Rick & Jeanine - October, 2003

Our very first (and not last) visit to Hedo III was Oct. 4 to Oct 11 2003.  Ill try and make this as short & descriptive as possible while trying not to bore anyone.
The Flight:
We flew Air Jamaica First Class out of JFK in NY to MBJ in Jamaica.  Both airports have really nice First Class lounges that have TV's, computers, food, drinks, couches, chairs, tables etc, so the couple hours that you have to kill before boarding go by real fast.  The flight themselves were on-time and un-eventful and Air Jamaica really does a great job taking care of their customers.  We are looking forward to flying with them again in the future.
The Transfers:
We decided to take International Airlinks flight to Hedo III instead of the bus.  So happened another couple on our flight also decided to do the same, so it only cost us about $80 each.   They fly a Cessna 206 for those of you who know the differences.  Its basically a 6 seat, 3 blade, single engine prop plane.  The flight was only about 15 or 20 minutes and they have a nice bus waiting for you at the grass strip and its no more than a 5 minute ride to the resort entrance.  We landed at MBJ at 10:45am and we were checked in at Hedo III by 12 noon, which isn't bad considering that includes de-boarding, baggage claim, Customs and Immigrations.  The flight was beautiful and smooth and the view was spectacular.  You fly right over Hedo III and get a great view from the air, so have your camera's ready!
We took the bus back to the airport and I personally would never do that again until the road is done (maybe 2006).  To us, the ride was miserable, but I personally hate long car rides even on smooth roads, so the $160 per couple for the flight was well worth every penny of it in our minds.  Just as an FYI, we did not stop on our way to the airport and it took about 1 1/2 hours.
The Resort:
CHECK IN:   No problem mon!  They were ready for us even though we were there at like 11:55am, so no complaints.
OUR ROOM:  Our particular room (# 735) was OK.  Not perfect, but the resort is over 10 years old now, so its about what you would expect when you look at it from that point of view.  They are clean and the TV and A/C work great, so for the amount of time that you actually spend there, they are plenty nice.  Some of the issues we had were the water pressure being intermitent and it was tough to get the water temp just right......it usually went from comfortable to really hot in waves, so be careful.  It was very tolerable though, so do be scared.  This was just an observation though.  What did break was the handle on the bathroom sink, but it still worked so it wasnt a big deal.  The A/C works so good that if you keep the temp. too low, it will freeze up at night.  If you wanted too, you can literaly turn the room into a meat locker!  We did hear various complaints from other guests, but truly nothing major and nothing that they didnt take care of when bought to thier attention.
GROUNDS:  Spectacular!  The gardens were beautiful.  Jeanine loves gardening (actually she went to school for that) so she was in awe.  So many different flowers, trees, birds and animals.  It was really nice.
POOLS:  All the pools were nice and clean but we really didnt spend much time in any one other than the nude pool.  Actually, we're not sure how anyone would be anywhere but the nude side, since all the action is over there.  The QUAD pool was mostly empty and the prude pool was truly empty....except for the occasional water slide user.   Be careful, the tiles around the pool can be very slippery, so take your time!
BAR SERVICE:  Fantastic!  Great choice of liquors, all top shelf including Johnny Walker black or red.  If anything, you will find yourself asking for them to lighten up on the drinks since some of the bartenders tend to make the drinks really strong.  Only complaint was that occasionally the Red Stripe was a little warm, but that was the exception rather than the rule.  Ask for Clayton when there...he moves around, but such a nice guy!
FOOD:  Great!  Alot of variety served so there is something for everyone.   Try all the restaraunts, they are each a little different and each very good.  Gotta do the Jerk Chicken, Beef Patties and Jerk Pork at the Scotch Bonnet though, they were tasty.
ENTERTAINMENT:  This to us is where Superclubs set themselves apart from all the other places we have been.  Glen at the Piano Bar was amazing (thanks Glen for letting me play a bit.....Ill remember more than just Elton John and Billy Joel next time, I promise).   All the EC's were great!  Spike, Scorpion, Teddy Bear, Destiny, Sweetness etc.....
The People:
OMG...where do we start!?!?!  We met so many amazing people, some of which we will probably be friends with for a very long time to come!  Amy and Paul, what can we say?   Its too bad you guys are not so close.   No matter what though, we will keep in contact with you guys.  Kevin and Lisa, Kiesha and Paul, Rob and Suze, Dottie and Steve....it was great meeting  you guys and I also hope we can keep in touch and meet up one day...if nothing else @ Hedo again in the near future.   Anyway, the mix of people there is perfect.  If we had to pick an average age, I would say 30ish was about right while we were there, but there was someone there for everyone to relate too.  Anything from older and/or heavier people to perfect '10' model types.  It was everything we expected and more!

Overall we had a fantastic time and this was the first time that we actually did not want to go home and were sad to leave.  The weather was nice each day and the people and staff were even nicer.  Whatever your into, you will find it there.  We did find that a simple "no" meant "no" and that most everyone was very respectful.  We had a fantastic time, but as I've heard here before, and now we can say it too....what happens at Hedo, stays at Hedo (and of course between the people that it happened with)  (-:
Single guys can be annoying at times, as they just tended to sit around and watch and occasionally overstep thier bounds, but someone is always there to put them in thier place if you dont.  I have to stress though that this was NOT a major problem!  Just simply an occasional annoyance.  Im actually not sure why they go there since most everyone there is with thier significant other, and although most people play in one form or another, most are very much into thier spouses/boyfriends or girlfriends.
Oh...dont forget to "just do it"!  Dont waste anytime getting naked.  Dont be hesitant or scared because you will feel comfortable almost immediately!  We have never done the 'naked' thing before and it was just a matter of minutes until we felt right at home and didnt want to put on clothes!
If anyone has any particular questions about anything, please feel free to ask......

PS...We even got to meet Denny P himself!  Not sure you will remember us Denny, but we wanted to say HI anyway!  Sorry this dragged on and on, but we have so much to say and didnt even say it all here.  We have pics also, if anyone is interested, but they are not much more than what you will find on this and most other sites about Hedo....but they are available if you want them.
*  Dont forget the rum cream body shots on the P**sy Fountain!
