Hedo III April 22 – 25, 2005

For my birthday, Steve decided that we needed a quick trip to Jamaica to help with our DIF and to give us some much needed time together from our hectic work schedules.  Since we have never been to Hedo III, he booked us for a last minute trip.

We have been to Hedo II many times and I thought that I would do a comparison between the two resorts.

Rooms and Resort

The rooms at HIII win hands down.  We really loved the bathrooms and taking a shower with the windows wide open.  Shower also has a mirror on the ceiling.  We booked ROH and ended up on Nude Ocean in room 637.  Great location to the nude side…

Overall resort much smaller than HII.  Got to meet many of the guests because of the smaller size.

There are also a lot of steps at HIII – be prepared for some climbing.

Nude Side

Very small compared to HII.  Very, very small beach.  One thing we did like was the sun decks.  Since the shore is pretty rocky, there are two decks that go out over the water.  That is where we landed.  Very relaxing listening to the water lap on the rocks.

Hot tub is very small compared to HII.  Hot tub at HII is as big as half the nude pool at HIII.  Every night we used the hot tub it was REALLY hot.  Too hot to sit in for an extended period of time.

Also not as much activity with the EC’s on the nude side as at HII.

Socializing at HIII

Don’t know if it was just the time we were there but nightlife very slow compared to II.  Hot tub at its peak had about 6 couples at most.  A LOT of singles more that we have ever seen at HII – most were fine however there were a few creepy guys.  One we had to call security about because he would not take no for an answer with the female of a young newlywed couple.

Overall, a much younger crowd at HIII.

Food

We thought that the food choices were very limited compared to HII and not as good.  We also had a hard time getting reservations at the restaurants at HIII.  We did end up getting one at Pastafari.  The antipasto bar is much better at HIII than at HII but the overall food was better at HII.

The main dining room was okay at best.  While breakfast is a favorite at HII, food was often cold at HIII.

Everyone has his or her favorite Hedo and we are no different.  While we liked Hedo III and it was a great get away, Hedo II by far is best for us.
