Trip Report – 6/9/01-6/16/02

The Preparation

We are beginning our trip report with “preparation” because preparing before our trip is what we believe made our Hedo III experience such a wonderful one!  We wanted to share our preparations with those planning trips to give some extra ideas for making the trip a really great experience!  Thanks to Denny’s visitor list, we were contacted by Philip and Jane to join their Yahoo Club for those going to Hedo around the same time.  We cannot reiterate how important it is to meet people via the internet and form bonds as soon as possible.  The Yahoo Club is a wonderful idea and was a great place to get to know each other, exchange ideas, post pictures, answer questions, and most of all….to generate a ton of excitement before your trip!  With lots of participation from all members, we chose a club name, the now famous ‘Cave Dwellers’, and a logo and from there had temporary tattoos printed up.  We also posted arrival dates on the calendar, lots of pics in the photo album, planned group dinners at the restaurants, planned a “gift” exchange,  had regular chat sessions, contests, and so much fun.  Before we even got to Hedo, we felt as though we had known many of the club members for years.  Everyone always writes that the fun at Hedo 3 is determined by the crowd attending that week.  Everyone wants to go to Hedo to have fun, so get your crowd together early.  There is always a ring leader or two or three in a group who will help to take the lead to keep things as fun and crazy as possible while at Hedo, so by organizing early you’ll be certain to bring someone out of their shell.  We were blessed to have Philip as our leader, and my normally tame husband wasn’t too far behind him.

The Trip

Uneventful flight, same ole same ole, but again because of pre-planning, we knew other couples who would be arriving around the same time as us.  It was wonderful to meet at the Superclubs desk with many of us wearing shirts with the Cave Dweller logo on it!  Easy to spot everyone and hugs were exchanged right away.  Bus trip was fine, ‘King’, our driver was wonderful and highlighted the sights along the way to the resort.

The Resort

Very, very nice!  We were not disappointed with anything!  The rooms were wonderful, and yes the mirror over the bed and Jacuzzi tub are lots of fun.  We were in building 7, first floor, which made traveling to the nude pool and beach a breeze since it is designated as “nude” area!  The staff was incredible!  Suzette and Anne Marie, we love you, and everyone else at the nude bar are the greatest!  We never seemed to wait long for any service, however we did have that slow Jamaican mode going and we think this is very, very, important for all to remember!  The entertainment staff is beyond belief.  We can’t believe the hours they put in and the energy they provide.  Romeo, Teddy, Fantasy, Lacy, and others that we have forgotten names, are all incredible.  We enjoyed all the food and all the restaurants, and if you can make it to breakfast you won’t regret it!

The Nude Side

It was our first trip to either Hedo’s and of course, we had our reservations.  We can’t believe how deliciously perfect it really is.  We had never been to a “nude” optional resort before and were definitely worried about dropping our drawers!  What you have read is right…..it only takes a few minutes to be comfortably nude for the rest of your trip!  For those planning to go to the nude side, do it as soon as possible!  No sense in wasting time.  We never went to the prude side, and we guess if you are looking for a more laid back vacation that you can enjoy that on the prude side, but we are here to tell you that if you are looking for a fantastic party…..go to the nude side!  And the week we were there, we saw many different ages, 20’s through ??????, and many different body types.  But beware, if you are looking to go to Hedo to hang out on the nude side with all young, and society’s definition of ‘perfect’ bodies, you will be disappointed.  We never went with that expectation but heard comments from a very select few that were totally ‘turned off’.  Yes, there were many “perfect” bodies there, but also many “not so perfect” and many, many different age groups.  I personally believe that everyone on the nude side was beautiful as long as they were comfortable with who they were.  To the people out there who think they have perfect bodies and are “disgusted” by older “out of shape” people…..remember, age changes us all.  It’s inevitable and you will be there some day.  I don’t mean to harp on this, as there were many lovely, attractive young people at the nude side who had a wonderful time and as long as newbies are in the Hedo state of mind, and not the ‘only want to see perfect bodies’ state of mind, then all can be one big happy family.  And we are in our mid 30’s so these comments are not coming from being way up there in age, but we did hear some comments from a very “few” younger folks that really made me want to put them over my knee and give them a good spankin!  Variety makes the world go round!

The Sex & Games

Oh yes, there was sex.  We never found the nude pool to be as much sexy as it was just a whole, whole, whole bunch of fun.  But the whole Hedo resort is sexy so you can be as sexy as you want.

Is it probable that you’ll see huge orgies in the middle of the nude pool during the day?  No.  (Although you may see some small ones at night!).  Were the body shots and games at the pool a sexual turn on?  Not to us, again just a ton of fun.  We found the games to be a blast and recommend them to everyone.  We participated in many games that we never expected we would and it was soooo much fun.  Yes, gentleman, I am the lady who demonstrated how to give a perfect ….I better leave it at that, wink wink.  I giggled like a school girl for days after that as never in a million years did I think I had it in me to do something like that in front of all of those people!  If my mother only knew!  Then there was my husband running around the pool naked with a lady chasing…better leave that one at that too!  LOL, still makes me smile.  My husband and I enjoyed applying our Cave Dweller temporary tattoos to all new Cave Dweller recruits as well as applying fresh ones to the vets on a daily basis.  Hubby had that one planned out right, what better way to get to touch just about every breast at Hedo!  But lol, I had no complaints with applying to the men’s rear ends either!  We really recommend getting involved in as many games as possible, both the day activities and the night activities (battle of the sex’s, beach games, talent night, etc.)  Oh and the slide!!!!  Yes, a huge group of people running to the slide naked in the afternoon is wonderful.  It’s a must do! The staff is always waiting on you with towels after doing the slide nude asking you to please cover yourself! Our goal was to go down the slide enough times in a row for the staff to run out of fresh towels!  And the day the moon bounce thing was set up, us ladies and Philip had a blast jumping in it on our way back from the slide, still nude of course!  You can set whatever limitations you are comfortable with.  Playing with other couples, threesomes, foursomes, lotsomes, it’s all available.  Or just enjoying your spouse in new and incredible ways!  It’s Hedo, it’s all up to you.  Go with no expectations and just take things an hour at a time!

The People and The Energy

Again, being part of a group before we arrived just made our Hedo trip so much better!  It was great being a part of a family and our Cave Dweller family consisted of all age groups, lifestylers and non-lifestylers, different ethnic groups, different political groups, from all over the country.  We truly believe for the most that everyone was comfortable with each other and grew very fond of each other.  It was like a big family reunion…..all family members have unique personalities but always have a great time when they get together.  The first day we arrived, our room was not ready and we began chatting with a young couple (early 20’s), Dawn & Eddie at the main bar and we asked them if they were nude or prude.  They explained that they were prudes but stated that they may try the nude side on their last day.  Unfortunately, the young man got a bad case of the stomach flu and was stuck in his room for a while.  We and other Cave Dwellers took Dawn under our wing and made sure she had dinner company, etc., and our family of Cave Dwellers offered Eddie everything from Pepto to Alka-Seltzer and anti-biotics to gonja to aid him in getting back on his feet asap.  The minute the young man felt better, he &  Dawn took the plunge to the nude side!  They spent the last several days of their vacation on the nude side and kept telling us how much more fun they had there.  Nine of us renewed our vows as a group, (by the way, one of the highlights of our trip – we agreed to renew our vows with the rest just for the fun of it, never realizing how much emotion would stir from it!  Heck, we were still in the nude pool 15 minutes before the ceremony was to take place.  WOW!  Tears streaming down both of our faces, as well as the faces of the other couples, during the beautiful ceremony.  What a wonderful place to renew your vows, love, and commitment to your marriage and partner!)  Anyway, our new young friends attended the ceremony and took pictures for us.  He proposed to her that night, ring and all…..sends chills, doesn’t it!  So, to Dawn & Eddie, we love you, we are so happy for you, we are so happy to have met you, and the best wish we can give you is that the happiness in your life as husband and wife is as rich as the happiness as we have as husband and wife!  Will you honeymoon in Hedo??????

Advice

If you are very comfortable in your relationship with your significant other and can agree to abiding by limits set by both partners.  If you are able to accept all different types of people [not necessarily agree with, but accept].  If you want to truly be wicked (and yes, we all have our own degree’s of wickedness so what I consider being wicked may not be what another considers wicked but all is ok!) for a week and are cool with others being wicked too, whatever their age, looks, size, nationality, limits, etc. THEN HEDO III IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!!!  Go! Go!  Wish we would have started going years ago and we are already planning next years trip!  We came home with a whole new zest for life, a renewed spirit, a better relationship [and we already thought we had the perfect marriage!], and memories of our younger days when life wasn’t so complicated!   We will allow Hedonism to take us away one week [hoping for more] every year from now on!   Heck, we were still tattooing people on the bus on the way back to the airport and my husband and I high fived each other when we heard our names announced over the airport intercom “last call for McKenzie’’!!!

Special Thanks & Friends

Of course with a group as big as ours, we can’t even begin to thank and note everyone.  But to Philip and Jane, thank you for showing us the Hedo way, thank you for your friendship, thank you for showing us that it is really is wonderful to be outrageous once in a while, thank you for being our mentors, and thanks for offering to pay for our Hedo trips throughout the years [ok, ok, I had to get a funny in there, my eyes were swelling up!].  If anyone ever gets the chance to travel when Philip and Jane are traveling, do it!  They are a most incredible couple and most incredible people!  Genuine and real!  DeAnn & Russell, I have no doubt that the bond formed between us will continue to flourish our friendship for years.  Still missing Russell’s shxt eatin’ grin!  Pam & Mike, you guys are wonderful and we so enjoyed your company!  Can’t wait to see you again next year.  Jordan & Christina, our honeymooners, thanks for sharing your honeymoon with us and accepting us older’ folks just the way we are.  Patti & Jim, you are a hoot!  We still smile when we think of some of the outrageous things you did!  Judy, we still see you enjoying the “pick your hubby” blindfolded contest.  Wade & Cuevas, the newest official Cave Dwellers who we certainly expect to travel with us again next year, thanks for the great company, the pictures (lol), and the fun.  Wish we would have met you earlier but better late than never!  Jack & Mo, loved the jokes and the piano bar singing.  Deb & Dave, “how do you do”!!  Gina & Rick (thanks for the light up toys each night), Dave & Brendalee, Dave & Kerri, and to all the other Cave Dwellers who were with us all week, and you know who you are, thanks for making our trip so fantastic.  We truly can’t wait to see you all again next year and the year after and the year after.  Each one of you truly touched us in a special way and we haven’t laughed so hard in years!  So sorry to those Cave Dwellers who’s vacation over lapped ours and we didn’t get to spend much time with, John & Takina, Dave & Lynda (thanks for the beautiful picture frame), Stephanie & Michael, Jeff & Tina, Dave & Denise, and all the rest…. next year we’ll all get it right and travel together.  And to all the new friends we made that weren’t Cave Dwellers when they arrived, but became Cave Dwellers as soon as my hubby tattooed your breast or I tattooed your rear, thanks for joining our group, please join the club and come back with us next year!  And to anyone reading this who wants to ask any questions or join the Cave Dwellers next year…..feel free to email us!

Our final thought……Hedo is the most fun you can have with your clothes off!!!!!!!
