Lou & Sister Mary Katherine - October, 2003

Sister Mary Katherine & Lou October 25 – Nov 4 – 2003

Arrival and Departure - Leaving Toronto our plane was delayed by 2.5 hours, overbooked and we couldn't get seats together. Air Canada didn’t have enough food on the plane for everyone and they wonder why it is bankrupt. Finally landed in MoBay at 6:30 p.m. and it was pouring, no problem at least we are here. The flight attendant said don’t go out this door (of the plane) it is raining, I inquired if it was not raining at the other door. Go figure. Get through customs and immigration, wait for checked luggage (first time) go to get a cab and then told that the roads are closed from the Airport and we would have to take a detour through the mountains coming out just around Falmouth. That little “detour” took about 2 hours. Glad though it was taken since we finally arrived safely at the resort at about 10 or so.

Coming home, plane was on time, not overbooked (only approximately 24 people on it) attendants were great, and we were to land early. Unfortunately that didn’t happen since there was so much fog in Toronto flights were having to circle around Buffalo to get clearance to land. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough fuel to continue to circle so were then diverted to Cleveland for refueling and then back to Toronto. Finally landed in Toronto at about midnight.

For the first time ever, encountered RCMP all over, some idiot had decided to apparently pack something “extra” in his checked baggage. The airport personnel in Jamaica had alerted Canada Customs and the RCMP so as soon the plane land the person was escorted off the plane. RCMP were waiting for his luggage, next thing we saw he was in handcuffs being led away.

Oh well now on to the good stuff.

Welcome Home - Music to our ears, not in the resort two minutes and the staff is coming out to greet you. The next morning since we arrived so late we had the staff coming up to us to say hello after hearing that we were back once again. Thanks to Paulette we received once again the room that we like, room 117 at the quad, not everyone likes that area but for us it is great, no real noise problem, just close the bathroom shutters and the bathroom door and we can sleep through anything once we finally decide to go to bed.

Weather - Unfortunately the weather was not very co-operative. It rained every day, not all day but enough to be a pain. But that is why they made the hot tubs. One hundred people all trying to get into the hot tub during the rain, what a site and what fun. Can’t say much else about the hot tubs because what happens at Hedo stays at Hedo, thank God.

The People - It has been said time and again it is the people that you meet both old friends and new friends who make the trip. It sure was true this time too. Seeing once again all of our old friends and then meeting new ones can’t be beat. Ralph, Rhonda, Kevin, Stacey, Beth, (got to meet Steve) Rene and Mark, Terry & JoEllen, Carolyn, Dave, Janet, Conrad, so many friends and then all the new ones. It was great to spend some time with Gary & Linda apparently both our trips overlapped for a bit last year, but not by much so we didn’t get to spend much time with them. Jerry (the photographer for the Kink group) such a funny guy. Really loved Haywood (his twin Chuck was kind of quiet though), Walt and Cheryl. Amazing it takes going to Hedo to finally meet Liz and Kerry (they don’t live far from us but we couldn’t arrange to get together prior to our trip) A special hello to Michelle.

The partying, laughing and just having a good time can’t be beat. Robyn (Miss Hedoween once again) has so much energy she should bottle it and sell it. Always a smile for everyone and willing to take part in any party if none were there she would just would start.

The Fun Stuff - Unfortunately we didn’t get to take part in very much of the Wild Bunch activities since for the most part private parties etc. started at 5 p.m. and in order to stay up all night we long ago figured out that nap time is from 4:30 to at least 6:30. Lou loves the volleyball games in the nude pool. I on the other hand love the body shots both giving and receiving. The EC’s kept the fun going and really tried to get everyone to participate.

Glen in the piano bar can’t be beat. One night we even had a Canadian delegation showing him Canadian Beaver, what a riot. The piano bar is a great place to meet new people and just let your hair down (or your g string off) okay I didn’t wear a G String lol. Glen announced on our last night at Hedo that he needed to take a pee break (knew he wouldn’t return) instead he stayed and continued to play worked out great because a special impromptu bachelorette and bachelor party was held for Ty & Sue. Congratulations on your wedding we are sorry we couldn’t stay for it. All the best to the both of you.

Carolyn & Dave even ensured that they brought umbrellas for the drinks, thanks guys you two are great. Just love the way you stir the drinks Carolyn.

The pussy fountain certainly was very active on this trip. Need I say more?

One of the funniest things that happened was on the Saturday night during the Gala dinner outside, a friend of our’s (name not mentioned) was proceeding over to buffet when she was stopped by a some people they told her that she looked very familiar. After a few minutes they “recognized her” and asked her if she was not one of the people from the television show “Real Sex” she replied that yes indeed she was but was here on vacation and needed her privacy so don’t spread it around. She then came back to the table with the biggest grin on her face. She then asked Lou if he would go over to their table with her as her “manager” to let these people know that she did need her privacy. They did and Lou pretended to be her manager. What a hoot, made her vacation.

Halloween was a blast so many really great costumes, the show put on by the resort was really great that night. The disappointment though for a lot of the guests was the lack of prizes (or quality) for best costume etc. Some people are so imaginative.

Food Etc., - Not 5 star but not bad either. There was not one night where you couldn’t find something that you like to eat. I love the salads and they certainly do a great job. In Pastafari I noticed that this time all of the roasted vegetables were just swimming in balsamic vinegar, I love balsamic vinegar but want to be able to taste what I am eating.

The resort has once again changed the bartenders around and Serena was not at the nude pool. They now have her at the prude pool. Was extremely disappointed and even wrote it on our comment card. Talent like hers belongs at the nude pool. Suzette is very nice but just does not work the crowd the way that Serena does.

Eviction - The worst part of being at Hedo is having to say goodbye to all of your old friends and new friends. You really know it is time to go home when you go to the nude pool and there are more people there that you don’t know versus who you do. You also realize you don’t even have the time anymore to go out and meet everyone since you have to go home.
