Clyde & Bonnie - February, 2002

February 2002 Hedo III Trip Report

By Bonnie and Clyde

WOW!  What a great trip!  My wife (Bonnie) and I (Clyde) just returned from a wonderful vacation at Hedo III in mid-February.

In this report we will try to economize our views of the facilities, the restaurants, the staff, etc. (all very important ingredients to a great vacation, but very nicely covered in other reports).  We have changed the names of people we met to protect the… innocent?

OUR EXPECTATIONS

Just a bit about our vantage point.  As this was our second trip to Hedo III, we knew a little bit about what to expect.  Our first trip was two years ago, soon after the resort opened.  Mucho fun.  We have also been to Grand Lido Negril several times and Grand Lido Braco once.  Also great if you want a relaxing vacation.  If you have never been to a nude all-inclusive resort you cannot imagine how much fun it is.  It is very much like summer camp for adults.  We are not die-hard nudists (in fact we have never been to a nude facility other than SuperClubs), but we love being in this type of environment.  It is not the nudity per se - even though that certainly creates a sensual environment - it’s the people.  Guess it is not too surprising that people who are computer programmers, engineers, homebuilders and homemakers during the day, but who would also run around naked if put in an environment where “no one will know”, are kind of fun to be around.  We too have normal lives in the real world, married 14 years, very much in love, two kids, dog, parakeet, mortgage.   Back to our expectations…

On the plane on our way to Jamaica we played the game where you make three statements and the other person has to guess which two are true and which one is false.  Given our high state of anticipation the game quickly gravitated to things of a sexual nature.  It also gave us each an opportunity to hint at our fantasies and possible expectations for the trip.

Upon arriving in our room at Hedo III we quickly unpacked and prepared to begin our adventure.  Just as we were about to head out the door, Bonnie asked “So are we going to have rules while we are here?”   Hmmmm, very good point.  Intellectually, I knew we should, but I wasn’t entirely sure just what those rules should be.  We had been somewhat adventuresome on our first trip to Hedo III, when the circumstances were just right, and very much enjoyed it – actually, it was incredible.  Anyway, back to the trip at hand.  I mumbled something, I think.  Somehow it was enough to facilitate a conversation.  We agreed that if either one of us had an opportunity to “do something adventuresome” we would not need to check in with the other first.

OUR EXPERIENCES

Thursday.     Our first afternoon.  Hung out at the nude pool, hot tub and beach.  Quickly met a group that had been there for several days.  Spent the afternoon and most of the evening with them.  On our previous trips, we have sometimes met a group that we ran around with most of the time and sometimes just met new people everyday.  Both are nice.  On this trip we hung out with different people every day or two.  After dinner we headed to the piano bar where we talked to a very fun couple, Dave and Gwyneth.  We could tell right away Gwyneth was going to be a pistol – a VERY provocative outfit, great body, captivating Portuguese accent and a very mischievous smile.  Then off to the disco for drinks and dancing, where we quickly wimped out due to only two hours sleep the night before (packing for our trip).   So off to bed for us.

Friday.     Woke up at 10:00 am.  That’s 10:00 am!!!!

Forecast for the day:  no alarm clock, no kids, no work, no clothes, no problem.

Spent the entire day at the nude pool, hot tub, beach.  Played lots of naked volleyball.  Met lots of people.  Biggest dilemma of the day was thinking that we should snorkel at some point on this trip.  During the afternoon a group from a Bare Necessities cruise ship visited the resort on a day pass.  Heard just a little bit of grumbling from a few of the Hedo guests about overcrowding on the nude side.  Upon reflection, seems like an odd point…”you know I wish there just weren’t quite so many naked people running around here.”

After the Bare cruisers left, the nude pool was empty and about a dozen people (5 or 6 couples, a couple of single guys and one wife, Donna, on a solo vacation to “check out the resort”) were rotating in and out of conversations in and around the hot tub.  As the sun sank the sexual nature of the conversations rose.  We have noticed before that the nude hot tub can get a bit lively around sundown (as the crowds dwindle) and around 2:00 am (as people begin to migrate from the disco).   At one point, Bonnie was at the bar getting drinks, three women (Gwyneth as ringleader) began to get very playful – teasing, taunting, etc.  Gwyneth mentioned to me that she thought Bonnie was particularly stunning.  I agreed.  Gwyneth grinned.  I decided that I had to either not think about it or move from sitting on the edge of the hot tub into the water.  I moved into the water.  By the time Bonnie rejoined us in the hot tub with drinks, the tension was extremely high.  Bonnie caught the drift immediately.  After a bit more teasing and taunting, Gwyneth and Bonnie became extremely friendly.  This resulted in the first of many firsts on this trip.  After they had been extremely friendly, I thought I heard Gwyneth say to Bonnie something about “your poor husband looks lonely.”  I tried my best to look lonely and pretend I had not overheard anything as I shot like a rocket from the water back up to the edge of the hot tub.  I then received a first of my own - from Bonnie and Gwyneth together.  Wow what a vacation.

After recovering from our second first, we hung out and met a few more of the people in the hot tub.  Allen and Mary (from the Southwest) and Joel and Vicky (from Canada).  Everyone comes with different expectations and desires.  We learned that Allen and Mary had been to Hedo II previously and had not particularly cared for it.  So they came to Hedo III with a bit of uncertainty.  They said they were having a great time.  Joel and Vicky had never been to a Hedo resort, or for that matter Jamaica, but they had become acclimated very quickly.  Both very nice, fun couples.

Dinner at the Italian restaurant Friday night.  Ran into Allen and Mary.  Spent the evening with them.  Went back to their room for drinks.  Told our own versions of stupid human things we’ve done.  Laughed and laughed and enjoyed getting to know each other.  Made it back to our room around 2:00 am.

Saturday.    Up at 10:00 am, off to breakfast.  After breakfast, Bonnie went to do the trapeze while I made a stop at the room and the gift shop to pick up suntan lotion.  I made it over to the trapeze in time to see Bonnie flying through the air.  After she finished we chatted with Terrence, a single 21 year-old African American guy she met while doing the trapeze.  Terrence was very friendly.  Bonnie enjoyed teasing him about not looking at her panties while she was on the trapeze.  We then headed back to the room where I then departed for Ocho Rios to shop duty free for a new watch while Bonnie headed to the pool.

I spent most of the afternoon in Ocho Rios.  No luck with the watch.  Returned to Hedo III around 4:00 pm.  Stopped by our room to get out of my clothes.  Opened the door and found my wife in bed… with another……… woman……… AND… her husband.  Well that was certainly another first.  Bonnie had a huge smile on her face.  I acclimated very quickly while Bonnie handled the introductions.  It is exactly as you might be imagining.  The three of them are all trying to halfway sit up as they become disentangled, while my wife is saying, “Oh hi honey, um… this is Deidre and Jim.  I met them in the hot tub today.  They are just visiting Hedo III on a day pass, and I was just showing them around the resort… and then we just wound up back here at the room… and then we just……… kind of wound up here……… in this bed.”  It was impossible to get through this without laughing.  Somehow, shaking hands seemed kind of pointless, but we all did it anyway.  Spent the next hour getting much better acquainted.  Permanently fixed in my memory is the grin on Bonnie’s face after I opened the door.  Also, Deidre’s funky blue painted fingernails and toenails.  When it was time to go we walked Deidre and Jim back to the bar by the lobby, had a farewell drink and agreed to keep in touch.

Returned to the nude side where we played water volleyball, caught some sun and tried new drinks.  Water volleyball is a great icebreaker and great, great fun.  You can count on a game just about every day mid to late afternoon.  Enjoyed meeting more new people.

Had dinner Saturday night at the Japanese restaurant.  Hibachi style seating.  A good place to meet new people whose paths you might not otherwise cross.  After dinner we played ping-pong next to the exercise room.  This is a nice place to hang out, pool tables, ping-pong, etc.  Kind of removed from the main bar and dining area so it’s a little more quiet – can carry on a conversation.  The ping-pong tables are located in a kind of central corridor where lots of people walk by, so it’s also a good place to socialize.  Ran into quite a few people we had met in our first day and a half.  Terrence (the single guy we met while Bonnie was doing the trapeze) stopped and played ping-pong with us.  As we talked and I played Bonnie, I could tell that Bonnie was getting (a) progressively flustered and (b) sufficiently distracted so that I was winning.  After I won, Terrence offered to play Bonnie.  I looked at her and she actually stammered her response.  YYYes she would love to play a game with Terrence.  I couldn’t help being somewhat amused.  This is my wife who has always got her act together, who is always very sure of herself and who this very morning was teasing this same guy about looking at her panties and now she is stammering and blushing.  It was a pretty warm evening.  Midway through the game Terrence took off his shirt and Bonnie quickly lost.  After the game Bonnie told Terrence that we were going to get dessert and that maybe we would run into him later.  As we were walking over to get dessert Bonnie asked, “Did you see how I was acting?  I couldn’t believe it.  I just froze.  I didn’t know what to do.”  Over dessert, I told her that I was somewhat amused and amazed that she was so flustered.  “Well,” I asked her, “what do you want to do?”  Bonnie said she wasn’t sure, but that if she saw Terrence again that night…  We finished desert and headed to the bar to get a drink.  As we were walking around the pool area to get to the bar, we looked up and saw Terrence walking to the bar about 10 feet in front of us.  I looked a Bonnie.  She had another big grin.  I told her I would meet her on the pier by the nude beach in two hours.    Two hours later Bonnie met me on the pier.  She was smiling again.  Another first.  Bonnie and I had a fantastic time on the pier and then laid in a beach chair looking at the stars.  Another spectacular day.

Sunday.     Slept until 10:00 am again.  Getting to be a really nice habit.  Caught rays in the morning.  Lunch at the jerk pit.  Know it’s been mentioned many times in other trip reports, but have to repeat the jerk chicken here is fantastic.  Bonnie had been asked to be a model in a lunchtime fashion show so we had to then hurry over to the main dining area.  Every day the entertainment coordinators (EC’s) host a different lunchtime activity; sometimes it’s a show, sometimes games ala “Who’s line is it anyway?” but with audience “volunteers” and a Hedo twist.  With the right EC and audience participation, these can be lots of fun.  Today was the fashion show.  Bonnie and a combination of EC’s and male and female guests did a great job as they modeled outfits for each of the theme nights.

Spent the afternoon laying out and playing more water volleyball.  Dinner, piano bar, disco, where we danced and danced.  On our way to the hot tub Bonnie wimped out and headed to the room instead.  I stopped by the hot tub, had a drink (the bar at the nude hot tub is open all night) talked to a few people and then off to join Bonnie in la la land.

Monday.     Up bright and early at 10:30.  Not enough time for us to make it to breakfast so I threw on clothes and raced over to grab breakfast to go.  As I was carrying a tray back to the room, ran into Len and Susan, a VERY fun couple we met playing volleyball the day before.  Len, a quick wit, saw me first and pulled me aside to chastise me for making all of the other husbands look bad by serving my wife breakfast in bed.  As I passed Susan she said, “Oh what a sweetheart…”  I lied, telling her I had been bad and was making amends.  “He got to you already, didn’t he?” Susan said dryly as she motioned to Len.

Spent the rest of the morning at the pool.  Sat at the swim up bar, talked, drank and laughed.  Bonnie introduced me to Ethan, a fellow model from the fashion show and one of several single guys that hung out on the nude side while we were there.  Just a word about the single/couple ratio thing.  No doubt there are more couples than singles.  However, as you would expect, virtually everyone you meet at Hedo is fun loving and adventuresome.  Doesn’t exactly draw shy people.  So if you are fun, nice, interesting, generally appealing and enjoy being around like people the odds are very high you will have a great time at Hedo III – couple or single.  If you are pushy, come across as being “on the hunt”, etc. you are much less likely to enjoy your time.  Same rules apply elsewhere.  As mentioned in other trip reports, single women are goddesses.  Based upon our experiences, single guys who are fun to be around, etc. appear to have just as much fun as single women.

While hanging out around the swim up bar Bonnie and I got involved in different conversations.  I talked to Gwyneth and Dave while Bonnie talked to Ethan, who appeared to be flirting just a bit.  Bonnie winked at me.  I joined Bonnie and Ethan for a drink, and then made it over to our pool chairs to load up on suntan lotion.  Bonnie came over after a bit and we laid out for a while and then went for a dip in the pool.  I asked Bonnie if she had chickened out with Ethan, who had left shortly after they finished talking.  “Actually, I’m meeting him in the sauna at three o’clock,” she said.

Had lunch at the swim up bar and then went back for more rays.  I went up to get drinks at one point.  While waiting to be served, I met a couple, Doug and Jessica, who were about to head to the airport.  I had seen them around a bit, but had never talked.   They were in clothes and had stopped by the bar to have one last drink.  We talked for a few minutes.  It was their first trip to Hedo and they had had a great time.  Doug mentioned that he had fulfilled every fantasy he had imagined before coming.  I asked Jessica if she had as well.  She kind of shrugged her shoulders, smiled and said well just about everything.  Doug leaned over and whispered so that just the three of us could hear that Jessica had wanted to be with two guys at once, but it just had not worked out.  “So what time does your plane leave?” I asked.  “Four-thirty, but we can change it,” Jessica said quickly.  Wow, another first.

Met Len and Susan for dinner at the Italian restaurant.  Several others joined us for dessert and drinks.  Spent the evening in the disco.

Tuesday.     Our last full day!  Spent most of the day at the pool soaking up every bit of sun we could.  It was a very windy day, as a storm appeared to be heading our way.  Watched the rescue of two guys on a sunfish.  They were staying at the resort next door, got out in very rough seas and then were “forced” to land on the Hedo III nude beach.  Can just imagine how that story is told at home.  Enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub talking to new people we had not met.  Talked to couple from Nevada, Bob and Deb, that had just arrived and Rob, a single guy from Connecticut and Chris, a single guy who had just checked in.   As the sun set, I headed back to the room to take a nap.  Bonnie said she was going to stay a while and would meet me in the room.  After a short nap I went to the window the see if Bonnie was still at the hot tub (our room was in Building 6, next to the nude pool).  I didn’t see Bonnie.  I just saw a few people in the hot tub.  One guy on one side and a guy and a girl on the other side.  As my eyes adjusted I could see the guy and girl were “engaged”.  As I squinted I could tell the guy was Chris, who had just checked in.   The girl had her back to me.  Then she kind of turned her head and I recognized Bonnie immediately.  The last first of a fantastic vacation.

Wednesday morning.     Up at a brutal 8:30 am.  Quick shower and then off to catch our shuttle bus.  As we rushed into the lobby (late), we almost ran right over Deidre and Jim, the couple from that had visited on a day pass on Saturday.  They were checking in.  They had such a good time on Saturday that they extended their vacation to be able to spend five days at Hedo III.  Bonnie deserves all the credit.

Today.     Back in New England.  Still suffering from a bit of Jamaica withdrawal.  Looking forward to our next adventure.
