Rookie Trip

WOW!  We had planned this trip for so long, it was almost and surreal feeling when it finally got here.  We, along with 12 other friends and family members traveled to Hedo III for our wedding.

Plane ride and bus ride are the same old stuff that everyone writes about in the trip reports.  We did enjoy seeing the countryside, but now that we've seen it, a helicopter ride would be a nice offering for subsequent trips.  TimAir should really consider expanding service to Runaway Bay.

Ok, onto more important things.

Check-in:

Wonderful, our room was ready and overlooking the nude beach.  The staff was great and helped us get the lay of the land.  We were wisked off to our room and tipped the baggage guy in the privacy of our room.

Room:

The room was so nice.  It was freezing when we got there, so I quickly learned how to work the remote controlled AC unit.  A tip for some first timers, use the "dry" setting, it helps control the humidity alot better than the regular setting.

Bars and Restaurants:

We found the food to be very tasty.  The Japanese and Italian places were great.  The main buffet was good too.  They tried to change it up enough so that you didn't get bored.  We both had to have our daily omelets, "William the omelet guy" as we call him, is still being talked about today.  Service at the bar could be slow at times, but as long as everyone was patient and friendly, it was no problem, mon.  Drinks were great, I was addicted to rum punch in a short amount of time, but tried many other drinks to keep it lively.  Scott was a Red Stripe customer all week.

Beaches:

Both beaches were great.  Since our room overlooked the nude beach, I got to see right away that the people hanging out there were not supermodels.  Although we had never done the "nude thing" before, we felt very comfortable in making the decision on going for our first outing.  The nude beach was so private and very relaxing.  It got a little wild on the pier when the Breezes boat buzzed us.  Saw a few PDA's, but for the most part it was pretty tame.  The prude beach was great, ladies were free to go topless and nobody said a word.

Wedding:

How many people can say that the hardest thing they had to do for their wedding was show up?  We can.  After breakfast on our first morning there, we found Karen and Leslie (the wedding coordinators) and went over all the paperwork, arranged for the pictures and video, and picked out the flowers.  That was it.  They took care of everything.  We did opt to pick our own music, but they would have even taken care of that for us.  The ceremony was at 4:00, at 3:15 one the EC's found us at the pool and reminded us of the time, oops, good thing all we had to do was shower and dress.  Pictures and video were ready the next morning and could not have been nicer.

Overall:

We were totally impressed by everything and could not have had a more enjoyable time.  Thankfully the family members came and went quickly so we were really able to enjoy the resort to the fullest extend.

Now, the hardest thing we have to do is find the time to go back next year.
