Keith & Victoria - March, 2006

This was our first trip to Hedo III.  We had been to Hedo II and to Desire but we wanted to see Hedo III before deciding which resort to go back to.  If you haven't been to all three, it is very hard to compare.  Each has its own pluses and minuses. So without comparing them, let's just say that we thoroughly enjoyed our Hedo III trip and would go back there without a doubt.  We were there from 3-12 to 3-18 during the Hedo Madness week and, in my opinion, the Hedo Madness group kept the place hoppin' especially in the disco at night.  The resort was sold out and so it was plenty lively during our week.  In no particular order, here are our observations.

1.  Rooms.  We stayed in a pool front room on the Quad. The room was clean, the maid service was good and the bathroom was far superior to both Hedo II and Desire.  The water was very warm to hot.  We enjoyed having a jacuzzi in our room because we sat in it every afternoon/evening before going to dinner.  If and when we return, we would probably book one of the rooms on the nude side overlooking the ocean.  We prefer the nude side to the Quad which is clothing optional and the sound and view of the ocean would really appeal to us.  But, we have no complaints about our room or the Quad.

2.    Food.  The food was pretty average but it was plentiful.  We're not complainers but much of the food was not very good.  Looked good but just didn't taste good.  No biggie, though.  We ate a lot of jerk chicken at the Rasta cafe and never got hungry.  In my opinion, though, breakfast is the best meal of the day.

3.   The Quad.  The Quad was lively all day with volleyball and other activities.  It wasn't overly crowded but it was full during the peak hours.  The hot tub at the Quad stayed pretty busy even after the pool bar was closed.  I really wished that the Quad bar would stay open at night.  I think that would add alot to the experience.  One night we went on top of the two-story pool deck for a little hanky pank.  It was an excellent place for a little quiet time.  The good part about it was that the security guard was ten feet below us but couldn't do anything about our activities because you have to get in the pool to go up to the deck.  So, we cheated the sex police at their own game.  The truth of the matter, however, is that the Quad is neither fish nor fowl in that it is neither prude nor nude.  It is clothing optional.  We prefer to be nude but we aren't very enthusiastic about running around nude with people who are dressed.  I wish they would just make the Quad all nude.

4.   The nude side.  The nude side was a lot of fun but, let's face it, it is too small.  Most of the activity is at the nude pool and the pool and hot tub are just not big enough when the resort is full.  We enjoyed every aspect of the nude side but it was just a little bit crowded.  The nude beach is miniscule but it was actually large enough to accommodate the people who went down there.  We enjoyed floating on rafts in the nude beach area and sunning on the decks.  At night, it was a good place to get frisky.

5.   PDA's.  Based on our limited experience, there is alot more PDA at Hedo II.  I think some of that is due to the fact that the jacuzzi is a little darker and more remote at Hedo II than at Hedo III.  We actually saw the sex police break up some daytime PDA at Hedo III which we never saw at II.  There was also one couple there during our trip that had to be the most exhibitionistic couple we've ever encountered.  One afternoon, they walked up to the jacuzzi, dropped their towels and the woman was giving him a BJ within five seconds--literally---with him standing maybe five feet from a crowded jacuzzi.  We aren't prudes by any means but we couldn't seem to get away from them.  Everywhere we went, they seemed to be where we were--having oral sex, intercourse or swapping foreplay with other couples.  We laughed about it but those two were a little over the top.  Otherwise, the PDA's were kinda tame for a full resort.

6.   Single guys.  Caveat:  This is not meant to knock single guys.  Because we were there during spring break, there were a lot of single guys.  For the most part, they were very respectful and not a problem at all.  But, for us, it's just not too much fun to go to the nude jacuzzi and have it occupied by, maybe, two couples and six single guys looking for action.  None of the guys gave us a bit of trouble or problem but, for us, it just kinda kills the mood when the gender balance is out of kilter.

7.   The disco.  It rocked every night and we had a lot of fun in the disco.  We dressed in theme and really enjoyed it.  Again, there were a lot of single guys there on night passes.  Also, we both believed that the music was hard to dance to and, often, sucked.  The DJ could have done a much better job.  But, we're not bitchin'.  We both had great times in the disco.  We just think the music could have been much better.

8.    Day trips.  We took two but I will only mention one.  We went down to Grand Lido Braco for a day trip because I wanted to see the resort.  Of course, the atmosphere is nothing like Hedo.  Nonetheless, the facility, the nude beach, the nude pool, the food, the service is far superior to Hedo.  We'd probably never book more than 1-2 days at Braco because we like the Hedo atmosphere but we really enjoyed our day at GL Braco and would recommend it to anybody who is interested in seeing it.

9.       Conclusion.  All in all, we enjoyed ourselves at Hedo III probably more than we did at either Hedo II or Desire.  Not just because of the resort but because of the crowd and the beauty of that side of the island.  Sure Hedo II has a better, bigger beach but Hedo III has a really nice flavor to it.  We found the staff at Hedo III to be superior to the staff at II although I'm sure there would be much debate about that.  Having said all that, we'd probably book our next trip to Desire because we really like the couples-only format at Desire and it is a very, very nice resort.  Hedo III, we love you and the people we met there and we will be back.  Count on it.
