Rob & Laura - August, 2006

Our first trip to Hedo was in March (see that trip report on DennyP) and we just could not stay away so we booked another trip after the DIF pushed us over the edge. I could not imagine staying away for a whole year. We had an annual trip to Chicago planned, and when I added it all up, we could go to Hedo for cheaper … hmmmm, tough decision.

The best dates in our schedule were the second week of August. I poked around a little and found that the Cocktails International Group was going that week so we joined up with them. Let me tell you right away – this was the best decision we ever made in booking a trip. GREAT group of people – more on that later….

We had a direct flight and got to MoBay a little before noon. We were the ones posting for advice on waiting for friends at the airport. Even with all the debate over it being better to get to Hedo as fast as possible – we knew the bus ride would be a blast if we waited.

Let me back up a little here. The Cocktails International (CI) group held two chats a week for quite a while before the trip, and several informal chats. We got to know a lot of people a little bit before we left - I can’t stress enough how helpful this was.

When we got to the SC lounge G&T were waiting there already. The drinking begins…

Met a guy at another table also waiting for friends with several bottles of booze. I’ll call him Boston because I suck at remembering names and he had a thick accent. They were heading to Breezes and planning day trips to Hedo claiming it was the best of both worlds – after picking myself up off the floor from laughing so hard, we commenced to explain that they would transfer to Hedo by the end of the week. He refused to agree. The drinking continued… (We ran into Boston on Wednesday at Hedo – he had transferred over – LOL)

After an indeterminate amount of time, M&A showed up. Hugs, welcomes, another trip to MargarittaVille, and the drinking continued ….

We waited, and we drank, we waited, and we drank. We decided to give K&J 5 more minutes to show up before hopping the bus to Hedo. They slipped in just under the wire. another trip to MargarittaVille, and the drinking continued ….

On to the bus ride …

The bus ride was so fun it flew by. We had met all these new friends through online video chats, but finally meeting them all in person was great. We picked up much Red Stripe on the way, and had a blast. We adopted another couple (B&C) who ended up joining the CI group later in the week. I think we shocked a few of the other bus riders, but fortunately they were all going to Hedo too, so the shock on the bus ride was nothing compared to what would come.

Check in went quickly and smoothly. They brought us drinks and cool mint scented cloths to wipe our travel weary brows – a nice touch that we did not get last trip. We got room 914 – loved it – very convenient location. Always clean, rarely too loud except when we were trying to sleep and the ECs were trying to get the 3 prudes off their loungers to join an activity.

We were starving when we arrived so we had to make our first stop at the Scotch Bonnet for some feed and then off to the nude pool. On with the party…

Ok, so after our last trip we raved on and on to anyone who would listen (and a bunch who did not want to hear) about how great our trip was. It was so good, that we were back at Hedo four months later. Well, by the end of our second night this time, we both agreed it was already a better trip than the whole four days of our previous trip. Gotta give credit to the CI group - These people are the BEST. We have never been a part of a group with this many fun loving, laid back, party-till-you-drop, people. I hope our schedules line up again in the future because if we join a different group next time they will have some serious shoes to fill.

Where do I start with these great people. I’ll leave off names to protect the not-so-innocent.

D&J, You guys rock – great performers both on and off stage, Laura is an eternal groupie – she can’t let DTM within 50 feet w/o giving him a hug (why can’t I get that kind of attention?).

N&K, thanks for welcoming us into the group with open arms.

K&J, from the minute we met at the airport we knew we would be great friends – and congrats to J, we knew all along you would win rookie of the year.

B&M, I was glad we could meet you in the lobby and get you going, glad you didn’t waste any time jumping into the action – B, we all know you were robbed in the wet T-shirt contest.

G&T, for being the quiet newbies – you two were AWESOME, you showed us that there actually are fun things to do away from the pool during the day at Hedo, and that when the sun goes down, T surprised us all by partying with the wildest.

A&M, you guys are a blast – I always know things are going to get interesting when I hear we are playing “Amy Says”.

E&D,  E – you were always smiling (and how could you not, being in paradise with D), D – All I can say is DAMN!.

B&C, You made it past the initiation on the bus, we knew right away you were CI material, glad you could join our group mid week.

M&T, I take back everything bad I have said about Canadians J – you guys are great.

T&F, Didn’t get to talk to F much, but T – you are a riot, thanks for bringing Mr. Happy and enticing all the jumping and bouncing…

J&G, congratulations again. Thanks for letting us be apart of your big day.

Being surrounded by all these beautiful women all week was a dream come true. Fortunately Laura is already in the habit of warning everyone about me – I didn’t get slapped once!

We actually spent ˝ hour on the prude beach this trip (shhhh don’t tell all our nudie friends). We had partied all night and pulled up a lounger there from 6:00 – 6:30 am. Then got back to our room to sleep before anyone saw us – we would never hear the end of it. We felt like such deviants doing to the prude beach (is that weird or what?)

We went snorkeling one day. That was fun, we may get scuba certified before we go back next time so we can try that out. Just not interested in wasting any precious Hedo time getting resort certified.

We did the trapeze two different days. This is a blast! The first day we just learned the basics as there was not a 3rd person there to catch us. We came back the next day so we could try the catches. It is much easier than it looks and we recommend it to everyone.

Loved the food everywhere. Loved it a little too much … combined with all the drinks I gained over 5 pounds in one week. Somehow Laura did not gain a pound…

Munasan was great as usual. The AC was broken at Pastafari, we sweat our way through one dinner there and did not intend to go back. After we were told it was fixed we went back, but there were just temporary units put in. These did cool it off, but it was still pretty hot in there. Food was good both times though.

We achieved a new personal couple record one night of 20 back-to-back nude waterslides. Should have timed them since we were hauling ass back up the stairs between all of them. If we had not known we were missing the party over at the pool we would have kept going. We will have to go for more next time – it’s a good way to get a workout in at hedo.

I noticed one night how slippery the yellow floats are when wet so we built a slip-n-slide between the quad hot tub and tool.  Nothing like a bunch of drunk naked people looking for an adrenaline rush after the water slide is closed for the night.

I have always loved rum cream, now I have a whole new love for the stuff. Two words: “Bodyshot Buffet” I managed to get three bottles home from the airport (after loosing one to the luggage system) and I will never again drink it without some very fond memories of this trip. “On ice” USED to be my favorite way to consume it … nuff said.

Staff was great as usual – some of them recognized us from our last trip – how do they do that? Destiny even remembered our names – damn, I love her!

We still did not go off site, maybe next time (who are we kidding, no we won’t).

This was the best trip we could have imagined – only because we are incapable of even imagining anything as great as Hedo.

Naughty gift exchange was a blast till we got robbed and got stuck with a “pocket pussy” … WTF?

Superhero night ROCKED! I am so wearing my outfit every time I go dancing from now on … sorry – you had to be there to know what I mean ;)

The volleyball was fun, I don’t think we played too much, and I did not notice anyone pissed off at us.

Service was great everywhere, but we are never in a hurry in Jamaica. One night Laura had to walk up on the bar to get a drink of water – that works pretty well ladies.

Nude beach pier, clear night, full moon, you fill in the rest…

Spent a little more time at the Quad this trip – it ain’t so bad, the extra space is nice sometimes and sometimes the water temp was better there. A little variety was nice by the end of the week.

Guys – don’t ever let your wife talk you into just “going along” with a  friend to the duty free shop. Too may shiny things in there for her to walk away empty handed, and when you are at Hedo – she WILL find a way to talk you into buying it no matter how strong your resolve – trust me…

I was disappointed that they did not have any cool Hedo shot glasses in the gift shop this time – I was going to buy a bunch for some friends back home and I swear they had some last time.

Having the CI group see us off in the morning even though we were on the bus at 7am was a nice touch – just shows what great people they are.

I spent 7 days with my beautiful amazing wife in paradise with some great new friends – how do I go back to regular life? Hedo party, my place, anytime…
