Trip Report
Hedo
Amigos, Hedonism III, 28 Apr - 5 May 2001
Had
a great time on my third trip to Hedo III at the end of April.
Prior to the trip, courtesy of Bonnie and Noah I got in touch with the
Hedo Amigos and so had a ready made group friends to meet at the resort.
This is a super idea and I recommend it to all.
I
also recommend bringing down a backpack of books and school supplies.
Got the idea from Dennys board, wasnt hard to carry, and the
front desk folks were very happy when I said, You collect supplies for the
schools dont you, heres some. Considering how many people go through II and III each year,
if we all did that on each trip, no school child in Jamaica would lack for
supplies.
Trip
down was the usual. Flight from
BWI uneventful. The transfer at
Sangster was noteworthy for being the fastest turn-around Ive had in 9
trips. The SuperClubs people
literally had us walking straight from the Customs line to the bus and taking
off for Runaway Bay. Could not
have been more than 8 minutes. I
had to change into shorts in the back of the bus!
Wont
do a day by day. The good things
were:
Kim and Jim, Bonnie and Noah, Chuck and Harriet, Denise and Randy,
Cindy and Rog, Eldad and Sharon, Ellen
and Rob and others I (sadly, Im sorry) cant quite remember.
You were all the finest friends Ive ever partied naked with (you
know what I mean). Also, Max the
dive master, Suzette, Anne-Marie and Serena at the nude bar, Marvelena in the
DR, Chuck on Piano, Crazy Sean, Treasure, Lacy, Tina Turner and of course
Fantasy (especially Fantasy) the coordinators.
Vladimir, Stephanie and the whole Circus crew.
Room in the 300 building on the Quad.
Fine accommodations. Hot
tub crowd noisy till 4 or 5 very night (I mean morning), but the AC unit hum
drowned it out. No problem I can recall from disco noise.
The dives were good, although the reef is showing the effects of lots
of tourists, and the general over-fishing by hungry locals (cant blame
them). The dive boat is
very fast, and since the sites are usually within a quarter mile or less,
there is almost no waiting to get from dock to reef.
The nude pool volleyball games, especially when Sharon served!!
Kim, youre secretly related to Gabrielle Reece arent you?
A sex swing was up most evenings at the nude pool (was still up in the
mornings anyway). The sex police
stopped one couple from initiating it at 3:30 in the afternoon the first day.
After that it seemed to go up in the evening and come down again
shortly after sunrise. Truth or
Dare took place, numerous body shots and some other PDAs (I usually excused
myself when that started up).
The trapeze was a rush as always, the most fun you can have with pants
on! The group of
(From my perspective) young athletes who learned flight, catch and
return did super. The show was
especially enjoyable because I had practiced with them and knew how hard they
had worked to be able to pull off their stunts.
Stephanie is the second most awesome woman there.
PJ night, almost the whole nude beach group was present in PJs, and
about 4 token couples from the prude side.
Toga night was well attended, though some did show up in street
clothes. Ellen, congrats on
winning best female toga! Masquerade night looked like a re-play of PJ night as far as
participants went. Ellen was the
best Belly-Dancer (in my humble opinion).
The karaoke nights were well attended, with Ramona and Looann both
singing beautifully. Ramona, I
think was the Debbie Harry sound alike on Heart of Glass, a great
number. Piano bar was also a lot
of fun, although not so many people seemed to be getting into singing.
The food at Pastafari and Munahana was excellent.
Scotch Bonnets jerk chicken and pork were also great.
I only took dinner in the DR once.
Not bad, but not exceptional. Breakfasts
there were always good though.
Scotch Bonnet and nude grill for all lunches who could need more?
Kim, on behalf of all the guys we stacked the crowd with for Miss Nude
Hedonism, let me apologize again for clapping at the wrong time.
You should have won first place. What
can I say, were guys, we dont follow directions.
You were the life of the party all week, my dear.
Jim you are one lucky SOB.
What was not so good?
Tried to get people on the bus talking during the trip out, no one
responded. All first time couples
so they were probably just wondering who the crazy single guy was.
About half the crowd at the nude pool seemed intent on doing nothing
but cluster up and talk to each other, the ladies avoided getting there makeup
wet and the guys although seeming fit, never attempted to join the volleyball
games. One even tried to through
the ball into the ocean once when it splashed near him.
Real mature behavior there! Later
in the week Crazy Sean tried mightily but couldnt get any of this bunch
involved in games, a real downer in my book.
If you have no spirit the best ECs wont be able to get
things going; the guests have to play along too.
Those of us who did had a marvelous time.
The rest of you know who you are.
Same remark for the piano bar. Chuck
was playing and singing his heart out, and there were people literally trying
to talk over him. No requests, no
volunteering to sing. If you dont
want to play along, why be in the piano bar?
Hang out at the Main bar and drink, and you can talk without having to
shout over the guy at the piano.
Quad pool bar closes way too early.
You can make drink runs to the nude pool bar (I made two one evening to
general acclaim) but it seems they could keep the quad bar open.
If they think it keeps noise down, they are wrong, so why inconvenience
everyone?
Overall:
All told a marvelous vacation, and Im looking forward to the next
one. (First timers, you need to
loosen up earlier. Some nights I could sense folks were just this close to
really getting wild, but not quite.)
Demographics note, Im a 48 year old single male, have always visited
single and had a good time. I
think the couples I hung with enjoyed the company, and no, I didnt get
involved with anyone this trip. I
do plan to bring a girlfriend in future, as the single male: single female
ratio was 4:0 on the nude side and about 4:1 on the prude side.
