Luis & Sheryl - January, 2005

Hi ! We just got back from H3 on Sat. Where do I begin?? Well, out flight out there was not too pleasing. I don't think I'll ever fly US Air again. One of the flight attendants was really rude. But once we were on our way it was cool. We left on a red-eye Friday night and arrived in Jamaica Sat. afternoon. Our first little problem was that I grabbed the wrong carry-on bag when we deplaned and we didn't realize it until we got to customs. But it wasn't my fault.....the lady in first class grabbed our bag so her bag was the only black one left and I grabbed it thinking it was ours. Luckily, when we realized this and began our trek back to the airplane, we happened to run into my husband's black carry-on and the lady who took it by mistake. We exchanged bags and got a good laugh from it. We figured she would've been extremely surprised to open the bag at her hotel and find what was in it; being we were off to H3 and all. LOL So, anyway, our second little issue. We go to the Superclubs lounge at the airport and the guy at the desk there told us that H3 was oversold and we would have to spend our first night at Breezes. We were not happy! We "discussed" the issue and just gave up and said ok, whatever. Our third little issue was when the bag man grabbed our bags and started to tote them outside. We took carry-ons only specifically so they'd be with us at ALL times. So, right b4 we get to the door, this guy tells us that he's not being paid for his services so therefore we would HAVE to tip him. I'm sorry, but Jamaica or whatever, you never tell me that I HAVE to tip you. And what would I be tipping him for? Because he wheeled my bags so graciously? Not! So my husband gave him $2; $1 per bag....which is the norm. Boy, was he upset. He was even upset at the couple who gave him a whole $5 to drag their bags a whole 30 ft. Unbelievable! So, we board the bus and are on our way. The scenery is incredible. They scared me to death the way they drive on the opposite side though. Our driver was great. His name was Gary. So, anyway, my husband and I decided we weren't staying our first night at Breezes, especially since that's not what I paid for. So we gave Gary a little "extra" to drop us off at H3 anyway and he obliged. Once there, we had absolutely no problem checking in. Well, except for being put in the wrong room. I paid extra for the pool front view so I called the desk and they moved us with no problem. Sold out, eh? We're still trying to figure out why they tell people that and try to send them to another hotel. We ended up with the room I requested and it was great. Right next to the quad hottub. We didn't even unpack. We grabbed some coverings and made our way around the resort and to the nude pool of course! We spent about 98% of our time there. The nude pool is kind of small. The quad pool is pretty good in size. However, the set up of the buildings in the quad doesn't allow for a lot of sun, unless you hang on the top deck above the bar. The water was cold! But then again, I'm a whoos when it comes to being cold. Nude volleyball was lots of fun. The contests were a blast. My husband entered just about all of them. He won the "striptease contest". He also won "man of H3". I got "sexy toga". What an honor! :) He was my "human sundae". We managed to scrape up about 160 chips and traded them in for lots of liquor. There were some people without enough chips so I graciously gave them my extras. Hey, how much alcohol can one person carry anyway? The food was ok. Obviously you're not paying for the food at this place. The lobster night was good at the buffet. I don't even eat lobster and I did this night. Pastafari is a hit & miss. The first night it was great and the second time it was sucky. The Japanese place was great both nights. Scotch Bonnet is a hit & miss also. If you eat just breast of chicken like me, then you have to tell them you want breast and not just white meat. Otherwise, you get some yucky white meat. Luis took over 500 pics. He was like a little kid with a new toy with his new camera. The Piano Bar was ok but I couldn't stand to be in it more than 10 minutes or so because of the horrible smoke. Wish it were non-smoking, especially being enclosed. I wasn't impressed with the disco but the waterslide was great! I got my exercise on that. The gym is ok. Good enough for a quick & easy workout. The rooms are what I would say average at best. But who stays in their room, right? I loved that everything is in such close proximity. All within 5 minutes of walking. The entertainers are great. My husband says HI to Spike, Sweetness, JoJo and Destiny(?)They all have fabulous bodies and wonderful personalities. I didn't like the bartenders though. Especially at the main bar. They were a bit rude I thought. And they all make their drinks so strong that I couldn't even drink them most of the time. The lady bartender at the nude pool was great though. Sorry, I forgot her name. Nude painting was fun! Beware of their drink called Jamaican Delight. I had the worse headache after drinking those all day. So bad I had to stay in cuz I couldn't move my head. The other bad thing was that I think I had a little heat stroke my third day there. I had all the symptoms of the flu. The aches & pains and not being able to move. I was in bed at 8pm and slept until 8am. However, thankfully, when I awoke the next morning, I felt totally refreshed and ready to go. My sweetheart husband even stayed in with me the night I was sick. Thanx honey! So, anyway, all in all, the trip was great and we're ready to do it again soon! I may be even a bit more adventurous this time. What happens in H3 stays in H3 right?!! Oh, one more thing. We only met about 3 single guys there. They were all pretty cool except one who was just so annoying. We nicknamed him "the vulture". Beward of the vultures! So, now it's time for me to say HELLO to some of the wonderful new friends we made.
