The last week of February my wife and I took our first trip to Hedo III.

Airport/Bus ride:  Took us an hour and 1/2 to get through immigration and customs.  This was due to four jets arriving at the same time and not the officials at the Airport who did a very nice job!  Super Clubs room at the airport provided a chair and a bottle of water, which was nice since we had to wait ½ an hour for a bus.  Took bus an hour and 45 minutes to get to the resort which included a stop for refreshments and restroom.  Ladies word of caution, use airport restroom as the restroom at this stop was very dirty.  From the time we landed to resort was 4 hours.

Resort: Check-in was very smooth and with 20 minutes of arrival we were in nude pool with drink in hand.  The people we met were the friendliest that we have ever met at any resort and are the real plus of Hedo III.  Bartenders, EC’s, and cleaning staff are top rank.  Restaurant staff was hit or miss.  Quad pool area looked new and was hardly used, also as commented by others the music was loud.  The Nude pool is where most of the quests were at.  This area had a very used look to it and needs to be updated.  Prude beach was hardly used.  A common topic of discussion was “where are all the people?”  Desk said occupancy was 75-90%, past guests said 50 % which was our guess also.  Several days there were not more than 80 guests at the resort.  Main restaurant had broken tiles, tables needed a good cleaning and generally needed renovation.

Food:  Two theme restaurants were good.  Buffet was average to average+ with very little variety during the week.  Scotch Bonnet was average with poor service.

Drinks: Better than most, but not top shelf.

Waterslide: Great idea, a blast!

Disco:  Fun, a must do, needs one more bartender.

Trapeze/ water activities:  Great, top-notch

Nightly entertainment: good shows, worth seeing

Piano Bar:  a must do

Games:  EC’s had games for all every day, can’t say enough about how hard these people work

Beach:  Basically there is not a beach, and beach activities such as body surfing or walking do not exist.

Room: We were in building 800, Ocean front room.  Nice and everything was in working order.

Security: The Good: “they had just enough” The Bad: “One Guard went out of her way looking for PDA’s and shut down individuals quickly”  The Ugly: “Friends we met had a Guard peeping in their room after dark until they reported him”

Guests: The real plus of this resort.  Everyone we met was respectful, relaxed, and friendly.

Overall:  A two and one half resort at best.  May once have been the resort in the brochures, but it is not currently.  Needs updating and renovation and until this is done price needs to be reduced.  We will go back at some point, but it is not tops on our list.
