Paul & Margaret - August, 2004
We stayed at Hedo III for the first time from Aug
30th - Sept 5th 2004.
Our trip to Hedo III was uneventful, customs was
the usual for any country outside the US. We arrived at Hedo III along
with 2 other couples. They got their rooms with no problem, we were told our
room wasn't ready yet. When asked when it would be ready we were told to go
get a drink and something to eat. After about 30 minutes, sweating in our
clothes we had been upgraded to an oceanview au natural (building 6). Great
room, great view. We didn't manage to get much accomplished that first
day from 12 hours of travel starting at 3am, but we were ready to relax and
enjoy ourselves. The EC's were great and hilarious, the food was pretty
good, just watch the Scotch Bonnet, spicey is not the word for the jerk
chicken, asked for water going down and ice cream when it came out (and we
like hot food). The servers were pretty attentive to your needs.
Had reservations for dinner on 3 occasions while
there the last night our reservation with our friends from Pensacola, Florida
(Chris & Meda) were cancelled on us. We were told 7:30 reservation but the
receptionist put down 7:00. Needless to say we were not happy about having to
wait around until 10:00 pm to get pizza for dinner. If you make reservations
for any of the resteraunts make the person give you a confirmation card as we
were told by the manager.
If you plan to do any shopping off the resort take
the evening trip. It goes to Marguritaville and the shops there are much
nicer and better priced than the other places that they take you to.
About the only disappointment during our time
there was the waterslide was up and running for about 10 minutes the night we
got there and the next day was told it was broke. Never got to go down the
slide. Jamaican Water Slide Team would have been furious.
