Corey & Monica - May, 2006
I'm finally coming out of my drunken stupor from our end of May-early June
trip. I've had a couple of messages looking for a trip report, so here
it is. Skipping from our conservative homespot of SD we arrived in Mobay
right on time. Customs was easy and fast, and actually once we got to
the Breezes lounge I had to hustle back from getting the 4 drinks from the bar
for us in order to make the bus. The bus trip from Mobay to HIII I
didn't really think was that bad. As this was our first trip I wanted to
savor every moment in paradise. Once we made the normal stop and
obtained the usual partying devices we checked in ad the resort. It was
very quick and our rooms were ready. We dropped the luggage off and
headed straight to the beach( nude that is). My wife, being a
mid-westerner, is very conservative yet when we got to the hedo all
inhibitions ( and clothes) left her. ALL RIGHT I NEED TO SAY BEFORE I GO
ANY FURTHER, WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND HAVE FOUND OUR NEW "HOME".
Now that that's off my chest, onward we go. We had great intentions of
doing all kinds of activities and traveling off-site and such but when it came
right down to it, we loved the laid back atmosphere of the resort. I did
all kinds of research before we went but, honestly, when we got there, saw my
wife naked and having fun, all those plans went out the window. Is that bad?
The other couple we went with unfortunely had different thought on the whole
thing. No towels, Jamaican style food, power outages, and off-on
weather. Our feeling was more like, we're on vacation at a nude resort
in Jamaica, partying our ass off, what worries are there? OK, there was
a shortage of beach towels, if you're over Americanized you may not like the
Jamaican food (branch out, man), the weather was sunny then cloudy, and the
power went out a few times during the night ( who's getting up before noon
anyway). As far as the bartenders and waitresses, it's a crap
shoot. The Disco bar has terrible bartenders, total pricks. Can't
help you with directions out of the Disco, but believe me, they'd sure like
to. Don't expect to be served early or often there. Very good
service at the Terrace bar, little secret, if you can't wait for a drink the
bar is actually on the roof. Good service and polite at the main bar
depending on who you get, Omar there is new and very happy and helpful.
The nude pool bar is very good, but not great, again depending on who is
there. The quad bar is OK, just don't dance naked on the bar at 1am,
they don't like that much, just ask my wife. The piano barhad a great
bartender when we there. We would venture up there just to get a quick
drink and good conversation. I would have to say the greatest thing
about Hedo III is the people you meet. We rode with 2 couples on the bus
there thinking, "we wouldn't ever hang out with them" we saw them all the time
and got to know them much better too, just ask my wife ( refer to previous
dancing on bar incident). Bottom line, go for the people you meet.
Open minded people ( and I just don't mean lifestylers) see people for who
they are. The most fun you have may be settling up along a total
stranger at the nude bar having a great conversation, no matter that your
race, social status, religion, sexual-orientation, or appearance may lend to.
We're all just people. Hope to see new aquaintances again there in '07.
