Jamie & Brenda - January, 2002

We are Jamie & Brenda (27&28) from Minneapolis. This was our second

trip to Hedo 3 (Jan 31st thru Feb 7th 2002). Our first trip was Jan.

19th thru the 26th 2001. This trip report will outline the changes and

similarities between our two trips...

Airport & Bus Ride: Like last year, we were offered weed at the

airport. The offers were much more foreward than before, probably due

to the near legalization of pot in Jamaica. However, we have read that

it is a bad idea to buy pot at the airport, because of undercover

police, so we hoped to find it hidden in our room like last year.

Superclubs has to get their act together when organizing the bus

rides. This year, and last year there was confusion as to which bus to

get on to the point that it warrented concern whether we, and/or our

bags were going to show up at the right resort. The bus ride was the

same crazy driving that we experienced last year.

Remember to tip the porters at the airport. The airport porters

are not Superclubs employees. Out of about 20 people on our bus, we and

one other couple tipped the porter. An appropriate tip is a buck a bag

(more if you have very heavy bags). Its fine if you don't want to tip,

but carry your own bags. Not tipping dilutes my tip.

Check-in: There were no problems checking in. The ease of check-in was

probably due to the low occupancy of the resort. Last year, the resort

was full and we waited a while. But even if you have to wait, relax,

have a drink at the main bar, and start your vacation.

Room: The room was nice like last year. We had a better view this

year(ocean instead of quad).

Food: The food in the main dining area was ok. It wasn't much

different than last year. Some of the dishes on the buffet were

excellent, others were not very good. The restaurants were excellent.

One night we dined at Pastafari. The appetizer bar was great! We both

ordered the lobster and shrimp with rice and white wine sauce--we

recommend it. The Scotch Bonnet and the Nude Pool Grill were good for

bar food; no change.

Service: This was the area that has changed the most since last year.

Some things are better. Some things are worse. Other things may never

change...

The Nude Side had towels available almost all of the time, which

was a huge improvement. The hot tub temperature was far more stable.

The bar tenders were great, as usual, but we did run into a second

string bartender for a few hours at night who couldn't make some of the

drinks we ordered. The biggest change on the nude side was the wait

staff. Last year, it was possible to sit on the beach from 10am until

sunset, and not get up for a drink or food unless you wanted to. This

year, we spent most of our time on the nude pool deck during the sunny

hours, and were served only one drink the entire week. Again, this is

probably due to staffing cut-backs

The service in the main dining area and the restaurants also

reflected a staffing cut-back, but still very good service. Last year

Hedo 3 provided service that was the best we had ever seen, and

super-human at times. Your wine and water were never less than half

full. This year there were times when we had to flag down a waiter.

Overall, the service was very good.

Resort Activities: Last year, many of the scheduled activities didn't

happen for some reason or another. This year was a huge improvement.

Not only did they happen, but they seemed to be more exciting.

Brenda participated in the wet t-shirt contest, which was a little

more than just a wet t-shirt contest. I ended up eating cookies and

milk from her naked body. Some other contestants had a man and a woman

of their choice lick chocolate sauce from their naked bodies. If anyone

competes in these activies, remember that the entertainment staff

rewards a good party attitude. We arrived travel weary on Thursday,

the night of the toga party--still a good time.

As we expected, the Miss Nude Centerfold people arrive during our

stay. They were alright until PJ party night (Tuesday). That night

they were shooting a video on the grounds and in the disco. It became

intrusive at times. For a short while they were in the disco shooting

the video while everyone else was pushed to the sidelines. I understand

that these groups/events are very profitable to Superclubs, but maybe

they should discount these days for people not involved in the event, or

at least offer a voucher for a discount on the next trip.

If you want to see the coral reef withour snorkling there is a

glass bottom boat and the driver also acts as a tour guide, pointing out

such things as Fire Coral "If you touch it you will feel a burning on

your skin. The fishes use it to light their splifs."

The entertainment staff was great. They made any activity a good

time.

Off-Resort Activities: We stayed on the resort for our entire previous

trip, but after being intruduced to Blue Mountain coffee, this trip we

planned to go on the Blue Mountain bike tour. It is a long 3 hour bus

ride(including stops), but the driver also makes the ride an informative

tour of the island. We were driven part way up the mountain to a quaint

little open-air shack, and served brunch with Blue Mountain coffee.

After brunch we were driven up to about 5,000 feet, where we were given

bikes. We coasted down the mountain, stopping to view the coffee

plantations evey so often. When we reached the shack on our bikes we

were served lunch, and were offered Blue Mountain coffee at $10 per

pound(half the price), Cuban coffee at $17 per pound, and Cuban cigars

for $12 each. During lunch they give a presentation on how the coffee

is processed. After lunch, we rode the rest of the way to a waterfall

where we could go swimming. At $85 per person plus tip for the tour

guides, we highly recommend this all day tour.

The Crowd: I think one of the biggest factors in enjoying Hedo 3 is the

crowd that is there with you. The crowd was better than last year.

Last year's crowd was older and more aloof, and not wild at all. This

year the crowd was a good mix. There were some people who liked to

party hard, and people who just liked to watch, and some people who

would have been happier at Breezes. During our last trip we didn't see

one body shot. This time there were body shots everywhere! We met many

more people this year.

After the PJ party we went to the nude hot tub, where there was a

full tub of people engaged in a game of truth or dare. It wasn't nude

your traditional game of truth or dare. There was one guy, Franky, who

was the "MC". Franky stood in the middle of the hot tub pointing at

couples around the hot tub "truth or dare," as he offered a hit of pot

from his pipe. Everyone chose dare. Some of the dares were to swap

partners and give oral sex to a couple you may have never met, or

girl/girl oral. After the game we counted 5 blow jobs at once on the

ledge of the hot tub, and a few couples leaving for a little more

privacy. The hot tub wasn't like that every night, but it was far more

active than last year.

Overall: Hedo 3 really needs to try to match the level of service they

provided last year. The improvements are very appreciated, especially

the hot tub temp. and the towels on the Nude side. The crowd makes a

huge difference in how much you enjoy Hedo 3, so choose your week

carefully, or you could have a week similar to that of Breezes. We will

be back to Hedo 3 agian sometime.
