Aaron & Leslie - August, 2005

Names have either been eliminated or changed to protect the (not so) innocent.  :)

Monday morning, we wake up at 4am and head to DFW Airport.  It takes us really close to 3 hours to get there, which is fine, because our flight leaves at 9:30.  Apparently, drug dogs are being phased out to make room for these new high tech sniffer machines that can *supposedly* smell more than a dog can.  Your tax dollars hard at work, folks.  We grabbed a bite to eat at Bennigans, then head to the gate to wait for our flight.  I caught a lot of z's on the plane, and when I woke up, we were about 30 minutes from landing!!  Aaron took a bunch of pictures of Cuba and some clouds during the flight.

The line for immigration was INSANE, and we stood in line for about 45 minutes.  There is no A/C in Sangster, just three big fans.  Not enough...by far.  While we were waiting to get through immigration and customs, it started raining.  Cool!  Rain in Jamaica!!  The rain let up just long enough for us to get on the bus and then started back up again.  There was only one other couple on the bus heading to Hedo...and the only reason they were going was to "try something a little different".  We only saw them once the rest of the week...so either they left early, or they hung out on the Prude side all week.  The bus "attendant" said, "My name is Mikel, and if you need anyting at all, let me know.  And I do mean anyting".  It was sooooooo cool listening to the Jamaicans talk!

Oh, before that, let me first tell you that the roads in Jamaica are pretty crappy.  Pot holes everywhere...several stretches are gravel...it's just bad.  However, veterans said that the roads were tons better than they had been in years prior, which makes me glad that this was our first trip out there. Plus the steering wheels are on the right side of the cars and they drive on the left side of the road.  Culture shock indeed. :)

So we get to the resort and check-in.  I hand off my school supplies to the staff for their children, and get an unappreciative "thank you".  Hmph.  Our room was super clean and looked just like we expected it to from the pictures we'd seen online.  We change into our sarongs and head out to the Nude Pool.  There were a lot more people over there than I expected and I said to Aaron, "I'm a little nervous about this".  To which he replied, "Why?" and yanked his sarong off.  *sigh* OK.  So I get nekkid and we jump right in.  We wade up to the bar and order our drinks, and I start talking to two couples that were also sitting at the bar.  When we introduced ourselves, we realized that we already knew each other from DennyP and the Yahoo Group!!  HOORAY!!  (Much love and thanks to you guys for making Aaron's and my first nude (and Hedo) experience less frightening!)  We hung out at the pool for a while comparing tattoos and talking about life and stuff, then decided to get some food.  On the way back to the room, Aaron and I started talking about next year's trip and who we wanted to come with us!  WOOHOO!

While we were waiting for everyone at the bar, I chatted up a couple that was sitting there kinda keeping to themselves.  They were newbies to Hedo, and had chosen this as their resort to "step outside" of their comfort zone.  I asked them if they had made it to the nude side yet, and they said that it had been talked about, but nothing had happened as of yet.  I told them to meet us when they finished their dinner, and we'd go on over to the pool and get nekkid.

Dinner at the Terrace was....bad.  It looked like the cafeteria food they show in movies, and it smelled worse than it looked.  I had carrots and bell peppers.  But...it's a buffet, and buffets are only so good.  Aaron enjoyed his dinner, but he's pretty open to trying all foods at least once. The reggae band was awesome, and hearing the steel drums really knocked it into us that we were actually in JAMAICA!  After we ate, we headed to the bar for some pre pool drinks, where we met another couple from the Yahoo Group!  It was really awesome already knowing people via the internet...it definitely made the trip feel more familiar.  The couple from earlier joined us, and before we could head to the bar, Romeo and Spike (Entertainment Crew) dragged Aaron and us girls to the stage for some games!  We all split up in to two teams and did relay games like in elementary school.  Good times indeed.  Aaron and I ended up winning a bottle of rum each (!) and headed to the room to drop them off and then on to the nude pool.  The newbie couple even showed up!!  After 5 or 6 rounds, we all decided to climb into the hot tub.  *edited for content* and then we went to bed. ;)

I was WIDE awake at 7am and would continue that trend for the rest of the trip.  I felt like ass and swore off alcohol for the day and once we got showered and dressed, we headed down to the Terrace for breakfast.  Breakfast at the Terrace is MUCH better than dinner.  The food was wonderful.  There's a cook there who will make you an omelet with whatever you want in it.  *drool*  After breakfast we made reservations for dinner at Pastafari, and caught up with the other couples to go out on the catamaran.  Maybe it was the alcohol the night before, or just the simple lack of thought, but we didn't even think about the need for wind.  Which was non-existant.  So we headed over to the quad and lounged around in the sun for a couple of hours before heading to the Reggae Cafe for lunch.  I had the best cheeseburger and fries EVER and then Aaron and I went to take a nap.  Old bitches.  Smoked a little, then headed back down to the nude pool.  That's where we met D and D who are...amazing people.  They had gotten married on Friday and were spending their honeymoon at Hedo (it was also their first time).  These people were so much fun, we invited them to our already large group meeting for dinner at Pastafari.  Dinner was AMAZING.  Aaron was upset that they had run out of lamb, but was pleased with the dish he ordered (I don't remember what it was).  I had Penne *something Italian*.  We sat around and visited forever.  Tuesday night was PJ night in the Disco, so all of us ladies were at dinner in our lingerie.  I had to crawl out to get a salad at one point.  I sure hope no one got a picture of that. ;)  After dinner, we headed back for some ganja time with Dand D, the New Couple, and Aaron and me.  The disco was pretty cool.  90% of the music was hip hop (which I can barely stand), and the other 10% were old electronic songs that I love, but no one else got.  Got to see a lot of....interesting attire.   lol  We turned in pretty early 'cause Aaron had developed shin splints and I was tired from being up all day.  :-D

Woke up Wednesday and had a semi-late breakfast, then decided we wanted to go snorkeling.  It didn't start 'til 11:15, so we headed...where else?...the nude pool!  Got some sun, and floated around for a bit, then headed over for some snorkel action.  That was AWESOME.  I had never been before, and I will DEFINITELY do it again.  I wore a lifejacket, 'cause i suck at swimming, but I could still see the reefs and fishes.  It's absolutely amazing how clear the water is.  And how bright the fish are! Aaron is the swimmer in our duo and he took the underwater cameras and got up close and personal with the reefs and coral and fishes.  I can't wait to see the pictures.  When we finished snorkeling, the ECs were playing Retro Trivia, so I jumped in and schooled the older guys who were playing and won some HedoBucks.  After that we had lunch at The Scotch Bonnet (currently known as Reggae Cafe) and then headed back to the room for a nap.  I think.  I do remember going to the nude pool and playing voleyball and then chatting with one of the couples we had met online.  We were headed back to our room for our nap when we heard a lot of activity coming from the Quad pool, so we went to check it out.  The ECs were doing strip teases on the Pussy Fountain and then they had a booty shaking contest.  Which Aaron entered.  Nude.  LOL!!!  It was so awesome!  I couldn't stop laughing!  We ended up going to dinner with the couple we were chatting with at the pool that night at Munasan.  Which was also excellent.  And a ton of food.  They cook everything in front of you, and I'd never experienced anything like that, so while I wasn't very hungry, I was thoroughly entertained!  We had run into D and D before our reservations and made plans to catch up after dinner for "Name That Tune".  OK.  Wednesday night was "Retro Night/Pimp N Ho Night at the disco, so all day the theme was the 70s.  The way "Name That Tune" worked was they'd start playing a song, and when you knew it, you ran up to the chair, sat down, and gave the name and the artist.  I walked away with 30 HedoBucks. (I ended up claiming a bottle of rum and a bottle of Rum Cream with those HedoBucks!!)  It was SO MUCH FUN!!!  After that, I headed back to the room to get changed into my disco outfit, and then we met up with Dand D at the disco.  Hung out there for a while, smoked, chatted with Romeo (who is by far the kewlest EC ever) then headed to bed early again.

Thursday found us wide eyed and bushy tailed, and wanting to buy souveniers (not from the gift shop).  P.S.  The Cuban cigars they have at the gift shop?  Real.  But expensive.  We suggest buying them at the first stop from the airport to the resort.  USD$9 - and you can probably talk them down.  So after I met the New Couple for breakfast to see them off, I headed back up to the room to get Aaron and we booked an outing to Ocho Rios.  I think we went to the nude pool while we were waiting but I can't remember and neither can Aaron.  I do remember we had lunch at the buffet, which was extremely better than their dinner.  I even went back for seconds.  Ocho Rios was pretty neat.  Got a lot of cool stuff for family and friends.   Came back and headed to the coolest place at the resort and caught the tail end of an X-rated game of Spin the Bottle.  According to everyone who had watched the entire game, the nude pool was the place to be that day!  Then Aaron and I hung out in the pool chatting with D and D drinking and smoking.  We did a LOT of laughing during the week.  A lot. :)  Dan started talking about the big a$$ spiders down on the beach, and how he wanted to throw a lizard (not a gecko) into the web for the spider to eat, 'cause "he's only catchin' little stuff, and this guy's big".  lol  So Aaron caught a lizard and we headed to the nude beach to check out this spider.  Did I mention we were high?  This spider was massive.  So Dan throws the lizzard in.  It wiggles around for a second, then stops.  The spider doesn't move.  Cool, 'cause I was starting to feel bad for the lizzard.  We're all laughing when the security guard comes over and says, "That's too big for the spider.  Take your pictures and get him out of there".  So we do, and then Dan, who will make conversation with anyone starts asking her questions about a 40 leg bug (pronounced far-ty leg) that he'd heard about on the bus ride to the resort.  This starts the woman on a story she was so excited to tell about scorpions and the "40 legs".  I don't really remember the details though, but I'm sure someone does!  After that, we met back up with Girl D who had gone on a mission to retrieve sheets to make togas.  Aaron and Boy D started taking pictures of the sunset and Girl D and me.  We kept drinking and smoking and laughing and goofing off.  So much fun!!  We parted ways because we both had dinner reservations got some*edited for content* in, then we headed to Pastafari where Aaron had "the best piece of meat I've ever eaten".  He got the lamb.  I had the Lobster Pasta ... thing and it was good, but by the time it got to me, I was full from all the other courses.  We took a short nap then got into our togas.  We headed to the Piano Bar for the first time all week...and it was pretty lame.  It was really loud and I wasn't really feeling the music or the vibe,  so we went on over to the disco and waited for D and D.  There was a single guy who was being REALLY REALLY obnoxious, so we left and waited for D and D near their building.  They show up and we head back to the disco.  Get to the disco and there still isn't anyone there.  So we get some drinks and sit around visiting.  Then the single guy comes back over.  And gets obnoxious again, so Boy D starts messing with him.  That was awesome.  We go in and start dancing, and keep drinking and drinking.  Then the music starts to suck.  Again.  So we all head down to the hot tub.  Aaron and I had made a pact to stay up as late as we could and get as trashed as possible.  So far so good!  We all head to the hot tub and someone gets shots.  *shudder*  After that we were all like, "Ugh...no more shots."  lol  There were 8 or 10 couples in the hot tub, and after a while, everyone was *edited for content*.  lol ;)  Then D and D and Aaron and I got out and went out to the pier.  And what happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica my friends.  :)

We got to our room after 4am, and were up and out of the resort by 10am.  We were very very sad to leave.

Overall, the trip was wonderful and we will DEFINITELY be back.  Next year for sure.  :)

Some shout outs:

Dale and Beverly - Welcome to the Nude Side!!!  I'm so glad we could convince you guys to join us.  It looked like you guys were having a blast!  We really enjoyed your company.  Dale, stop watching the Playboy Channel for the articles...you can find much better stuff on the internet. ;)  We hope to see you guys next year!!

Barry and Lisa - It was a pleasure meeting you two.  I hope that your trip was as fun as ours was.  It looked like it was from what we could see ;-)

Last and definitely not least....

D and D - Congratulations on the Wedding!!  I'm so glad we got a chance to hang out with you, especially on your honeymoon.  With you two its blatently obvious that you are completely head-over-heels in love, and that makes me so happy to see.  Boy D, your completely hillarious banter kept us cracking up all week, and your ability to make conversation with anyone was really incredible.  Your "dont give a damn" attitude was really great and helped us relax a lot.  Girl D, (leslie here) I don't even know what to say.  I feel like in the three (ish) days that we hung out that we had known each other much much longer.  It was so nice chatting with someone who was on the same page as me with so many things (Fred and Wilma, our talk on the pier (which was AWESOME, by the way), and all those other random conversations we had), and I was very sad when we got on the bus to leave Friday after breakfast.  We know we've made lifelong friends with you two and look forward to the next time we can sit down together and catch up on life.  Thanks for allowing us to spend our vacation with you two.
