Well, we made it through another year at Hedo 3. The group was smaller but not any less fun. Thanks to all who decided to join us and make our trip that much more enjoyable. I will not go into the bus ride to the resort, etc. etc.
First, the "negatives"...this was our 5th. time at hedo 3 and may well be our last. Why, oh why can they not correct some things there! Lord knows we pay enough. Example: Buy Thermostat's for the F--kin hot tubs. Train the staff to say "thank-you" and "your're welcome" and maybe give ME the right of way in the dining room, when I'm trying to return to my table with two plates loaded with food...When you clean my room, clean it...We saw the same dirt and grime for a week. When you give me a room with a fridge and I ask for it to be STOCKED with water and champagne, stock it! I do not need 6 beers and 8 pepsi's, thankyou...And what is the big deal if I want to have a few bottles of champagne to take back to our room (MR. MAIN-BAR-MANAGER), to entertain our guests/friends...Who came to YOUR RESORT as part of OUR DIRTYBANANA group. Paulette, yes you did come thru, but why all the hassle. Did we not pay enough to you...SUPER CLUBS??? While I'm at it, give the daytime bartenders, (nude side) lessons on how to treat a guest too, especially Suzette. I was glad to see NEW GIRLS in training, like Casandra...Who, STILL knows how to smile...And Rochelle, in the main dining room. Now, there is someone who deserves a job!! Sadly, she'll probably continue to work for only "FOOD" and "BUS FARE" and never be hired on. Do you believe that...Mr. Tourist, 1st. time Hedo Guest?!! Think about that.
Ok, sorry to sound so negative, but I was disapointed this year and somewhat last year too. Cut backs are inevitable, but where were the cut backs in the my...Trips pricing? I even missed the smaller straws for drinks! I was told "not environmently friendly Mon", bullshit! Just cheaper to use the bigger ones. Right? Talking about cheap...No song books at the piano bar???!!!Poor GLEN. He does such a good job. And then they do not give him his main tool to get the guests involved??? WOW.
They do try to treat people right but fell short at the MANAGER'S party. What the F--k was that? You used to meet the WHOLE staff, on top of the Scotch Bonnet, with a band playing at sunset. It was nice for EVERYONE to see who runs the place, not just the returning guests, ya know?!! My whole feeling is that this resort has now dropped to a "3-STAR" Resort. Too bad, as it could become the very best to travel to spending your Thousands, of hard earned dollars
POSITIVES, yes there are some. The food is still great, especially the lobster! good variety for us. Lots to choose from. Thankyou. The resort looks great, the foliage is really growing and filling in beautifully. Nice job of trimming and grooming also. Hats off to that staff!! Speaking of staff..."NOLA"...boy KEVIN, I bet you wish you could clone her. Nola, you are one person I look forward to seeing on my return each year. Your service is amazing. Your ability to get things accomplished is outstanding. Congratulations to you...And yes we really did name our sailboat in your honour. Thankyou...And by the way...When you sing the "REDEMPTION" song, those are real tears in my eyes. Do not ever change, you are an inspiration to me and all who work for you.
Need to mention GLEN at the piano bar. GO SEE HIM! Have the time of your visit there. He is fantastic. Say hi from us and show him your PIE!! OH SHIT.
The people you meet is great. Fun people who share in similiar interests. Like...NUDE SLIDE RIDES!!! Now that is fun! It is the best when they hold up the towell and you run past for another run. Ha Ha Ha. Sorry MON!
A big positive for me this year was the bus ride back to the Airport. Why? You ask? Well, I take credit for deciding to get everyone to strip naked before we got to BREEZES to pick up more of their guests to share OUR bus. Bad move on their part. Boy, the front of that bus was crowded! However, lots of room in the back with the Dirty Bananas from HEDO!! You should have seen the PRUDES when "DISCO-LEE", shook his bare French-Canadian ass out his window at them. I think they'd rather have had their own bus. It was a long ride for them, but went quickly for us!!
For those of you reading this and trying to decide if this IS the Resort for you, read ALL the TRIP REPORTS here at DENNYP.COM. Do not be affected by my personal feelings. It is a great spot to go. Hell, we were there 5 times. We were there "SEPTEMBER ELEVENTH", WE saw the effect. Maybe, it just has never recovered, as so many others.
Sad though, as we go to a place like HEDO 3 to forget our real lives. Spend HUGE $$$ and live,(hopefully) like KINGS/QUEENS for a week. We like to party all night and endulge in a whole different world from ours. We try things we'd never imagine doing back home. Fantasies are fulfilled here. The only regrets are having not fulfilling them...and realizing THAT when we return to our NORMAL lives.
