We just registered today, and this is our 1st post. After
scanning this site everyday for 2 months for info that it turns out was so
helpful to us during our 1st trip, it's only right to give this report to
try and answer the questions we had and now have 1st hand answers to. Also,
all of us should at least give dennyp a shot at booking our trips for the
great work he does maintaining this site. Too bad we found it after we had
booked. That won't happen again. We were married at Grand Lido Negril 5
years ago. If we knew now what we know about Hedo, we would have considered
doing it at Hedo. The main point about Hedo is it is what you make of it. If
you want to party 24/7, you can do it. If you just want to chill for a week,
you can do that to. So with that being said, we will try to cover what we
thought, and our concerns. 1st, the bus isn't that bad. We arrived at the
resort about 9:30 pm and were the only one's to check in. The desk clerk was
great and even if he couldn't get us in building 6 or 7, he did get us in 5.
We had booked super select. This room was great. We were on the ground
floor, could see the ocean, and had great french doors. It is also the
quietest location. About 20 seconds from the nude pool. You do have to shut
you windows when you leave being on the 1st floor. Yes the curtains were a
little messed up, there was a drawer pull missing, and we only had 1 chair,
I think you're supposed to have 2 or a loveseat but we didn't seem to mind.
The Hedo mystic was already working its magic. The A/C worked fine, you just
regulated it by turn it on or off. We had plenty of water pressure and hot
water except one morning and even then it wasn't unbearable. The maid
service was good enough to leave a tip. The room was plenty big and was kept
clean. The worst thing is the lighting in the bath was very dim. We took one
of the bedside lamps in and it was fine. The grounds are beautiful and well
maintained. As were all the facilties, hot tub, pools, beach, ect. 90%
of the time the service was very good. The food at the buffets was average,
but in Pastafari's and Munasan it was very good. Scotch Bonnett was OK. Nude
bar food is fine. Also, when was the last time you checked into a hotel and
they didn't want a credit card? Only if you plan to make phone calls, we
didn't. The only people we tipped was the maid and anyone who handled our
bags. Our suitcase didn't make it but guest relations tracked it down and
had it at our room the next afternoon. Pack a pair of shorts and shirt in
your carry on with your toiletries. The large mugs came in handy. Security
was excellent. We felt safe day or night, together or separate. There were
some lifestylers there, but a simple no thanks was all that needed to
be said. You could then just be friends. PDAs were to be seen, all in good
fun. Wallys and Vinnys were not a problem. As many people have said, one of
the best things about Hedo is the people you meet. To Doug and Susan, who
invited us to dinner the 1st afternoon, Jerry and Joyce, 2 of the finest
people we have ever met, and Robert and Dana, I still can't believe you guys
are from Texas. You 2 are the best. Hedo really is a state of mind, you can
let loose, relax, and recharge your batteries in whatever way you want. We
thought Paris was the sexiest place we have been but there's just something
about Hedo. Maybe it was the wild, naked, drunken party going on all the
time. LOL As you can tell, this was written from a couples point of view, so
if you're a couple in love, go to Hedo and have the time of your life. The
only problem some people may have is with the beaches. There really just
points of entry to the ocean. But Hedo seems to be a pool place anyway so it
wasn't a issue for us. To all the people we didn't get to know as well as we
would have liked, see you in Sept. We know this report isn't a blow by blow
of our trip but hope it helps some of you sitting on the fence with some of
your questions. By the way, what happened to Philly? Sorry, can't recall
your names, sure you understand. Go and as it was written with flowers on
our bed one night, HAVE FUN.
