Kevin & Sam - May, 2002

5/8-5/12

We just returned from our 5th trip to Jamaica and our 3rd trip to HedoIII - we love it and are already planning our return in early December!  Our other visits were to HedoII and Grand Lido Negril, which each has something to offer, but our favorite has been HedoIII.  This was a short trip for us, but still long enough to relax, make friends and party!

We arrived early Wednesday afternoon, and I headed straight for the nude pool while Kevin checked us in.  No room yet, so he soon joined me.  The occupancy was said to be around 25% that week, but we didn’t notice any lack of people or lack of enthusiasm by those that were there!  We were off before too long on our first nude water slide run of our visit – remember to keep your arms folded across your front – we had 2 scraped elbows in the group!  Our room turned out to be 715, close enough to be very accessible, but not too close to be bothered by the nude pool/hot tub noise.  Perfect!

Wednesday was Naughty Beach Games.  Definitely participate for the bottles of rum (and the laughs)!  They held the bonfire on the beach afterwards, which we hadn’t seen on our previous trips, so that was something special.  Bare-As-U-Dare was well participated by the nude side – we were definitely overdressed – me in my garters and Kevin in his boxers!  But the music was good and we danced, danced, danced!

Anyone for oil wrestling!??  OK, I was paired up with a petite blond against a well-muscled contender.  It was no contest – we went down for both counts in record time, I’m sure!

Toga!  Toga!  Toga!  This always a favorite of ours.  And the evening’s entertainment included a talent show.  Time to show off your talents and surprise all your new friends!  We had some great singers including the (surprise!) very shy nude cook who sang the theme song from Titanic.  Awesome!

We had daily games of volleyball (W-I-L-S-O-N!!!), super-charger water gun wars (although if you get stuck with one of the small hand-size guns, you’re at an advantage when you have Serena fill it with rum!)  and body shots.  Never let it be said you can’t get busted at Hedo!  We were participating (enjoying?) body shots around 4pm one afternoon when the security guard came by and told us to cease and desist!  Not sure what prompted it, but we complied (we were almost done anyway), and then didn’t see any guards making their presence known during the day for the rest of our short stay.

The wet t-shirt contest was a shortened version this year.  Just the parade around the judges and a quick Q&A by Teddy Bear and the final vote.  No games or other competition to the crowd’s disappointment.  They told me I came in 4th, but I think they might tell that to all the girls!  Anyway, it was fun if you can get over your inhibitions!

We took advantage of the free scuba lessons (they taught us in the main pool.)  We would both highly recommend.  The instructors are very professional and it is a very safe environment to learn.  It takes an hour at 9 am to learn and then they’ll take you on a 30-foot dive at 11 am.  I didn’t make the real dive, but Kevin saw a stingray and was very pleased with the experience.  We also went on a snorkel trip some folks on the nude side organized for 12 of us.  The water was a little choppy so visibility wasn’t perfect, but we still enjoyed snorkeling around the reef and watching all the amazingly colored fish.

Got voted Ms. Nude Beach and then spent the rest of the day being called “Queenie” and “Your Highness.”  But I think my Loyal Subjects got tired of all my demands because “Your Highness” turned into “Your Anus.”  People seemed a lot more friendly after the competition… must have something to do with my fascinating demonstration with the banana… or maybe people are just nicer when they know what your favorite sexual positions are!

We spent another night in the disco and witnessed the rump-shakin’ contest.  Lots of fun, lots of folks (lots of new arrivals over the weekend), and lots of good music made for lots of dancing!  We stayed as late as we could before heading out to the pier to watch the stars J.

Sunday L:  Time to go home… we turned in our Hedo bucks for a bottle of rum and headed out on the early bus.  I have to say here that the bus rides coming and going went smoothly.  We stopped once each way, and made it both ways in about 1hr 15min.

The food was pretty much the usual.  We LOVE all the seafood – tons of shrimp, crayfish, snapper, marlin, etc.  Plus all the jerked chicken and pork you can handle.  And Munahana is definitely my favorite – wish we could have gotten there more often.  They only had a couple of tables each night, though, and they booked up 3 days in advance.  Regardless, we never went hungry.

The weather held out beautifully while we were there, although it rained pretty hard during the night once or twice forcing some people to repaint their rocks.

As is always said, the people you meet are fabulous and friendly.  It’s great to make friends and then act totally silly in front of them during some crazy competitions.  Everyone cheers for everyone else – it’s a very welcoming group.  There were even 3 couples honeymooning when we were there!  And the entertainment coordinators are incredibly beautiful, energetic, fun people – Romeo (he’s SO pretty!), Sean (totally crazy!), Teddy Bear, Sly, and Keisha – they’re all great!  And the nude side bartenders keep the party going – Serena, Ann-Marie and Suzette.  We are looking forward to seeing all of them again on our return!
