Philip & Jane - 02/01

Jane & Philip  February 16-23, 2001

This was our second and much awaited trip to Hedo III. We first went last October and had such an incredible time then and just recently that we have plans to visit at least twice a year. We were wondering how our expectations would be met having had such a wonderful time in October, would we be disappointed? To put it in a nutshell “No way” The weather is a little different , the water is a little cooler, but the atmosphere and the people are still there!

We took the lead from a couple from Buffalo (Pete & Dawn) and started a Yahoo Club for people going to Hedo III in February. What a success that was. It made not only the trip but also the preparations and eventual DIF so much easier and comfortable. We now have several new friends, many of whom shared the Hedo III experience with us and became part of what we call the “Trouble Tribe”. Betsi, one of our first members was graciously generous and made us all t-shirts with our club name on them and we wore them around property on various occasions. Officially we were known as the Hedo III Trouble Tribe and we lived up to our name at every opportunity. Denny’s site helped us to invite others who were going in February by getting the e-mail addresses off his visitor list and of course also provided invaluable information for our trip, itself.

Although our flight originating out of Austin, Texas was cancelled because the pilot became ill just prior to take-off, we managed to arrive at Hedo only 6 hours late at 8.30 pm, after experiencing the already harrowing bus ride at night, which puts a whole new slant on things, believe me.

Check in was smooth, but the room we were given in Bldg 8 was not as nice as the one we had requested in Bldg 6. However after a couple of days we realized that there are no bad rooms at Hedo III and that if you have to walk a little longer to get to the nude beach, it is probably good for you. We even walked all the bldgs and noticed how some of the rooms facing the gardens and hills to the south had an incredible view and we would have been happy with those, although oceanfront is nice at night and in the early morning -watching and hearing the ocean.

First night we located Internet friends, Julie & Rich that had been there a few days and arranged for dinner with them at Pastafaris. Great opportunity to get acquainted with them and to meet their friends. We all had a wonderful meal and a great time, but trying to cram a whole days partying into a few hours catches up with you really fast and after a blurry evening we somehow ended up in the room and crashed until morning. We managed to get in “The Slide” and the hot tub for a short while, however.

Saturday morning, we discovered that Philip had lost all of his clothes and room key and safe key the previous night, but thanks to the honesty of everyone, they turned up in the lobby and we could relax!!!

We spent a lot of time at the front desk trying to find things that we lost (pretty much something everyday). The third morning there we had lost our digital camera, but a quick trip to the lobby and sure enough someone had turned it in!!! Needless to say it rarely left our side for the rest of the trip! And then Philip’s hat and red wig and shoes, of which the red wig was the only thing that we found.

This place just gets better! Most of the staff that we knew from last year recognized us right away and some even remembered our names. The reception was like we had just found old friends again. Such a wonderful feeling, when one by one the “bar” girls – Ann Marie, Nola Suzette and Antoinette dashed out of the bar area when they saw me and gave me a warm hug!!! It felt like home. These girls are the heart of the nude side. Nola is the “roaming” waitress who will wade out in the ocean to give you a drink if she has to and the others keep the partiers at the pool and grill area well taken care of. Just remember, they are busy sometimes – give them a chance to get to you and they will. If these ladies worked in bars in the states they would make a small fortune in tips alone!!

Saturday and Sunday were the days that a lot of our Trouble Tribe was coming, so we tried to figure out their arrival times and by sheer luck more than anything we met two couples at the lobby as they got off the bus, others we discovered around the property until we were a real “group”.  I would certainly recommend to anyone going to try and make contacts before you go. It was so great having so much company. I know that we dominated some of the games, especially on the nude side and we were usually the ones doing the most outrageous things.  A whole bunch of us showed up for Battle of the Sexes night and had such a blast!!! Three out of four participants at the talent show were Trouble Tribe members. Yours truly Philip was the male stripper; Catherine was the singer and Randy was dragged screaming on stage by a lady that wanted him to pour water over her naked body and vice versa!!! Poor guy. We all won a whole bunch of Hedo bucks and thankfully you can now get Superclubs t-shirts for a cool million, so we ended up with two shirts and a few bottles of rum (although Philip lost another one somewhere after the guys won battle of the sexes.)

We cannot say enough about the staff. Get to know them – shake their hands and introduce yourselves, use their names when you talk to them. Say “Please” & “Thank you” This makes such a difference. The entertainment staff has to put up with a tremendous amount of nonsense from us. Oil wrestling was about to begin at the nude beach, but Sean had forgotten the oil so he asked us to wait while he went to get some. Well, what an opportunity for a captive audience to be led chanting over to the prude slide for an afternoon run down the “Slide”. Make sure that you do the slide naked in the middle of the afternoon; it’s the best time to do it!

He probably wondered where we had all gone, but we finally got back to the nude side and continued with the wrestling and had a great time. These guys have to work very hard and sometimes it must be difficult to get people motivated to participate, but they rarely stop trying. If you go, do them and yourselves a favor – join in. You and everyone else will have a great time, trust me. . I don’t know how they do it. Crazy Sean, Carol, Sly, Debbie, Romeo, Kenny, Teddy Bear, Foxy, Q – thank you all for your efforts.

Having a booked resort probably helps a lot in getting the activities going – most all events except bare as you dare were well attended. It is a shame that they wait until 11.30 to have P.J. and Bare as you dare and then it is in the disco, I would much prefer all events to be in the main dining and stage area, but then some people might be offended. Disco is small and can be cold as well, but it can get hopping after midnight, so maybe this is just me. Toga night is great because everyone is paraded around and then the contest is on stage with judges selected from the audience. Makes for a lot more fun because you have an actual audience in the people that decided not to join in. Anyway, it’s all a blast wherever they have it.

The members of the “Trouble Tribe” certainly made this vacation as good as our last, better from the standpoint of having more friends and from having lots of others willing to participate in events and games. Admittedly Jane & I often “went missing” later at night and did not always finish off the activities with the rest of them, but- we were on our honeymoon and need time together (otherwise Jane would disown me) and we knew that our fellow revelers would keep the place hopping.  I need to mention these guys - if you ever want a good time, look them up. Betsi & Mike provided the t-shirts and every time there was an opportunity to eat “cookies” from someone’s body – Mike was right there. Jean & Randy were always in the middle of some game and I had the privilege of sipping beer from Jean one afternoon (I got the left one and Randy got the right one!). Julie & Rich – our first night they had dinner with us- thanks guys it really made us comfortable and keep practicing the “body shots”. Bill & Joanne - what a cute couple – Bill almost beat me out of the Mr. Wet shorts title and Joanne I don’t think I have ever seen someone laugh as much as you did! Mike & Annette – our newlyweds. They thought they were going to have a quiet wedding at Hedo III and then they joined our group! We wish you total happiness forever. Craig & Catherine- never ventured without clothes before, but boy after the first day they were Hedo Vets!!! After that Catherine took over the piano bar and nude hot tub late at night (or so rumors went) Jack & Sherri – late arrivals, but they fit right in and nobody laughed at Jack when he took his clothes of!!!! Shawn & Ivona – glad that you found us and that you did not talk your travel agent into changing your destination from Hedo III. We would have missed you. Wish we had more time to visit with Bob & Eileen, but they had to leave just a s we got there.  Jane, my wonderful wife had managed to shake off her inhibitions from the last trip and jumped into all the games and activities with both feet and she had a blast. You should see her face in some of the pictures – total joy!!! We lasted the 7 nights and I think that I only got locked out of the room twice!!! Not bad, I must be improving. We are still married.

The food was great and so was the service, but again talk to the wait staff by name, smile at them, say please and thank you and they will do just about anything for you. I made it a point to always tell them that I appreciated them. Try not to be in a hurry, as that does not work in Jamaica. Pastafari was great but one night 12 of us went to dinner and that is a lot for them to handle at one time. The food was great but it took forever to get there!! This did not stop us from having a good time, however and we got to drink more wine while waiting, so everything has a purpose. The nude grill is a wonderful place for lunch and The Scotch Bonnet is open from late morning till 7pm in case you just have to have some jerk chicken! We did not get to Munahana this time – our loss. The gals at the main dining took care of us whenever we were there. Carol; Allison; Alecia – always a smile always polite and attentive.

One afternoon we took our group picture, first with our club t-shirts on and then bent over and spelling out Hedo III Trouble Tribe on our butts. Typical resort stuff, but what a blast!! We will all remember these times and cherish them forever. We have already talked with other members of the club about a reunion next February and hope that it will happen. There is something about Hedo III that makes you want to go back. It’s a combination of the place, the fun, the staff and the friends that you make; it’s contagious. I am sure that whenever we go again we will have a lot of fun and do a lot of outrageous things, for after all the word Hedonism means  “Pursuit of or devotion to pleasure, especially to the pleasures of the senses”

We had fun with so many people and I know I will forget some, but here goes. Tim from Seattle- made me feel like I was the craziest guy there! Penny & Candy – you girls were such fun. Thanks for the “show” Candy – you made a great Miss Nude Hedo III. And of course we have to remember Bob & Mikey- never really connected too much with you guys although Jane does remember taking Mikey to our room on Toga night to tie his Toga for him!! (Our Honeymoon!!). Betty & Al – don’t forget Paul Simon’s song about you; Walter; Mark & Deb who are now in our group; Julie and the lady from Canada who helped Jane & Jean bring me to my knees in the oil wrestling. All of you made the trip special and you will be remembered. Thanks a lot. There were so many people that we talked with and all of them were wonderful. If we could meet them all again next year at the same time- we most certainly would. If we forgot you it is only in name not in memory.

If you are considering a trip to Hedo III our advice is go and then go again and again. It will eventually be like Hedo II where groups go back year after year and the entertainment becomes the guests and the guests make all the fun and if you join in you have a blast and if you like to watch you have a blast. This resort has something for everyone, but if you want to be a little wicked and outrageous then you must visit Hedo III. There are no age barriers or appearance barriers at Hedo III, you are accepted, period. Young, old; hard body and soft – it all mingles into a bunch of folks having a wonderful time. We are already planning our third trip later this year, can’t wait to get back.
