Randy & Jean - 02/01

Jean & Randy - 2/16-23

Wow!  What a trip!!  It far exceeded our expectations.  We're ready to go back - we are already looking forward to next winter!  (Did I really say I'm looking forward to winter???!!!)   Here is our trip report - hope you enjoy it!

After a very short night and a fairly uneventful flight (we slept through most of it), we arrived in Jamaica ready for some warm weather and fun.  As soon as we were through customs and immigration our first thought was to find a Red Stripe (this was our 2nd trip to Jamaica so we knew we would need one or more for the ride - since this was our first time to a clothing-optional resort, I also needed a little courage).  We found the Red Stripes and the SuperClubs desk at the same time. After a short wait, we were off.  Our driver stopped along the way and we enjoyed a couple more Red Stripes and the warm weather.

Check-in was a breeze - our room was ready right away.  The room we booked was in the quad; we were interested in a room with ocean view or nude side view.  They did not have any available, but said we should try back the next day.  After the first day in our room, we decided it was fine and didn't bother checking back.  The resort is small enough that it was a short walk anywhere we wanted to go. We also found there are some interesting views from a room in the quad!  We had read that it could be quite noisy in the quad late at night, but we didn't have any problems with that - probably because we didn't get back to our room until the wee hours of the morning!  One time the sun was coming up!  (But we made it up to see Mark & Deb off at 10:30am!!)

After unloading our stuff, we headed straight for the nude pool area.  Time for the big test - could I do it??  No problem mon!!!  After the first 5 minutes, it felt completely normal.  Since everyone else was nude, we would have felt completely out of place with clothes on.  We headed for the bar - Suzette picked us out as newbies right away.  She asked our names then and didn't forget them the rest of the week!  What an impressive bartending staff at the nude pool!!  We checked out the area and met a couple of people who were in the midst of body painting.  Romeo did a great job with flames on this woman - had a great time with her, but unfortunately, can't remember her name.  Needless to say, 30 minutes after arriving at the nude pool, Romeo was painting flowers on me.  He does a great job!!!  (Beware - body painting can make messy sheets!)  But try it anyway!!

Later we headed to our room for a much needed nap.  After a quick shower, we went down for something to eat.  It was after 10:30pm and the buffet was closing up when we arrived.  The front desk said to try Pastafari's, which we did.  The meal was very good.  After a few more drinks, we headed for the hot tub (nude side).  When we got back to our room, we were surprised to find it was already 2:30am.

By the second day, we were totally comfortable with being nude and started getting involved in the activities.  If you go be sure to get involved!  This was one of the main reasons Randy wanted to go to a Hedo resort - he was looking for a very social atmosphere.  I am usually perfectly content to lay in the sun/shade and read a book and have a couple drinks.  One of the first activities we were involved with was Truth or Dare in the hot tub.  What a blast!  We think the entertainers for that activity were Romeo and Foxy.  Randy's "dare" (how could any one possibly call this a DARE???) was to kiss the left breast of each woman in the hot tub - Romeo added rum cream to make it a little more exciting.  My dare was to french kiss another woman - Deb -it didn't hurt did it??  (That's how we met Mark & Deb - we had a great time guys!)

Needless to say we participated in as many activities as we could. The oil wrestling was an interesting event that I got involved in - be warned, oil attracts sand and there is sand everywhere!  We had fun with all the activites we participated in.  The Hedo bucks are a sort of bonus to get you involved.  I do wish I was able to get a picture of Randy with my red bikini top (during the scavenger hunt) on though!!! (I have to admit, I look better in it...)

Highlights - the entertainers work very hard and very long hours - be sure to thank them and give them a hug now and then!  They are very good sports!  The nude pool bartenders are the BEST!!  Nola, Antoinette, Suzette and Ann Marie will certainly make your time in the pool area fun.  They remember EVERYONE!  We have no doubt that they will remember us when we go back next year.  We can't say enough about them.  We took along the recommended large, insulated mugs, but refused to use them so we had more opportunities to visit with them and the people along the way (sometimes it took Randy forever to get me a drink....).

The best part of Hedo III is the atmosphere and the people.  When you arrive, you hang all your pre-conceived notions, inhibitions, etc, up along with your clothes.  Remember, everyone there has at least one thing in common.  Of all the vacations we've been on, this is the one where we made the most new friends - everytime we turned around we found ourselves talking to new friends, who seemed like old friends.  As the week went on, it seemed like one big family.  If you're into swinging, that possibility does exist.  While we refrained this year, who know what will happen next year!  Be sure to keep an open mind - you'll find yourself experiencing things you never, ever thought you would (and you'll enjoy it too!).  If this place doesn't supercharge your sex life, have your pulse checked!  While we did see some 'action', we didn't see anything that we considered out of line.

We are soooo glad we posted our vacation dates on DennyP.com.  We met a bunch of people (Hedo III Trouble Tribe) on-line.  It was great to meet new friends even before arriving.  This is an excellent idea for first-timers in particular - especially if you're hesitant about doing the nude thing.  Even better - we are still chatting on-line and will continue to - we're planning a Trouble Tribe reunion for next February.  It has eased our terrible bout with DIF (Dreaded Island Fever)....be warned - when you leave Hedo III, you will experience withdrawal!

The resort and facilities are very nice.  The food was very good and there is always plenty of it.  In the evening the main bar does get busy and did run out of some of the top shelf stuff.  Overall the resort was clean and well-kept.  The staff was always friendly.  It was full to capacity when we were there, but did not seem overly crowded.  There is not a lot of room at the nude pool and beach, but that keeps things very friendly!

Our new Hedo friends....

Philip & Jane - thanks so much for starting the club - what a great idea.  We were actually familiar with your name from your message board postings on Denny's site.  Philip - you're a great leader by day, what happened at night??  Jane - you have the patience of a saint!  You're both great!

Craig & Catherine - see - being nude isn't so hard after all....Catherine - I was almost as apprehensive about it as you were!  (I know - you don't believe that, but it IS true!)  It doesn't take much to get Randy going though.....can you believe when we got married he was the conservative one??  Craig - I will expect to see you in something a little more risque next year on pajama night and I promise to make it to Bare as You Dare next time.  We'll also be counting on you to be the hot tub ring leader!

Mike & Betsi - Betsi - the t-shirts are great - thanks for all your work!  We will expect to see you out at the hot tub more often next year with Mike!  Your toga costumes were great too!  Mike - leave the homework home!  Wish we had seen the cookie monster in action - we were shopping that day!  We're looking forward to spending time in the pool with you again next year!

Mike & Annette - Best wishes again for happily ever after!  Annette you should really loosen up in the hot tub ;-) .  Thanks for starting the round the tub action on Thursday night - Randy really appreciated it...so did Craig....

Shawn & Ivona - Hope we get a chance to spend more time with you next year.  We didn't get much of a chance this year.  Good luck with your shooting efforts!!!  Great trip report!

Jack & Sheri - Jack - I'm sure when you grow up, you'll be just like Philip!  We hope to spend more time with you guys next year too!

Bill & Joanne - Randy says he's taking your place in the oil wrestling next year!!

Craig, Craig & Fred - you guys were fun right from the start - even at the airport at 4:30am...thanks for all the laughs..Freddy - I refuse to let you pour me beer from now on!

Mark & Deb - Minnesota will never be the same!  And yes the stars are the same there...  Mark - we'll have to pace ourselves next tiime...I was a little under the weather myself on Wed night, I guess that's what happens when you skip lunch and dinner and try to drink with the boys (Craig, Craig & Freddy).  We're planning on you guys being part of the talent show next year - Randy said he's sure he can find a pole!

Frank & Laura - we promise never to go to Couples!  Frank - thanks for helping us in volleyball - our own secret weapon.  The lemondrops were pretty good too!

Dianne - thanks for recruiting Randy for the talent show - he says he never would have the courage to do that on his own the first year!  Who knows what this might lead to!

Amy & Dan, Chris & Sandy, and all the other couples we met whose names we have either forgotten or didn't know, we hope to see you at Hedo III again next year!!  If we don't remember your names, we will remember your faces.
