Mike & Lia - December, 2002

Lia and I just returned from our short trip (4 days) to Hedo 3. I wanted to start off by thanking Denny P. for putting together a common meeting place for all the good info out there. Secondly, I want to thank all of the people who have posted questions and answers. The information all of you provided is greatly appreciated. Now on to the review:

Lia (30) and Mike (27) are from Massachusetts just south of Boston. This was our first visit to Hedo 3 but it won't be our last. We arrived on 12/26(toga thursday) via Air Jamaica and took the scenic 1 hour 15 minute ride to Hedo 3. Of course we stopped for some Red Stripe Lights along the way. After dropping off a couple at Grand Lido Braco, we arrived at Hedo 3 about 30 minutes later. My first thought was Nice lobby, like the bright colors. Lia was too busy checking out one of the Entertainment Coordinators, Lust, who she informs me was wearing stripped undys. Checkin a breeze.

Room - Really nice. Suprised at all the colors. CD player worked fine and so did the television. Lia loved the jacuzzi tub.

Food - All of the food was great. We ate at the Main restaurant, Scotch Bonnet, Pastafari, and the Nudi Grill. Great food and variety. The Snack Attack from Midnight to 3 am was very impressive. Lots of variety. I've been on cruise ships that don't have that variety at those hours. Kudos to the kitchen!

Grounds - Simply Beautiful and well maintained. Although the floor in the gift shop had me wondering if i had drank too many Appleton and diets.

Pools - The main pool was beautiful, but that pool table is unforgiving. It took Lia and I 30 minutes to finally sink the 8 ball. The waterslide was thrilling. The Nude pool was nice as well. The quad pool is just a hidden gem - beautiful layout with a deck above very relaxing.

Jacuzzis - Nice see through jacuzzi by the main pool. The nude jacuzzi was nice as well. However, it did fill up nightly. Definately saw some interesting things. If the nude jacuzzi is just to full, head over to the Quad jacuzzi. Just as nice and less people.

Beaches - From research prior to our trip, we knew not to expect a beach like you see in Cancun (our favorite beach) Even though the prude beach is small it's nice. We had heard the nude beach was small as well. Lia and I actually loved it. It was so COZY and private. Now for the only complaint of our trip ---> the bottoms of both beaches are not the nicest. While there are some sandy spots, there are alot of rocks and seaweed plants etc. If Hedo 3 were to cleanup these, they would be even better beaches.

Entertainment - Lia and I loved the entertainment. The ECs did a great job. The piano bar and disco were lively. The activities had some spark to them which we liked.

People - The people were great. I'm talking from the guests to the grounds keepers they were great. We met many people from dennyp.com including Jack, Mo, Steve, Jeff, Janice, Sumi, Chin. It was great meeting everyone, we just wished we could have stayed longer. Also, probably staying sober would have helped us recognize more people.

Booze - This is something I always check out when visiting an All Inclusive resort. Let me say I was impressed by the spirits and liquers offered. Grand Marnier, Drambuie, Courvosier VS, Stoli, Absolut, Tanqueray, Beefeater, Chivas to mention a few. You can always judge the quality of an All Inclusive by the liquer offered.

Hedo 2 - On our third day (saturday) we got courageous and decided to do the Negril sunset tour for $75 pp. The bus left Hedo 3 at 8:30 am and we got back at 9:15 pm. It made for a long day but we enjoyed it. We had never been to Hedo 2 nor Negril and that was our motivation for going. This excursion took us to Hedo 2 where we were free to do what we wanted for 3.5 hours. Lia and I toured the resort drawing comparisons and contrasts. We even walked over to Sandals Negril and checked out that resort too. In general, we liked Hedo 3 more. Although the nude pool area is nice at Hedo 2. The bottom of the nude beach at Hedo 2 was extremely rocky! The prude beach was better. The excursion then took us shopping for 30 minutes in Negril. Afterwards, we visited Rick's Cafe. You gotta love that 48 foot drop - what a feeling! Then we returned to Hedo 3 with a quick stop at Margaritaville in MoBay. Overall the tour was long about 6 hours in a bus. But we are glad we did it. We now have seen Hedo 2 and Negril and we agree that we like Hedo 3 more.

Conclusion - Lia and I absolutely loved our trip. We will definately come back and stay longer the next time. It was also great meeting everyone. Ya mon everyting be irie!
