Aaron & Alysia

We departed at 9:30 AM on March 28. Our flights were OK, they were having trouble regulating the cabin temperature on the flight from Charlotte, NC to Montego Bay, so we were a little chilly by the time we landed and didn’t mind that the AC in the airport wasn’t really efficient. Made it through immigration in about 30 minutes, there were a lot of people in line when we got there and the staff were doing their best to get everyone through quickly. Got our baggage and then to customs which was a breeze, straight on to the Superclubs Lounge. They are doing some serious construction on this part of the airport, so plan to walk a bit and be patient!

We got on the road after about 30 minutes of checking in at the Superclubs Lounge. A family of four was on our minibus and one single guy. Evidently his business partner always books rooms for them at Hedo III. He wasn’t talkative or happy. We stopped for beer and a bathroom break less than halfway to our resort. The place was really clean, and the bus driver was really talkative and nice. It was a decent bus ride, nothing to complain about. The family stopped at Breezes and we chugged on to Hedo III. Can’t remember how long the bus ride lasted, I was just glad to finally be there!!!

Check-in was smooth and friendly. Our room was clean, cool, and didn’t smell, the bathroom was also clean. We unpacked and changed clothes and headed to the Scotch Bonnet/Reggae Café for a meal, since we hadn’t eaten since breakfast in Kentucky. Our room was right behind the Scotch Bonnet on the first floor.

As soon as we walked into the café, we heard people calling our name. Turns out, it was some folks from a Hedo III Yahoo Group we joined. They recognized us from our pictures. It was like meeting old friends. We ate with them and watched the sunset then headed off to the nude hot tub. I had no problem getting naked and getting in. You have to understand that my husband and I are not lifestylers and I was very apprehensive about coming here. But after two vodka and Tings taking my clothes off didn’t bother me at all!

We booked two excursions. The first was the Wet and Wild 96 degree cruise, which is the nude booze cruise. The staff there was awesome and we had a blast! The second trip was the ATV Safari and it was immensely fun as well. I highly recommend both.

The food was good everywhere, but we especially liked Pastafari. We only ate dinner at the Terrace once and it was good, but once we ate Pastafari we were addicted. I wasn’t a big fan of the midnight buffet, but what do you expect at 1:00 in the morning???

All of the staff we interacted with were great, from wait staff to bartenders to Stacy at the travel desk to the ECs. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they all remember you. It got to the point that one bartender would just sit my drink up on the bar without me asking. She remembered me every time!

The disco was a lot of fun and my husband actually danced with me up there. Must be something in the water…I managed to win a booty shaking contest on the bar one night and took home a liter of Appleton’s Rum. Be sure to bring outfits for the theme nights…

We spent pretty much every day on the nude side by the pool. Be sure to wear your sunscreen! Reapply often! We didn’t see anything freaky, not much PDA except maybe twice. Very laid back, lots of fun, everyone was friendly and polite.

The only negative thing we have to say is about the trip home. We had to leave at 10:00 AM.  The bus ride from the resort to the airport was hot. Our flight was delayed in Montego Bay, and we sat on the runway for quite a while after we boarded. Then, we circled Charlotte for about 30 minutes before we could land. All in all, this started to worry everyone on the plane about their connecting flights. Immigration and customs was really backed up, security was really slow, and the overall negative vibe was really sucking all the island goodness out of us. But, we managed to make it on our connecting flight, thankfully it was delayed too. Otherwise we probably would have spent the night in Charlotte. We landed in Lexington an hour later than we’d planned, so all in all not too bad.

Our trip was just amazing. We had so much fun, that we absolutely have to go back in 2008. We met a few folks from the Jamaican Waterslide Team and we’re going to try to meet up with them next fall, they were a lot of fun. Hedo III is way better than what we expected, and I understand why folks go back multiple times, year after year. This trip refreshed our relationship and made us realize how much we love each other. Hedo III is what you make of it. If you expect 5 star lodging and cuisine, don’t come. But if you want to eat and drink well, relax, party, and have No Worries, come to Hedo III. Maybe we’ll see you there sometime.
