Bill & Maddy - March, 2002

March 25th though March 31st

It has been a couple of days since we returned from HEDO and we are still going through withdrawals.  We have already started planning our next trip and it is a lot sooner than what we originally anticipated.  This report is missing a lot of the more steamy details, that was done to protect the virtuous reputations of the participants and it is never right to kiss and tell.

Our flight from Charlotte to Sangster was uneventful and I was fully prepared to get off of the plane and have numerous Jamaicans offering to sell me dope.  This was the first of my many mistaken ideas about Jamaica and HEDO.   After customs and checking in at the Super Clubs counter I was noticing the people waiting for the bus.  I was sure I had identified everyone who was going to HEDO and those that were going to other resorts.  There were couples dressed all in black and wearing revealing clothing etc… I was sure that they were going to HEDO.  Once on the bus we found out that only one other couple was going to HEDO and the rest were going to Braco.  The other couple that was going to HEDO was our age and was not what I had expected.  This was my second misconception.

The bus ride was fun and uneventful we didn’t even stop for a red stripe.  However, we did see a pig chasing a goat (Ami, I knew you would like that).  After dropping off the Braco guests the bus driver gave us some great advice.  He told us that we were going to the “Zoo” and that we should be open to everything.  We packed too much because we only needed our birthday suits and most importantly he told us “what happens in Jamaica stays in Jamaica.”   Shortly after we arrived at the resort and the adventure began.

We had a room in Bldg 2 facing the Quad; we found the room to be great and really enjoyed the little time we stayed there.  We followed some advice from the message board and brought Lysol with us.  It seemed to help, neither of us got sick.  The first day/night was uneventful.  Being that this was our first trip we did a little exploring, ate at the Scotch Bonnet and eventually went back to the room early.  We were pretty tired from our trip.

The next day we decided to go directly to the Nude side.  This was a first for both of us.  After the initial shock of taking off our clothes in front of everyone we realized that no one cared and it felt completely natural.  Many thanks to Carl, Debbie, Barb and JC for easing our transition and making our stay fun.  Later that day we were playing pool volleyball and met so many people that I couldn’t name them all.  Needless to say, we hung out with many of these people the rest of the week.

Wednesday we took the trip to Dunn’s River Falls and Ocho Rios shopping excursion.  I highly recommend this trip.  Just make sure that you bring waterproof SPF, water shoes (aqua socks), waterproof cameras, swimsuits, towels and money.  The shopping was fun, and climbing the falls was something that I will not soon forget.  Wednesday is when we decided to extend our stay at the resort and booked for an additional two days.

The rest of the days were incredible.  Our days began at about 7:30 –8:00.  Maddy would get up and go out to take pictures.    I would sleep an extra half and hour and then meet her for breakfast.  After breakfast we went directly to the nude pool and took part in what ever was going on that day, body shots, wet t-shirt contests, nude pool Olympics, volleyball, snorkeling etc…  We usually tried to take a nap between 5:00pm and 7:30.  Then it was dinner and the entertainment for the evening.   We recommend the evening show, followed by the piano bar (oh shiit!) and the disco.  During the evening if we got tired we simply took off whatever we were wearing and did “nekid slide runs” until we had woke/sobered up.  We finished the evening/morning at the nude hot tub.

Attitude is everything at HEDO.  We met great and beautiful people who made this trip extraordinary, Allen, Ami, Ken, Cindy, Sam, Lela, Jerry, Tia, Megan, Rick, Ilene, and anyone else that we were hanging out with that we forgot to list.  I’ll never do a shot without thinking about all of you (ok, I won’t think about Allen, Ken, Sam, Rick or Jerry) and Gazebos and chairs will never have the same meaning.  We didn’t know any of you before this trip and now we feel like we have known you forever.  We really appreciate your sharing your vacations with us.

This was our first trip.  We didn’t know what to expect other than what we had read on the message boards.  My advice is don’t go with any preconceived notions about the people or the place.  Remember, that all of these trip reports, good and bad, are only one person’s opinion and shouldn’t influence you.  Go directly to the nude pool and stay there. It is only uncomfortable the first time you take off your clothes and after that it feels natural.  I don’t think we missed much and we had a great time.  Thank the staff for the job they do.  They really work hard so you can have a great time.  We never had a problem with anyone or anything while we were there.  We tried both of the restaurants, the two fast food type grills and the buffet.  We loved them.  We thought the food was fantastic.

Overall, this was the best trip of our life.  We plan to return soon and often.  This time I’m going to leave my expectations at home and just go with the flow. Yea Mon!!

P.S.  I’m really looking forward to the “Star Report”!
