John & Carol - November, 2001

Hedonism III November 14-18, 2001 from Carol & John

We had a wonderful vacation at Hedonism III.

Day 1, Wednesday. The plane trip was ontime from Baltimore and there were no problems. The bus ride was actually quite pleasant and not the scary/bumpy experience that others have described. Perhaps, we just had a good driver. After arriving we checked in and our room was ready immediately. The room was quite nice and we were given a free upgrade. We had no view to speak of however; instead we looked over the outside edge of the property and could mostly just see "Ganja" dealers selling their wares. We would have preferred to see the pool or beach. After settling in, we went to the trapeze. I gave it a try. It was fun, and I would do it again. After all, this is a vacation for trying new things. Wednesday night was supposed to feature dinner on the beach; however, it started raining just as dinner was served so everything was moved inside. Later Wednesday night we went to the piano bar and "bare as you dare" night at the disco. Carol's outfit was quite revealing, but she looked like a choir girl compared to some of the others. It was dark in there so it took us awhile to realize that some of the "bikinis" worn by some of the women were simply painted on and that they were actually wearing nothing. Needless to say the disco was fun.

Day 2 Thursday. We divided the day between the morning on the nude pool side and the afternoon shopping in Ocho Rios. The evening was toga night. This turned out to be a disappointment. Too much time was wasted on a best/worst/sexiest toga competition and not enough time was spent dancing. While it started well, people drifted away as the contest dragged on. We ended up going to the nude hot tub for awhile.

Day 3 Friday. We spent most of the day at the nude pool/beach. We also went snorkeling. While snorkeling was fun, there were actually few fish to see and the reef is somewhat beat up. In the evening it was masquerade night. I dressed as a pirate and Carol as a harem girl. Many of the other costumes were quite wild and the dancing in the disco often simulated sex. Many women were dancing on top of the bar. Playboy hosted a Wet Tshirt competiiton that was quite raunchy.

Day 4 Saturday. We went out on a kayak along the water's edge. At one point we took the glass bottom boat tour but the sea was so rough that it was hard to see anything. We hit a wave and one of the glass panes broke. Nobody was injured. At night, Playboy hosted a strip off competition. Unfortunately, they recruited women from outside of the resort for the competition. While these women were beautiful; in fact most were models, it really took away from the event by not focusing on guests. In fact, some of the guests who had planned to enter the contest, backed out because they did not feel comfortable next to the models. Don't get me wrong. I love seeing naked models, but I would have preferred a competition for guests only.

Day 5 Sunday. It rained all morning. It cleared up only about 2 hours before we had to leave. The bus ride back to the airport was not as pleasant. We were stuck in a backup due to an accident and our driver was not very smooth. After getting to the airport, we found that our plane would be late. It kept getting pushed back and did not actually go up until about 2 hours late.

Miscellaneous. The water slide is among the best/fastest I've ever ridden. The pool table in the pool is impossible to play. The pool table is really just for show. We did not see nearly as many PDA's as many of the other trip reports indicate. Perhaps we were in the wrong places or this was just a less public minded crowd. In conclusion, it was one of the best vacations ever, and we would do it again.
