Hedonism III
Dec 29 - Jan 2
Trip #12

Ok, we have to start at the very beginning.  We didn't book this until the end of Nov so that left us very little time to get to know others before going.  I formed a yahoo group for those traveling over the Holidays and immediately invited everyone from Dennyp's visitor list as well as other sites lists who would be traveling to Hedo III anytime over the Christmas/New Years Holidays.  We ended up with 22 couples!  We had weekly chat sessions as well as several of us chatted on IM or on group chat each day/night.  This soon became my 2nd job.  We all felt like we already knew each other before even arriving at Hedo.

The big day, all flights pretty close to on time.  We met our first Hedo friends, R & N, on the plane from Philly, we were only a few rows from each other so we were able to chat a few times during the flight.  We also met a couple, J & A, who were traveling to Braco but who recognized me from a website.  Yippeee new friends already and we aren't even at Hedo.  Flight landed, they announced that all of us with luggage from Boston, it didn't make it and it would arrive the next day!  Oh well, at least tonight is Toga night and they will give me a sheet.

Customs went exceptionally quick, I think we were only in line 5 minutes. Every time we go the system gets better and better.  As soon as we arrived in the Superclubs lounge, they quickly ushered us out to the bus which left immediately after us and the other couple from the flight got on.  There were 8 of us going to Hedo and us and 1 other couple were the only ones who had been there before.  We quickly filled the other 4 in and got them REALLY excited!  Yeah, 4 new friends, T & A, and S & J!  Quick 10 minute pit stop and back on our way.  Our plane landed at 1130am, and we were at the resort by 130pm.  That is a record!

Check in went rather smooth.  They now make sure your room is ready before they give you the keys.  This can delay things but at least they are taking extra measures to make sure your room is the best it can be.  No sweat, we grabbed something to eat and then got our keys and headed to room 511.  This is a gardenview room on the nude side.  The best thing about building 5 is that it is by far the quietest location on the resort, which is great for sleeping.  It is also an equal number of steps to the quad as it is to the nude pool.  Ground floor is a must have for us!  We love being able to walk right out our back door.  Kevin Levee (hotel manager) came out to greet us and give us an update on what was going on.  He explained that they were doing the best they could with the hot water and hoped to have it fixed any minute.  He said the nude hot tub had a leak in it and unfortunately that leak is under the nude pool, so they couldn't do anything about it this week since the resort is sold out.  He said they would be doing the repairs beginning Jan 5 once the resort emptied out quite a bit.  That was a bit of a downer.  OH well, off to our room.  Room was spotless.  Tony had all his luggage because he only took carryon, so by the time I was done taking a shower (a chilly sponge bath because of no hot water) he was unpacked and we were ready to head to the nude pool to meet all our yahoo friends!  Within seconds of arriving I was spotted!  I hear R & G yelling my name from the hottub.  We got in and I think we met 10 other yahoo couples within a few minutes....too cool.  We quickly got caught up with all that is going on.

At 5pm we had scheduled a meet and greet for all of us in the yahoo group, and by coincidence it was the same place and time as the Hedo repeater party.  Well luckily most of us in our group were repeaters anyway.  Once there I think almost everyone in the resort was there.  It was great, they gave us spicy oedourves (I don't know how to spell them), drinks and we got to meet most of the management and EC staff.  They gave away 3 free nights in a drawing.  We all mingled there for a few hours then headed off to nap time.  8 of us had dinner together that night at Japaneese, that was good.  Then off to the disco for toga night.  Overall a very quiet night for us.  The quad hot tub was boiling and the nude hot tub was slowly draining.  It was quite funny watching 30 people sit in the hot tub as it gradually drained.

Next several days all similar.  The weather WAS GREAT (unlike last year) the hot tub was pretty cold at times and too hot at others.  Drinks were always flowing and plenty of food.  I think we met more people on this trip than we did in our other 5 trips this year put together.  We played drinking games, spin the bottle, bubbles (similar to spin the bottle), etc.  We had a blast.

Friday night was fetish night, but not too many dressed the theme.  I think they get  confused because it isn't clear what this night is suppose to be.  We ate at Pastafari tonight with 10 other people.  This got a little overwelming for the hostess.  Our group had reservations for 6 and 4 and we wanted them to make it one large table, they gave us a really hard time at first, then pushed 2 tables together, we noticed that once they did there were actually 12 seats, so we invited 2 more people to join us.  The hostess got really mad and said we couldn't do that.  We spoke to someone else and they quickly made arrangements for us.  Mike was our waiter, and while he doesn't have a sense of humor, he was very thorough and quick.  Food at pastafari has gone down hill slowly over the last year, I don't think we will eat there again in our future trips until we start hearing of improvements. They have a new menu and the food just wasn't as tasty as before, it was very bland.  I finally got my luggage this night around midnight.  Karen and Christine had been calling Usairways all day trying to get an answer on where it was, but no luck.  Finally around 11pm we talked to Donna Grant who brought us into her office and kept calling Usairways until she could get an answer, we finally heard it was on a bus on the way to us.  I got it at midnight, I was so excited!!! I didn't need drinks that night, I was high on luggage!

Saturday night, NEW YEARS EVE!  The staff was busy all day decorating all over.  They put party favors in our room at 3pm.  Dinner started at 7pm and went until about 10pm.  There was a lot of food (not as much as last year) but it was very good.  Loved the lobster tails!  The staff put on a great show and brought in outside entertainment too.  The weather was still perfect, and not a chill in the air this year!  They threw confetti at midnight, not as much as last year and I don't blame them, it must've taken them weeks to clean it out of the pool last year. Around 1230a the party moved on to the disco and the hot tubs.  Everyone appeared to have a great time.  There were plenty of seats, no need to get there early or save seats.  Most of the women were dressed up in a sexy dress of some sort.  The guys you saw such a wide range of clothes.  I would say the majority wore dress pants/dress shorts with a button down shirt.  Some had shorts and tees, and a few wore tuxes or suits.  The best part about Hedo is no one really cared!  Everyone fits in no matter what you wear!

Sunday, New Years Day, the place was a ghost town!  I think many checked out but I think many were just outright exhausted and stayed in.  Plenty of seats at the pool.  Everyone was in major slomo!  Not a lot of drinking at first.  That quickly changed around 3pm.  This was the day I also decided it was time to take a stand on the hot tub.  We had put up with 3 days of it being boiling hot, and according to the thermometer the temp was 110F, way too hot when the air temp is near 90.  I went to the front desk and found Christine, the guest relation supervisor.  She promptly found the maintence supervisor who sent someone over right away.  I walked with him and explained to him that it is extremely dangerous for the temp to be that high.  He explained about the leak.  I said that is fine, just pump in cold water or dump in ice and at least turn off the heat pump for a period of time to cool it off.  He immediately turned off the heat, and turned on the cold water, it took about 30 minutes but the temp dropped to just over 100, perfect and everyone started getting in.  The staff member said that the pool guys were suppose to be watching the temp and monitoring it, well that didn't happen.  Of course, the hot tub soon became too cold, I called Christine again, she sent the same guy back, he was upset that the pool guy had left too, he said that he was told he was suppose to stay and monitor it.  He then turned on the hot and cold at the same time and this seemed to work good until the tub started overflowing and they had to turn off one or the other.  The only way it would work is if a worker sat there all day and kept changing it around, but Hedo wouldn't provide that.  When we went in at 7p, it was draining slowly and getting cold again.  Oh well, I give up!

All in all this was a great trip.  Yeah it sucked to not have a hot tub at a close to normal temperature each night but we managed to have a great time anyways.  Most of the rooms had hot water by the 30th although some never had it.  Hopefully they will have that fixed soon.   The people we met this trip made this trip fun.  We hope to run into all of you again!  This time of year is great too because there are not any large organized groups (except our yahoo group which wasn't really a group).  Sometimes when there are large groups there they can take over the place and make others feel left out.  This time of year that is never the case!
