George & Cathleen - 02/01

Stayed at Hedo III from 2/3/01 - 2/7/01.  We booked a Super Surpise Plus
through SuperClubs and split the week in a 4 day and 3 day increment.  Our
first stop was at Hedo III with the second being Grand Lido Negril.  What a
wonderful combination.

Hedo III was a pleasant surprise.  The room accomodations there were great
and the staff was the most pleasant.  Service with a smile, always.  I will
say that I felt the service and restaurants were better than at GLN.  O'Neil
at Pastafari excellent!

We were booked in an oceanview room in building 5.  It was nice, however
after going for a walk on the grounds and heard the waves crashing on the
rocks from the ocean, we asked to see if we could move to building 8.  They
were wonderful in accomodating us.

The move was great, our room was close to the ocean, and we had the windows
open at all times and enjoyed sleeping to the sounds of the waves crashing at
night, and taking a jacuzzi, overlooking the carribbean.  I brought along
some candles, set them around the tub, and must say it was one of mine (our)
best bathing experiences :)

We are not swingers, so the rooms in building 8 were perfect for us, I really
didn't want to look at a bunch of naked people all the time, but preferred to
look at the beauty, palm trees and ocean of the carribean.  After all it was
just a few short steps to the nude area.

We stayed in the nude area during the day, enjoying laying out on the pier or
around the pool.  The beach there is not to great, but adequate enough.
There were some games going on, it was great to sit at the swim up bar and
order drinks and enjoy lunch.  Only made it to the hot tub late one night,
(sorry but my 40 years are catching up) and it was tough to stay up late
after partying all day.

I heard alot of stores about the hot tub at night, but didn't really see
anything when I was there, just a couple of couples hot tubbing together.
The hot tub at Hedo III has alot to be desired compared to Hedo II.  It is
much too small.  I'm sorry that for a newer resort, they didn't take this
into consideration when they were building it.  The main and quad pools
appeared to be mostly quiet, with the majority of guests in the nude area.
Take a hint, get your towels the night before, and get your chairs early in
the morning.  I know everyone says its rude to be a "chair hog" but if you
can't beat join em cause you will be without if you don't.

The beaches were ok but nothing like the ones in Negril.  Oh but you can't
miss the body shots at the pool, quite entertaining to say the least.

Restaurants, Pastafari was excellent.  If they didn't have what you wanted on
the menu, they would make it for you.  Munahana was excellent too, it was a
great way to meet other couples, sitting around the cooking table.

Went to the disco on Monday night (retro night) and absolutely loved all of
the 70's music they were playing.  They had a good crowd to start with, then
starting playing alot of local type music, then the place sorta cleared out.
They should have waited to start playing that kind of music until later in
the evening, cause the majority of people there were in the 30 - 50 age
group, and certainly enjoyed the 70's music better.

All in all it was a absolutely wonderful time, and a can't finish writing
this, without telling you about my best moment there.  After watching the
sunset at the Scotch Bonnet, we moved to the wedding gazebo, and sat there
and watched a full moon in the sky as the waves crashed below us.  It was one
of my most romantic moments in my life, and probably should have been the
most romantic, but lacked one key element, for me anyways.

To sum it up it was wonderful, would I go back, yes.  But my heart belongs in
Negril.  I'm a beach person and love the beaches and sunsets there.  To bad
they can't take the Hedo III resort and move it to the Hedo II location.
Then you would have a perfect vacation destination.
