Carl & Anne - April, 2005

Anne & Carl (April 6 – 23/05) HIII

We found the flight, immigration, and bus ride uneventful.  We actually enjoyed the bus ride as there were other couples from Canada and we started the party in the Super Clubs lounge.  Too bad they chose the wrong resort and we had to say goodbye to them at the Starfish resort. Our bus driver was very entertaining and informative – Hey Admiral!

The resort can be summed up in one word – Outstanding!  The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are great.  The only problem I have with the rooms is that there isn’t a mini fridge in each room.  I’m not sure if they are available but it’s something worth looking into.  Nothing worse than drinking all night and waking up thirsty.  We stayed in the Quad and would highly recommend it.   We never had any problem with noise, just close the bathroom door and turn on the A/C.  You can’t hear a thing from outside.  The beds are very comfortable.  We had the two separate beds when we arrived and requested they push them together.  This was taken care of very quickly.

I did read reports that service could be slow but we didn’t see any example of this.  The bed was fixed almost immediately and one day our A/C wasn’t working and someone showed up to fix it within 5 min.  We have no complaints about the service.

The food was wonderful.  There was always a good selection to choose from at the main buffet and Sophia’s burgers and nachos in the nude pool were perfection.  We really enjoyed the late night buffet, we would take up a plate of wings & pizza and bring back to our room for our late night or early morning snack (however you look at it) after the disco and hot tub.  We can’t comment on the restaurants as in our 17 days we didn’t manage to go because we enjoyed the buffet so much.

Our routine quickly became, get up and go for breakfast, sun for 20 min or so, jump in the pool to cool off, get a drink(s)  from Clayton or Sunshine, after a few cocktails head over to the nude side and spend the afternoon drinking & have a burger and nachos, head back to the room to get ready for supper, after supper hang out at the main bar and chat with Conrad ( what a cutie) head to the disco, then the hot tub, then to bed and start all over the next day – HEAVEN!

Before we left home I had planned on doing all kinds of excursions, however, it seemed like too much trouble once we were there.  We were just as content to follow our routine.  We did manage to do the horse back riding which we both really enjoyed and highly recommend.  We also did the shopping in Ochos Rios which wasn’t as much fun.  They drop you off in a little strip mall in which all the stores carried the same items.  Items which you can get from the gift shop on the resort for cheaper.

We were on the resort for 17 days, which some people told us was too long and we would be bored.  NO WAY!  There are things that we wanted to do that we didn’t get a chance to so a return trip is being planned.  I wonder how long I would have to be there before I finally thought it was time to go home?

We were married on the 11th and I would like to send out a big THANK YOU to Karen the wedding coordinator.  Everything was perfect!  We had pictures and a video done and both were great.  We were really impressed with the wedding video, they did a terrific job.  We tried to make reservations for the Italian restaurant for that night but it’s not open on Monday nights.  It turned out that they moved the buffet to the beach and had a steel drum band it was absolutely gorgeous.

Out of our 17 days, it rained for about 4 days straight.  This did not damped the party however.  We just pulled on a baseball cap and headed for the nude hot tub.  Your wet already so what difference does it make? A little, or at times a lot, of rain never hurt anyone.

There weren’t as many PDA’s as I had expected, so we did our part to improve this whenever possible. Don’t forget to pack your waterproof lube.  It comes in very handy.  There were two separate occasions when hubby and I were having sex in our room, with the drapes open of course, that someone tapped on the door wanting to join us and when they didn’t get a response actually phoned our room to ask if they could join. We just said “No Thanks”. Hey you can’t blame a guy for trying.  I wonder how many doors he knocked on before he got an invitation.

One of my biggest concerns about our trip was the nude aspect.  We had never done this before and I knew it wouldn’t be much of an issue for my husband but I must say that I did spend quite a bit of time trying to talk myself into it. It was almost like an episode of Fear Factory for me.   I really worried about nothing.  On our first full day there we immediately stripped off  in the Quad and soaked up some rays and then once I figured I could handle it we headed for the nude side.   I’m glad we didn’t wait until the last day to try it.  The nude side is really where the party is and everyone is naked so you don’t feel out of place.  There are all shapes and sizes and you really only get noticed if you have clothes on.  My advice would be – Just do it!  And evidently Fear is not a Factor for me! LOL

Once we were there I quickly realized that I had over packed.  We brought 3 suitcases and 2 carry-ons.  Needles to say that next trip we may be down to  just one small suitcase.  Lets face it, you spend most of your time naked why drag unnecessary clothes with you.  A toothbrush and a towel would probably do.

I would like to send out a big thank you to some of the employees at the resort that made our trip that much more special, Clayton & Sunshine at the Quad Bar, Ivy & Sophia on the nude side, Conrad & Howard at the main bar and Suzette the lady who made up our room everyday.  You guys are the greatest!

I would also like to thank Denny for providing such a great site.  We’ll be in touch soon for another quote to get us back home ASAP.
