Jim and Kelli

2nd trip July 8-14

This was our 2nd trip to H3. We went last year exactly one week later than this year.

The trip almost didn’t get started. We were to arrive on the 7th (but thanks to Hurricane Dennis), arrival wasn’t until the 8th and late at that with all the airports experiencing delays and cancellations due to TS Cindy as well as Hurricane Dennis. I did not like flying all the way around Cuba to avoid “the storm” as it added time to an already delayed flight and getting home was all we wanted asap!

Get to the resort, they have our room ready. Staff was busy sandbagging the lobby and sweeping water out. They REALLY need to do something about the slippery flooring everywhere you go. Last year I fell backward and hit my head on the tile. This year we had a few close calls (sober too). I was there maybe 20 minutes when walking by the quad pool I stepped on a piece of glass. Thankfully friends were there with a first aid kit because I was bleeding pretty good. Broken glass seemed to be a common occurrence all week long as we heard of other bleeding feet and finding broken glass all around the quad area on a daily basis. Although it rained pretty much the rest of the night on Friday, fun was still everywhere. The nude pool/hot tub were closed due to sand which blew/washed in from the hurricane and clogged the filters. It was fetish night and there is almost nothing that a little lace-up PVC outfit can’t fix! Bring on the rum and food. We had a swim-up room again this year, RM 311 which was moldy. I now know that room is “known for mold problems”. There should be a warning on the door lol.

Saturday, nude pool opens thankfully. Place is at low occupancy, I’d say 30-40%. Sun is out (yay). Pool is dirty. I mean when you are standing in it, you can not see your hips. They say they are working on changing the filter because it was clogged with sand, ok I can give them that, pools can be a PITA. So we lay by the nude bar drinking, laughing, playing and meeting new friends and hugging old ones. This is where my days blur into one another and I will do pros and cons.

Pros

Food was good at Scotch Bonnet, love my jerk chicken and pork as well as meat patties.

Drinks were all good, bartenders (esp. Beverlyn) was silly. Sunshine can make a killer Miami Vice and Bev can make a mean Bloody Mary with enough kick to wake Elvis!

Maid service was quick and good, no matter the time of day you hung your sign.

Front desk was always nice and pleasant.

EC’s although new, are working on it and made for many laughs over the week. Diamond is one sassy chick as is Spike and Flexx lol.

Room was big enough, we had hot water every time we showered which was 2-3 times a day.

A/C worked like a charm, I successfully froze Jim out every night!

Munasan, what can I say…. We love Spongebob and there is always more food than anyone can eat, well except maybe Tom. Just kidding!

Someone (Deb) had the staff reserve a section for my birthday. They did so and even brought me out a cake loaded with rum, sent champagne to the room, and coordinated a b-day song from the whole dining room. So cool to party in your birthday suit on your birthday.

Sunshine voucher presented to us promptly at check-out.

Cool Hedonism3 floats served as chair pads and pool/ocean floats. That was the best improvement.

The nurse was fabulous, but I still think this one should be under “cons” because I actually had to use her.

Cons

Broken glass everywhere L

Slippery floors (really should resurface the slick tiles). I can’t imagine how many falls there have been, we saw a few with crutches during the week.

The hot tub temps were never good, either freezing or just right for boiling lobster and that is no joke! Never once did we sit comfortably “inside” the hot tub at either quad or nude.

The pool was so dirty from Friday when we arrived until Thursday morning when we left (it was drained Wednesday evening and scheduled to open Thursday morning). By dirty I mean there were bandaids, sunglasses, glasses (drinking), sticks, leaves, and even a maxi-pad. Yes you read it right, GROSS. Problem was you didn’t know it was there until you stepped on it and were actually brave enough to lift it to the surface with your foot. Poor Tracy had to find it.

The grotto was never on the whole week we were there.

I was so sad after leaving this time. Last year was so much fun. I don’t know if it can honestly be all put on Dennis. I am hesitant to respond to “how was your trip” this time. We met so many new people and made such great friends that I can’t say I had a bad time. Just wish the glass and pools/tub were fixed pronto.

Deb, can’t wait to see our video and get pictures from “our band”. Think we might get some free tickets? You make costume nights so much fun! Oh I love my glow in the dark tandem biker.

Oh Canada, I salute you! And again, just in case you missed it. You know we won that body painting contest. Something to be said about a chick with two uhh yeah and a target on my uhh yeah.

John, I hope you read this. You’re my fan club and I am so lucky to know such a sweetheart!

Kip and Angie, I will never forget the quad pool that last day. My brain is burned with that image, yes that image. Thank you for my snicker bar, I was envied lol.

Dave (bad kid at camp) and Sonya (shopping buddy), Gloria (remember ice works best), Kim and Alex, Dizze, Christine, Tracy, M&M, all the newlyweds we met. You guys are what makes Hedo like a big extended family! We did indeed miss our buddy Scott, just Scott, and nothing but Scott. We will return, a different time of year and shorter stay, just to see if it was bad storm timing. Meanwhile we will try Desire, only to test the water, yes that pun was intended.
