I followed these rules and had an amazing time, made lots of new friends and experienced many things I had never before experienced.  Remember:  Not everyone there is looking for someone to enhance their lives.  Girls do rule Hedo.  You all were very beautiful.  Eye candy everywhere!!!  (you all know who you are.)  Jamie/Joe and Sarah/Heath, I’ll only buy batteries from Energizer for the rest of my life! LOL

Other things:  Piano bar is a blast and the Disco is lots of fun.  Remember Jamaica time is on the No problem clock.  Add 30 minutes to nite time activity start times.  Take part in as much as you can.  If you are seen as socialable.  People will socialize.

I took a break mid-week and did the Dunn River Falls excursion.  Loads of fun and evidence that I enjoyed myself that I can share in a rated PG environment! LOL

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!  It’s getting hot.  Too much alcohol + too little water+ too much sun equals a shortened and less memorable vacation. (for me 60oz a water each day before any alcohol. Easily done before 9:30AM if you try hard!)

Departure Day:  I didn’t get my “Eviction Notice” that everyone talked about.  It’s worth checking the night before you leave as to what time you need to be checked out.  That will prevent the “Why aren’t you down here call.”   I had a 1:45 PM flight and left for the airport at 9:00AM.  No real issues on the return trip.  Once you get on the bus, you should have enough time to get your flight.

I had a wonderful trip and hope that yours will be even better.  I’m looking forward to my next one.
