Gary & Donna - May, 2005

Trip Report, Hedo III,  May 7 – May 15, 2005, fourth trip (I know it the end of Sep. Just call it DIF therapy)

This is our fourth trip and decided to do a trip report for the first time.  Maybe some things from previous trips slide in, but that’s the way my brain works at this age.  Less compartments and more junk space.

TRAVEL

Travel with AA last year and again this year was good.  But at 5am the lines were huge for flights.  We had a roller carry on and bag each, but were stopped by “The Gate People” and told our bag would have to fit in a square approx 3 inches wide.  Go back and check the bags.  We are waiting for the plane I see people with HUGE bags for overhead.   The rest of the world can bring all their belongings on board, cram them into the overhead, but, no, not me.  Donna asks why I am so cranky going to hedo?  The Gate People made me like this.  Flights were ok.  In Miami we met up with friends, Barry  & Martha  and had a couple rum miniatures on the flight.

The party has begun!

ARRIVAL

We scheduled with the Jamaica Geminis and Wild Womens week again this year.  The Geminis are a great group that anyone can become part of.  The fearless leaders are Dave & Carolyn, created the group just because they love it.  They do their best to meet the arrivals (as long as you don’t come in too late and everyone is part of a pool fixture by then) and I just love the way Carolyn says hello.  Of course the room is not ready(no problem mon) so we head for the nude pool.  We meet up with the Kiwis and Ted & Wendy.  What was that about luggage?  We don’t need no stinkin luggage.

IRIE

Yes it is.  We are home.  Barry and I just sit at the fountain surveying all, rum runner in our hand, with big sh** eatin grins.  You really realize what you have missed that first hour you are there and nothing else in the world matters. How can we be so relaxed and yet so excited at the same time?  The week is before us.

ROOMS, FOOD, ETC.

We were in quad, third floor, with vaulted ceilings.  The room was kept immaculate all week long.  Everything worked, only a few of  the tiny ants,  HOT WATER EVERY TIME WE WANTED IT.  Never had a problem with water even during the before dinner shower.  Our air conditioner was fine.  Maybe we were so far up the mold and ants don’t like it up there.  I think the food has improved since last year.  We are not picky eaters, but it seemed like a good mix of “U. S.” and Jamaican food.  I like to try the local dishes but need to come back to food easy on the system if I get too daring (too much jerk spice and my body makes me pay).  The grand gala spread was very good and lots of choices.  We ate at the Scotch Bonnet several times for a relaxed lunch with friends.  The nice thing is you can order the special (one day was a kind of battered fish) and an order of jerk pork in case you don’t like the fish.  I did like the fish and ate both!  Gotta love this place.  Pastafari has never been my favorite but the food was good and the company was great.  We had such a good conversation with good friends Dean & Lex, Sister and Lou, and Terri, you can crash our dinner anytime, the food was not the reason to be there.  We also had a very good dinner, more than I could eat, at Munasan, again with good friends.  We did get a special treat one late morning we were in the lobby and saw Ted & Wendy sitting with Michelle.   Michele asked if we wanted to be in a Jamaican cable tv show on the best restaurants in Jamaica.  Sure.  We thought we would sit and smile around the table at Munasan and pretend we were eating.  But, we were served a great lunch, just the 6 of us, of shrimp, very tender beef and lobster!  Since it is not lobster season, this was quite a treat.  A great lunch with friends and on tv to boot!  Even the midnite buffet seemed very good this year, and the plates of food after hot tub nites were good.  But I really luv to order a cheeseburger or chili cheese fries from the nude bar grill, bring it to the fountain and have all your friends pick at your food.  It truly is family.  We enjoyed the food all week, never really had a bad meal.  Remember, if you don’t like something, go get something else, it wont cost you anything more.

We had great weather, except it rained most nite around 2:30 am when we were in the disco or hot tub.  One nite we came out of the disco to rain.  No problem mon, time to go down the nekkid waterslide.  We did wake to rain storms on Thursday.  Everyone found alternatives, go shopping, sleep, play pool, or some people thought it would be fun to do 15 shots in a row.  People slowly fell out of that group, but they were having fun.  We did get a no sun voucher for that day.  Be sure to ask for it an hour or two before checking out, sometimes they have to get some signed.  That means we will have to go back next year!  (cant waste money)

We thought about doing water sports, going off campus trips, changing our routine.  Didn’t happen.  We missed enough fun by sleeping  3 hours a nite.  I hit the wall Tuesday, a day earlier than I usually do (getting old I guess), and missed pajama nite.  My one regret of the week.

PARTY

The Geminis are made up of people who have gone to hedo together, some who party together outside of hedo, and some who have never met before other than online.  This group started partying on chats, message boards, and webcams (thanks ladies) weeks before we ever got to hedo!     It was the beginning of a great week long party.  Some of the group had to leave early, some came in middle of week, but all were welcomed like family.  Hedo people are the best there are, and the Geminis are some of the best of the best.  Dave & Carolyn plan things for the group, with all participation optional.  We usually meet up at the main bar before dinner to show off the slut wear for the evening(even the men).  This group does stand out in their creativity and effort on costumes.  Shelly made the most creative bead outfit by hand.  WOW!  Glad she was skimpy on the beads.  Our school girl nite was impressive, and even the guys get into it.  Dougie needs to take his nerd act to a comedy club.  He had everyone crying, they were laughing so much.  Our first two years, we were shy about dressing for each nite, but we now proudly exhibit even at dinner.

The pier party and gift exchange for the Geminis was great this year.  With several birthdays (we wont tell who is how old) we needed decorated cakes.  We had the chocolate and whip cream and found several beautiful volunteer cakes to decorate and lick.  Not sure who enjoyed it the most the people eating or the ones being decorated.  The nice thing about hedo is if you want to party with the group, you can, but when you need to get alone with your honey, you can also

PEOPLE

This is what hedo is about.  Although, this year we all noticed more couples fighting, loud, public fighting, than we had ever seen before.  If you have a strong relationship, hedo is great.  If you have major problems in your relationship, hedo can bring them out.  If you are insanely jealous, you could have a long week.  We saw three people leave early while their mates stayed.  We would rather see more PDA’s and less fighting next year.  PDA’s were about the same.  We would never participate, of course,… or at least no one has it on film,… ok no one has it on moving film,… ok, maybe, but just once,… ok, twice,… ok, ok, but I saw you too!

We reunited with some great friends, and met many new ones.  Ted & Wendy got married, Ken & Donna stood for them, and we all got dressed to attend a beautiful wedding.  Wendy looked like a goddess in her gown.  And I have to give Ted credit, he dressed in a tux in that heat.  Ted you are a good man.  And you are a lucky man.  Forever Happiness to you both.

We also attended a beautiful renewal ceremony for Rob and Barb, nice people we met for the first time on the ride in.  And we all corrupted Eric and Laura by bringing them to the right (nude) side after a couple days.  Of course we had our routine of going to breakfast and we spent more time talking with people at the tables, then making our way down to the pool.  The ec’s were not as active this year, although they did have several good activities.  There were enough people creating fun and  energy each day, there was no lack of entertainment.  Our group had more energy than you could contain just in Nancy alone!  She came to hedo to have fun, and by golly she did!  Don’t know how any one person could keep going at the pace she did all week.  Her and Keith were kinda newbies and were great sports.  Keith, you da man!   I never saw anyone take over a show from the ec’s like they did Friday at the pool.  The entire pool crowd was fixed on them. Keith was good about taking his girlfriend Sharin (BAAAAA) with him.  She gets so deflated if Keith is not around.

We got to know so many people this year, and will have them as friends forever. We had a good time with Sister and Lou (always).  Thanks to Lou, I kept up my streak of security having to tell me I cant do something at least once each trip.  Since we are children, we have to get into a little trouble, but all good natured.  Dean and Lex helped us meet the sun rise one morning and I only wish we had more time to spend with them this year, our third together.  The Geminis grew to such a large group, someone was always around to talk to.  We were lucky again to have such a good mix of people and everyone meshed so well.  And again the single guys, Mr Rogers and Mr Dolphin were great.  Much is made of single guys, but they were a great part of the group.  They respected and were respected.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN ON THE ISLAND

Although all the women I met while there were wonderful and beautiful, there is only one redhead that can turn my head for 32 years and counting.  She is wonderful to be with all year long, but at Hedo she lets loose with her personality and her sensuality.  She truly makes me feel like when I first met her, a 16 year old.  I am like a kid each morning waiting for her to wake up so I can enjoy her all day.  As I said earlier, Hedo cannot fix what is broken, but it can help to enhance a relationship.  We are able to act towards each other without normal stresses of ‘real’ life.  We do more talking, touching, and enjoying each other during that week, than months outside Hedo.  Everything was not perfect all week, but it did not matter, we were alone in the midst of a hundred people.

Most of our group left a day earlier than us, and the last day seemed so quiet although the WWW group was arriving.  It is something to see that same excitement on peoples faces starting their week, remembering how we were only a week ago.  The bus ride home seems longer each year, one day we will be like peter pan and stay forever.  But until that time, May is just around the corner !!   Soon cum, mon.
