March 19-27

I won't bother with the trip to and from, suffice it to say it was Horrible. But, once we got to hedo, it was well worth it.

This is the report to read if you are on the fence as to whether or not hedo is for you. I will start by saying that we are definitely not swingers and this was one of our concerns when we considered going to hedo, that there would be swingers everywhere and we would constantly be getting hit on. This was far from the truth. Are there swingers, yes, do they come on to you if you are not in to it, maybe but a simple we are not into the lifestyle is all it takes. This does not mean the couple would leave and move onto someone else, it just means that you continue to have a very pleasant conversation with that understanding. If you are respectful of their lifestyle they will be respectful of yours. Everone was incredibly nice and respectful of everyone else regardless of what you were into, and you are free to be into whatever you want.

Second, we were unsure about the naked thing. What we were really looking for was an all out 24 hour party but were not sure if we would want to do that in the buff. When we got to the resort we sat down at the main pool and ordered our first drink. There were only about 6 people there so we figured everyone must be checking in and getting settled and would be down later. After a while I asked the bartender (the whole bartending staff is incredible) where everyone was as the resort was supposed to be sold out. He told me they were at the other pools and directed us to the quad pool. So, on we went to our next spot. The quad pool is awesome, it has a huge pool bar and sun deck. We sat down and immediately started to meet people and proceeded to get a little tipsy and have generaly a very good time. There were about 20 people there and again we asked where was everyone? We were told at the nude pool. So we did our sheepish walkthrough at the nude pool and low and behold practically the entire resort was there, and buck naked! We still were unsure and went back to the quad and finished the day. That night we experienced the very good food, the piano bar and the disco, and discussed that we had made an excellent choice coming here and were having the time of our lives. But then.....

Day 2. It was at this point I convinced my wife that everyone (including some people we had met) were over at the nude pool and we needed to check it out. After some little convincing we were over to the nude pool and naked. Now I could go into all kinds of rationalizations about being nude and how it was cool, suffice it to say: we barely put our clothes on the rest of the trip. If you have never gone nude before this is an experience where you are trully missing something. Debbie (our friend from the bus ride over) was trying to convince us to make our way over there since we got on the bus to the resort and was very proud when she saw us over there. Being nude no one can make any judgements about anyone else, you could be talking to a doctor or a cashier and never know it. Believe it or not, what we saw, most people look better out of their suits than in them. There was everyone from the 70 year old grandma to the 22 year old personal trainer.

I am not going to take it day by day, I will just say that we spent the rest of our time Including the extra day we decided to stay) drinking , hanging out, dancing and singing at the piano bar.

Were there public displays of affection? Yes. Was it a big deal? No. If you don't want to see then don't look. There was one guy who just could not stop, we will call him Sonny Boner. Sonny had sex with his wife more times in 2 hours than I think I could manage in 2 days. This was too much even for Hedo and he did get kicked out for a while.

The best thing about Hedo is the people, all our friends Joy & Mike, Wade & Penny, Terry & Rick, Kerry, Deb & Pete, Ray & Annie,Larry & Susan, Lou & Mary Katherine (thanks Lou for helping with my 'experiment'), Redmond & Bernadette and Ralph and Rhonda (sorry if I missed anyone we met so many). This is what makes Hedo the best place in the Carribean.

Bottom line, we had the time of our lives and plan to go back as soon as possible. The entertainment staff and the bartending staff our outstanding and the food is very good to excellent (Pastafari).
