This was our virgin trip to Hedo III. We had followed
Denny's site for about three months prior to our trip, and picked up
valuable info, which I would like to thank everyone for. Here goes!
Upon arrival in Mo Bay, we went to the Super Clubs desk and
checked in. A representative took our bags, and answered my only
question..."where can we get some Red Stripe?" He smiled, and took
us to the little stand near the busses. $12.00 later, four bottles
and ice in hand (in a bag, of course) we got on the bus. MANY
thanks to whomever suggested bringing a bottle opener! Those were
beyond all doubt the BEST beers we have ever had. Perhaps it was the
bag of ice in my lap, but they were nice and cold, and went down oh so
smoothyly. We did stop at the Jerk Stand, which was excellent timing
for a potty break. The drive to the resort was about an hour and a
half, but we really didn't mind it. We really enjoy seeing more of
the countryside, and our driver pointed out local landmarks, such as Harry
Belafonte's childhood home, and the town where Columbus landed (near the
bauxite loading plant) We had made this trip once before, on a
previous trip to the falls, and this was a nice refresher. Sure it
ws a little bumpy and slow at times, but it is quite obvious the new road
will be an amazing improvement, and a trip to look foreward to.
At
the front desk, we were told that the room we had booked, 1st floor quad,
was full that night, and they were giving us an ocean front room for the
night, and then we would move back to the quad. Othello took us to
our room, and explained everything to us, but just laughed when I asked
where we were supposed to carry the room key if we were nude! Our
room overlooked the famous "pussy fountain" in the nude pool and the ocean
beyond. We moved that little sofa that is in front of the window, so
we could see the ocean while lying in bed. Great view! (yes,
closing the bathroom door makes the room much quieter!) We then went to
grab some dinner.
The
first night we went to the main dining room. I loved the openness of
it, and the view of the main pool. The buffet was physically smaller
than some we have seen, but had a nice selection of local dishes and "american"
dishes for those not so adventurous. The staff was extremely
attentive and friendly. We headed back to scope out the nude pool
bar, and were nekkid shortly thereafter. Like a lot of you, I
thought we would bypass the nude stuff for a few days, but there we were,
2 hours after check in! Clayton was the bartender that night.
Personal note...never ask the bartender to surprise you! (more on that
later) We met several couples right away, and as all of you know, it
really is not awkward to strike up a conversation with fellow nudies!
One couple were on their honeymoon...and they were the first "body shot"
partakers we saw. One not so good thing about the pool bar...those
damn stools! If you manage to not slice off something valuable from
your undercarriage, you are sure to have little bruises on the back of
your thieghs. But everyone else does too. Just don't slide off
of them! So a few hours and many drinks later, we went to bed only
to wake up with the worst hangover I personally have ever had. Most
of the next day was spent in bed. But it was cloudy anyway. I
called the front desk to see if we could keep the room we were in, and
they agreed. Nice upgrade! (Judy Ann, I think was her name.
Very helpful and friendly!) Throughout the week, everytime we walked
past the quad, it was in the shade, and very quiet. The bar seemed
to close early too. We were glad we got moved!
We
found that if we staked out our lounge chairs by 7:30am, we were fine.
We never had a problem getting fresh towels, and did use someone's advice
to grab them from the gym once.
Munahana - Had no trouble getting a reservation. It was ok, but we
wouldn't go there on a return trip. The food was good, and well
prepared (had the sushi, didn't get sick), but lacked the flair we
associate with hibachi styly restaurants. The "chef" was wearing a
hairnet, which made me feel like I was in the high-school lunch line.
But it was nice overall.
Pastafari - We again had no trouble getting reservations. We really
enjoyed this! The menu offerings were quite different, and
presentation was very creative. We would visit his again.
Snorkeling - the water was rough the bulk of the week, and several trips
were cancelled. We made it out once, and had a nice time. We
did see two sea snakes, which I am not fond of, and a lot of those tiny
jellyfish. The trip back was choppy, and I was happy to dock.
We didn't try any other watersports.
Nude
area - we took a swim at the nude beach...nice and private (got whispered
at by the "guy on the other side of the wall") but it was really hard to
walk! The bottom is rocky in spots, and if you go all the way out,
the current is crazy! I think that needs some more work.
We spent the entire 9 days at the nude pool. The
atmosphere there is SO much better than the prude side. People were
much easier to talk to.Several people who had taken trips off the property
reported "prudes" speaking ill of the nudies...how trashy they are to run
around naked. So be it! Apparently they missed the "kindly
remove the 2x4 from your hind-end" sign at the entrance to the resort!
It is great fun to say hello to the tours that timidly walk past.
The looks on their faces when you stand up and wave (or shimmy) are
priceless! I did feel a bit creepy when locals would walk through,
they were never nude, and I felt they were only there for the show.
But I got over it. We noticed that the staff rotates every day, so
you don't see the same ones in the same spot everyday. We have never
encountered a staff so incredibly energetic and friendly. They went
out of there way to involve people and make them feel comfortable.
They work 16 hour days, 6 days a week, with people smacking their asses
and hanging on them all day. (where do I apply?) But they
really made the trip for us. Spike, Slick and Clayton were standouts
for us, but then so were Antoinette and Suzette at the nude bar in the
mornings. Your glass will never be empty with those two!
My
apologies if I have rambled on...I only hope I haven't forgotten anything!
We had an unbelievable time, and have no tan lines to show for it!
We will absolutely go back, and advise anyone who asks to do the same.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to e-mail
me. I had a whole mess of questions myself, and through the
kindness of naked strangers, felt like I knew the place before I got
there! roverqueen@hotmail.com
