Trip Report October 2002

Flight Down Jamaican Air

As they say in Jamaica….”no problem”. Left from Philly at 7:30 am with a direct flight to Montego Bay, arrived about 9:45 am.

Bus Ride to Hedo III…..the hour and thirty minute ride was as expected. The bus driver kept giving us enough information to keep it interesting and the time flew by. Our bus made a stop at the Starfish. The remainder of the trip was just one other guy, Tina and me. Arrived at Hedo III around 11:45 am.

Room…..As expected our room was not ready when we checked in. Our original room was 429 in the Quad. We were asked to had lunch and check back. About 1:00 pm we checked back with the front desk and were told that our room was still not ready but that maybe they could find another room. I offered that a room on the nude side would be fine . We were given room 733, on the nude side with an ocean view. The room had two twin beds, which after a few phone calls to the front desk were moved together and made up as a king. We would recommend the 700 building as it has a good view of the ocean, is close to the nude pool, but is private enough to filter the noise from the late night activities in the nude area. Now that was not a problem with us because we were sometimes the ones making the involved in the late night activities in the nude pool. We did have ants in the room but were afraid to inform the front desk because of the smell that might be left from getting rid of them, and they did not really eat all that much.

Food ….We tried the Pastifari Sunday night and really did not have a good experience. Service sucked and the food did not taste all that good. In all fairness we should have given it another try. The Japanese restaurant was wonderful. We both enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone. The main dining area was buffet style and was good enough to scare away hunger. Breakfast was the high light of the main dining area with made to order omelets and French toast. Scotch Bonnet and the nude bar were also good for a quick meal of cheese burgers, French fies, or a grilled cheese sandwich.

Friends…Meet many wonderful people…Tom & Gloria (Gloria was the unofficial greeter and we thank her for helping us feel welcome), Bill & Monica (not that Bill & Monica), Steve and Dottie, Greg & Melissa, and Dave & Linda, Bill and Michelle. I am sure some of these new friends will become old friends.

PDAs…yep, we saw it, we did it, we enjoyed it. Just a word of advice to the management. There is a prude side and a nude side. If people are uncomfortable with PDAs kindly ask them to enjoy their stay on the prude side.

In Closing…we had a great time and will be back again next year.
