Well we’ve put off this report long enough.
We were at Hedo III June 28th thru July 6th. This was our second trip and we had planned on it being our last for a while since we planned on traveling to other areas of the world, but I now find my self saving money for a trip else ware and Hedo.
I was planning on a day-by-day account of what happened it true that all the days run together so I’ll just hit the highlights.
Travel there – I WILL NEVER FLY AIR JAMACIA AGAIN!!! Since there is no longer a direct flight from Tampa we left Tampa Thursday night and drove to Ft. Lauderdale. We stayed with some family and got bright and early to catch our 11am flight. We were dropped off at the airport at 9am to be sure we wouldn’t have any problems with check in. This is were it all started to go bad. After we check our bags the guy at the desk informs us that our flight has been canceled and the only thing he could do was put us a 4pm flight and give us a 15 dollar meal voucher for our trouble. Since we had already checked our bags we were not allowed to leave the airport. Come to find out later they canceled the flight be cause there were not enough people on it and they combined the 9am and the 4pm. Well this caused the 4pm flight to be overbooked which caused a delay. We should have been at Hedo around 2pm and here we are still sitting in the airport at 5pm. To make matters worse our new flight is not direct we have a stop off in Kingston. We ended up not getting to the resort till almost 10pm that night.
Food – The food in the main dining room was not as good as it was last year although still not so bad you couldn’t find something. They did add an omelet station to the midnight buffet with was great. Munahana was great Casper is the best chef very good and very entertaining ask for him if you can. Last year we were not impressed with Pastafari, but some friend talked us in to trying it again and it was great. I was really pleased. The food at the Scotch Bonnet is great nothing beats the jerk chicken sandwich, but the service is still horrid. The nude grill still has the best fries and the burgers and grilled cheese are good the fact that you don’t have to get dressed to go get them makes them even better.
Room - We had room 636 this year with was much better that our room in the quad last year. It had a great view of the nude pool and nude beach. It was great to look out and see who was there before deciding whether to head down there or check out what else was going or first. The AC worked fine. I am a light sleeper and found it to be a bit noisy but closing the bathroom door fixed that right up. We had an ant problem the second night there they infested our dirty clothes pile on the corner. We took all our stuff our side and shook it out and informed the front desk. By the time we got back from dinner they had already been out and sprayed never saw them again. Although after two days of being woken up at 8:30 and 9:00 we found a secret to sleeping in and getting your room cleaned. Put out the do not disturb sing and find a way to make it stay on. Once you start your day flip in to the “Clean room now” side if not they may not come back
Pools – The nude pool was a lot cleaner this year. Last year you couldn’t even see the bottom and the hot was always a milky white. This year we saw someone come out and clean the pool at lease twice a day and they drained and cleaned the hot tub every morning. The Prude pool is still gorgeous and empty. I think the most people we saw in it was four and that includes Betty while we were doing a photo shoot. The Quad this pool is great but unfortunately it doesn’t get used enough. A few of us invaded it from the nude side just to get away from all the craziness a few times and there were maybe a dozen and half people there mostly guys who never blinked after they realized there were naked women in the pool.
EC’s – This was a disappointment for me this year. There are still some great ones but some really good ones left. Romeo is awesome always willing to take time and talk to you. He and Lacy do a circus show now and they are really good. Teddy bear is another one who is glad to sit and talk to you for a while (especially if you have pretty lady with you). Some of the new EC’s like Bootylisious would not take to the guest at all. Most of the time they were playing pool on the prude side this up set me because when I did want to play one day they were using two of the three tables and would not even acknowledge the fact that someone was waiting for them.
Grounds – They plant life is coming in nicely. The building all look good except for normal weathering, and they are always working on them. The new gift shop is great so much nicer than the room it was crammed in to. The slot machines, can someone explain this to me? I never saw any use them the whole time I was there. Waite that’s not true one guy put his drink on one while he was playing ping-pong.
Off site trips – We took the ATV ride. This was great from start to finish. We had a great driver Junior pick us up at the resort we had to stop at another resort first but that was not a problem since junior was both a great driver and was telling us stories about his family and life in jamacia the whole time. Once we got to the start of the tour we had a quick class on how the ATV’s worked and we were off. Our tour guide led us up the mountain were we stopped for drinks at an old plantaion house that over looked the coast line. It was buitiful. After that we headed back down the mountain jumped in the van and headed to Dunn’s river falls. Our tour giud from the ATV ride came with us and walked along the falls and took pictures for us so we didn’t have to get our camera wet or have to go with one of the big groups. I will probably do to this side trip every time I go down there it was that much fun.
Sex – Yes, thank you. I know this is what you all have been waiting to hear. There was a lot of it. I kind of expected this at the beginning of our trip due to the fact that we were there for the tail end of the Hellions Quad take over, but they kept most of the playing in the quad. As the week went on and we watched the crowd change it got pretty busy in the nude pool during the day and hot never had still water at night. Now I’m for having fun and being sexual if I have to get out of the pool to get a drink because there are people having sex on the bar that is too much. Some of us actually left and went to the Quad one day after one girl helped three guys release their swim teams in the pool.
People – This what makes Hedo so great. We made some of the best friends this year that I’m sure we will keep in touch with for a long time. I will not name any names to protect the innocent or not so innocent, but you know who you are. By the way blow up doll disappeared I wonder what happened to it. J There was one guy who got incredibly drunk and then decided he was going to walk across the bar. He made about two steps and fell in the bar. The next day he looked like someone beet him with a 2x4. The next night we had some one try to over the ropes to get to the beach from the nude pool. I guess nobody told him there was no beach there just rocks.
Travel home – Not as bad as going but the flight was delayed for about an hour and half. Like I said before I will not Fly air Jamaica again.
