Mick & Mrs. - 06/01
We were in Hedo III from 6/6-6/12. It was a
great trip. One of the things that made it so good was finding Denny's site
about a week before we left. We went to the Visitor List area and e-mailed a
number of couples that would be there at the same time. Everyone on them
e-mailed us back. That gave us a head start on meeting people there. We also
got a lot of information reading the trip reports and what to bring and what
to expect. One couple wrote back and invited us to join the Hedoinjune club on
Yahoo. This turned out to be the Cave Dwellers and gave us even more
information and friends. We stongly suggest you contact people before you go,
especially if you are first-timers.
Pack light. We each had one carry-on suitcase and we still
brought too much. If you can carry-on, it sure helps getting through
immigration and customs in a hurry while everyone else is claiming baggage.
The flight from New Orleans thru Miami to Mobay on American was
fine with one small delay in Miami. The bus ride we heard so much about was
not much worse than riding on our terrible New Orleans streets. We met a
couple from Fla on the bus that had spent 3 days at Hedo II and were going to
spend the next 3 days at III for comparison. Talking to Steve & Tammy made
the ride pleasant.
Check-in was a breeze. We were assigned bldg # 7 (room 731).
The desk clerk did ask us if we would be offended by nudity since that was on
the nude side. After we stopped laughing, we assured him that would not be a
problem. The room was great. I am sure you have read discriptions of the rooms
in other trip reports. They live up to the billing. They are great. The window
by the whirlpool bath/shower does have a pull-down shade but just forget it is
there. The show put on by individuals, couples & more in the windows is
part of the Hedo experience. Besides, you will have seen all of everyone
anyway.
We got a break on the weather. Hot and sunny every day we were
there. Perfect weather for hanging out at the nude pool, which is pretty much
where we stayed.
The food was good but not great. I assure we were not there for
a gourmet dining experience anyway. Decide which nights you want to go to
Pastafari's & Munahana and make reservations when you arrive. The main
buffet will do, the beach party food was fine, lunch at the Scotch Bonnet was
good (say hello to Nola), and ordering something at the grill at the swim up
bar at the nude pool in very convenient. That way you don't have to put on
clothes to go eat.
All of the staff is wonderful, especially Suzette & Anne
Marie at the nude pool. They will quickly know your name and favorite drink.
Everyone works very hard to make your trip enjoyable.
Everyone says that it is the people you are with that make the
trip. That is so true. Besides the couples we corresponded with we were lucky
enough to have two large groups there at the same time. .one, the Bubbly
Bares, at the beginning of our trip and the Cave Dwellers at the end. On our
first full day the Bubbly Bares adopted us and really made us feel at home.
The day they had a champagne party for the whole nude pool is a classic. They
opened 40 bottles of champagne and poured for all. I still blame Howard for my
sunburn. I burn easily, but I just had the venture to the table at the other
end of the pool where he had female volunteers to lie on the table while he
poured champagne and dirty bannanas on them and other ladies licked it off.
Tammy, it will ever be fixed in my memory. About the time they left, the Cave
Dwellers arrived and kicked up the action a notch. Phillip, you and Miss Jane
are great organizers. We made too many new friends to mention them all but
special wishes to Bob & Cassandra, Ed & Terri, Gary & Beth and my
New Orleans neighbor David & his lady Rene. Even a big hug to our token
single guy, Jay. These and more are friends now and we hope to see (pun very
much intended) them again.
A film crew was there filming a Showtime special "Wiked
for a Week". We got to know them and they were fantastic. The day they
were filming at the nude pool, they all got naked right along with us while
they were filming. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Do get involved in the activities and theme nights. No one gets
embarrased and it makes for more fun. My lady is really into costumes (she
makes them) and we dress up a lot here in New Orleans. It is a lot more fun
when everyone participates. The games at the nude pool at a riot. Jeffrey
(that's my lady-guys name but all woman) is a scuba diver. She went on 7 dives
in 4 days, including 1 night dive, a had a ball.
The nude pool and hot tub are where most of the action is. I
don't understand why anyone would pay to come to either Hedo and stay on the
prude side. There are other all-inclusives for that. The area was always busy
from mid-morning to sunrise the next morning. The pool, hot tub and beach are
rather small but not so small that you can't enjoy yourself. The sights, day
or night, are something to behold. Everyone was very friendly and made you
feel at home. People that were hesitant about taking it off in public soon
came to feel comfortable in the surroungings. The only negative was the day
about a dozen teen-age (recent high school graduates from Colorado) showed up
at the pool. There were there on a day pass and were staing in the area. The
boys were drunk and rude. Great restraint Suzette for not hitting one or two
of them with your blender. Every time a couple (Cowboy & Candy for
instance) would slip into the cave, they would hover around it like bees
around honey. You would thing they had never seen anything like that before,
which I am sure they hadn't.
The question everyone reads these reports to find out. Is there
sexual activity going on? Is there sex in the pool during the day? Yes. Is
there sex in the pool/hot tub at night? Even more so. Do people go to their
rooms for 3somes, 4somes, & moresomes. You bet. Even though all of this is
going on, it is not pushed into your face. In Hedo III, as it is everywhere,
No means no. Everyone was very respectful and having a good time. I don't know
of anyone being offended. Certainly not us.
All too soon it was time to leave. Bummer. We had a 7:00am
flight so the bus picked us up at 4:00am. Double bummer. We strolled down to
the hot tub at 3:45 for a last drink and to say goodby to friends that were
still there partying. As a goodbye gesture one guy (who will remain nameless)
put his lady (who will also remain nameless) on the swim up bar, poured a
dirty banana all over her front. He started licking everything below the waist
while two lovely ladies did the same thing for everything above. It is the
picture we took with us as we left. Thanks guys.
We will go back. We are already looking at dates for next
spring or summer. Go, relax, and have fun.
