Jim & Dana - March, 2006

Trip Report for Jim & Dana March 4-11th, 2006.

This is our second trip to Hedonism III

Travel

Lo and behold, I’ve traveled enough on USAirways this year that I was able to upgrade to First Class.  A great start to an outstanding vacation. Our flight arrived on time and check-in at the Super Clubs desk went smoothly.  The wait for the bus took, in my opinion, and inordinate amount of time but Dana and I were anxious to get to Hedo III so it probably wasn’t as bad as we imagined.  The ride hasn’t changed much.  Construction everywhere and we did stop twice for beer and rest stops.  I’d just as soon head straight to the resort and start being hedonistic.  The return trip to the airport went on schedule with no hitches.  When I got to the check-in desk I was already upgraded to First Class.

Check-in

No problem.  The room was ready when we arrived around 3:00 PM.

Room Assignment

We ended up in the quad, building 3, 3rd floor.  We thought it was a great location and the bed was comfortable and we always had hot water with good pressure.

Activities

Nothing out of the ordinary.  I noticed that there was no lifestyle groups scheduled the week we were in but there was still plenty of activities going on at the nude and quad pools.  It was an especially good show at the quad pool the day the nudes took over.  I’ve never seen such participation in the body shots as I did that day.  Good job on Ann Marie’s part in convincing Dana to participate in the wet t-shirt contest.

Food

The food was generally good and about par with the last time we were there.   It’s certainly not 5 star but we don’t go to Hedo for the food.  The cuts of meat at the beach party was the biggest disappointment.  It’s a lot of work getting meat from an oxtail.  The Japanese Restaurant food was better than I remembered and Pastafari was good as usual.  What’s with the name change at the Scotch Bonnet Restaurant?  Reggae Café?  I liked the old name.

Service

No problems.  Sometimes the room didn’t get made up until 4:00 PM but who cares.  We were never in the room.  A lot of the entertainment staff were newbies but did a great job in mingling and making us feel welcome.  The wait staff at the restaurants were especially friendly.

Facilities

Everything was in working order from what we could tell.  I saw the staff drain the nude hot tub and clean the beaches every morning.  Towels as usual were in short supply so we started keeping our beach towels until we knew we could refresh them.  It worked well.  We love the addition of the new hut with mattress on the pier next to the Scotch Bonnet Restaurant.  It’s right next to the ocean and provided a great area to do a photo shoot for Dana in the morning and great place to fool around in the evening.
