Sal & Patty - November, 2003

Hedonism III – November 22-29, 2003

Wow, what a great vacation! Would return again and would recommend it to anyone who is comfortable with who they are and in their relationship.

The Staff Thank you to all the staff who made our first trip to Hedo III so much fun and very relaxing. Othello started us off right by showing us to our room and explaining everything. Winston was a hoot, Destiny was all fun and games and sex, Spike and I compared shoes and now I know why he wears those boots and not his Gucci’s. J  Romeo, Sweetness, Slick and Ebony – hope I’m not forgetting anyone – they are all very hard working and full of energy. The restaurant manager David was very friendly and gracious. The morning cook at the carving station was so sweet and accommodating.  In fact there was not one member of the staff that wasn’t absolutely great. A special thank you goes out to Michelle Smith-Davis PR Manager. My husband had taken a test that was a culmination of 4 years of schooling the day before we left. Michelle went above and beyond the call of duty to help him get to his e-mail when the office computers were down. Of course he was anxious to know whether he passed. Her assistance made his day when he found out all went well.

Friends Of course we can’t forget to thank our friends Pam and Court who not only told us the truth about where they were going in Jamaica but invited us to go along! They are the best traveling companions ever and the trip wouldn’t have been the same without them. Love you guys!

The Resort The resort is beautiful. The grounds were kept up very nicely. The rooms are nice, the beds more comfortable than I expected and we usually had hot water for showers. We are trying to figure out how to install one of those mirrors on our ceiling at home. We are sure they are magic because they make the women seem slimmer and the men more well endowed! Taking a shower with Destiny yelling up at “Sal is that you? I see you!” is an experience!

The Food and Drink The food at the main dining room was good. Not spectacular but good. I wanted to try curried goat and was able to. It was very good. Pastafari food was quite good but the portions seemed a little small. Munahana was a fun experience and the best food. Scotch Bonnet was a nice place to get a quick lunch and maybe try an authentic Jamaican specialty. The bartenders were outstanding. They always had a special concoction for the asking and were quick and friendly. The drinks were plentiful and well made. I really miss my morning hummingbird L The body shots are not to be missed. Rum cream tastes so much better on a……well, you know!

BeinNekkid As many people are my husband was very apprehensive about taking his clothes off. When we first met he was so self-conscious he wouldn’t even take off his shirt at the beach. He took the plunge the first morning and never looked back. He was comfortable at once and was playing volleyball and flirting audaciously very soon after. This was a very safe place to explore new boundaries and learn more about yourself.  The atmosphere, while sexually charged, is completely non-pressure. We felt free to be ourselves and sit back and relax. It is what you choose to make it. A word of warning – if you and your SO are not in a good solid relationship Hedo is not the place to be. There are temptations everywhere and a couple that is insecure with each other could have real problems. As for us – we came home (very reluctantly) more in love than ever.  It is surprising how difficult it has been to get back in the rhythm of the real world because we were so relaxed and carefree.

The People We can’t say enough about the wonderful people we met and spent time with. All of them meant so much to us and we hope our paths will cross again. We will certainly stay in touch. We enjoyed meeting and talking with Chris Santilli. Would never have known the joys of a hot tub car wash without her! We met people from all over the US, Canada and France. Shelton, (Don’t worry, your girlfriend probably isn’t reading this) Scott and Cathy, Sue and Don, Mary and Bill, Debbie and Bill, Tom, Mark and Michelle, Mark and Lynn, Tom and Nicole and others added to the experience. Everyone is very accepting and friendly. It is amazing how few inhibitions you can carry with you naked. Every age, size and shape of person were represented and it was a joy to talk with each one of them.

Ganja It is there if you want it but be careful. It is still illegal in Jamaica.  Thanks to the fine gentleman who spent his time behind the nude bar for the offer. Would have taken you up on it if not for the random drug testing.

PDAs If this is something you are not comfortable with then you might want to stay away from the pool and hot tub after dusk. Saw one woman service 4 gentlemen in the hot tub then calmly walk back to her room with her husband (not one of the 4) and a very big smile on her face. Saw many couples enjoying each other and playing with others as well. Some girl on girl action, no guy on guy that we were aware of. It happens. If it offends you don’t look. We never felt any pressure to participate. Offers were made and no one was offended by a no thanks.

The Pools and Hot Tubs The pools were well kept, as were the hot tubs. The temperature was somewhat inconsistent in the tubs, but never really uncomfortable. The hot tub was the perfect place to be the couple of days it was cloudy and rainy.

The Piano Bar We had an absolute blast at the piano bar. Our friends Pam and Court love to sing and we all enjoyed the piano man’s talent and sense of humor. No one on earth can possibly say as many things with an Oh Shit as he can!

The Disco The disco was OK. We are not big disco fans so it was not our favorite place.

The Slide The slide was fun and fast (Or so I hear, my bravery is limited to taking my clothes off, not scary fast slides) but there is a danger of bruising if you go down naked.

The Workout Area There are some good weight machines, free weights and exercise equipment. Also a good place to get towels when they are scarce at the pools.

Scary Stuff There is one thing that needs to be mentioned. We went into the ocean at the nude beach and while it was not deep once I was out in it about half way a very strong current pulled me quickly out towards the rope. If I had not been able to grab the rope I would have been thrown against the rocks or out into the ocean. A sign needs to be put up warning of the strong current.

Comment We also felt strongly that the nude and prude sides need to be switched. The space is not utilized well. Whenever we went near the prude area we noticed it was more or less deserted.

OK, so this has been kinda wordy. Sorry for rambling but we just had such an amazing time we wanted to share it with everyone and re-live it in our minds even if it was only a week ago. A big thank you also to Denny P for this great site. We knew exactly what to expect from time spent on the boards.

Please feel free to e-mail with any questions or comments.

Respect.
