Rich & Sue - January, 2004

We just got back from our 2nd trip to Hedo III.  We went in February this year instead of January hoping for better weather, and lucked out.  We had only one day with a few hours of liquid sunshine, and it was a welcome relief! (Jan ’03 we had 4 days of downpour on our maiden trip to Hedo III).

The road from the airport is what it is, so just relax and enjoy the trip!  We had a great group on the bus, and the people that got off at Breezes were really wishing they were going with us to Hedo III!

The staff seemed to be more fun this time around too, or perhaps the crowd was just more willing to participate.  Besides the staff there were a couple of natural social directors I’d like to thank, Frank that would be you and of course “totally misunderstood” Brenda representing the great country of Canada!

We were unsure of how trip #2 would stack up to our maiden voyage.  We had such a hoot on our first trip, we were not sure we could have the same level of fun.  It was different, but equally fantastic.  You’ve heard it all before, what makes a great trip is the people you meet.  I encourage you all to be open to getting to know a variety of new people.  We hung with a group of about 8-9 couples (rotating as people left & new arrived) and a single guy.  Yes, a single guy.  He was polite, and fun.  All you singles get out there and mingle.  Play volleyball.  Talk to the husbands (too), you’ll get invited to dinner, better yet, make a reservation for a group yourself and invite some couples!   If you sit and ogle the women or get aggressive in the volleyball game you’ll be avoided.

Speaking of volleyball, these were our Hedo III nude pool volleyball rules.  Most players are drunk, the ball is slippery, if you’re in the hot tub pay attention so you don’t get creamed – and if you do, or your drink gets spilled – remember it was an accident, and there is another drink where that one came from!  I witnessed some indignant people get extremely upset because they got splashed…go figure that one out.  The score is always 5/5.  Let me repeat, the score is always 5/5.  This is not a competitive game (that one appeared to be in the Quad pool…) I saw a few single guys venting their sexual frustration in the volleyball game, the game ended abruptly and they were back on the sidelines.

It seems that more people are partaking of the theme nights, and that is great!  Toga, PJ & Fetish/costume night are the most attended.  I think it’s worth the trunk space to bring the costumes.

The return trip was a bit challenging.  The buses left the resort late & stopped for refreshments on the way to the airport delaying our arrival to the airport even more.  Once we got to the airport NWA had 2 flights leaving within an hour & the line was way too long.  We barely made it on the plane & it left late.  Of course that made our next connection too close for comfort, but they did hold that flight for us.  Our bags didn’t ride the same plane so we were left waiting for another flight to arrive for them to catch up…yes this was all the airlines doing, but had we left the resort on time it could possibly have been avoided.

All in all, “It’s All Good”, and trip #3 just might happen!  I’m going to go crawl back into my shell now…who that was in my body in Jamaica I don’t know!  Sunshine Sue  (for Sue & Rich 1/31-2/7/04)
