Dennis & Donna - 01/01

My wife & I were at Hedo III 1/30-2/5. This was our 5th trip to Jamaica but our 1st trip to Hedo III. We are 39 & 41 years old. We were at Hedo II in September 2000.

We will not bore you with the flight details but I will say that by traveling mid week we never had to wait in line at any airport for anything. We were the first in line @ Immigration and Customs. The bus ride over to the resort took 1.5 hrs because our driver said he was a safe driver instead of a fast driver. We encountered several cows and goats in the road on the trip over. The bus ride from the resort to the airport only took 1 hour on our return home.

We arrived at the resort about 3:30 and our room was ready, it took about 5 minutes to fill out the papers and get registered. We were promptly escorted to our room on the 3rd floor of Building 800. Our room was GREAT. It almost compared with a room at Sandals. King Size Bed, w/ high ceiling & mirror, love seat in front of a nice big bay window, desk, dresser, closet w/ (2) safes, nice bathroom w/ Jacuzzi tub w/ mirror over, Bottle of Champagne & Fresh Flower arrangement courtesy of Go Classy, and a TV mounted on the ceiling.

Enough about the room. The Resort was beautiful!! Smaller that Hedo II but new & colorful. Nice game room w/ new pool tables, ping-pong, big screen TV, tables to sit & read, games to play and a nicely furnished fitness center. There was a larger area for sunning on the prude side with a decent sized beach containing the circus stuff and watersports. Big pool w/ a pool table and volleyball net. Basketball court in the center of the resort.

The Nude side was much smaller than at Hedo II. The Hot tub, pool area were together along with a bar/grill. The beach area was small with a wooden pier w/ many chairs flanking each side and a rock jetty closing it in.

Restaurants:

Scotch Bonnet was where we usually had lunch. Nice open air restaurant alongside the ocean serving burgers, jerk chicken/pork, salads, fries, etc.. All meals here were very good and the scenery was beautiful. Excellent place to watch the sunset with waves splashing up on the rocks.

Pastafaries: Italian where you need reservations. We had dinner there twice and the food and service was about the best you can expect in Jamaica. Try the pizza as an appetizer.

Munahana: Japanese where you need reservations: We had dinner there once and the service and food was excellent. You are seated around the grill in groups of eight.

Tropical Terrace: This was the Main Dining Room w/ a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Very nice open building with nice tables and service was good. This is where the stage is located for the shows.

Piano Bar: On the second floor with plenty of nice seating and a large bar. The piano player was VERY good. This is also where they have Karaoke.

Disco: Nice disco on the 2nd floor with a decent sized bar, patio & bar outside. There was a cage for dancing ("d" and "c", go girls!). The waterslide comes through the disco and every once in a while you will see someone's naked white ass whiz by. There was a glass bottomed Hot tub outside the disco that was usually nude at night.

Grounds: Beautifully maintained, music playing in the outside speakers at night, hammocks strategically located, several gazebos.

The Quad area pool was HUGE with it's own hot tub. We didn't spend any time over there. This is where the gift shop is located.

Complaint: Could not keep the water temperature anywhere near normal in the hot tubs. Either cold or scalding.

Overall: Hedo III is VERY NICE. The grounds are beautiful, rooms are very nice, service is better than at Hedo II. We seemed to be about the average age at this resort.

COMPARISON TO HEDO II.

The beach was smaller @ Hedo III but there were no rocks in the water so you can walk easier in the ocean, there was bar service on the beach most days. Plenty of shade if you could get someone to grab a chair for you early (THANK YOU "C"!). Bigger selection of food at Hedo III but.....

Hedo II is a party place, You saw much more PDA (sex) at Hedo II. You are more comfortable w/ the nude thing at Hedo II because of the layout. The Hot tub @ Hedo II is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!. Suggestion: If the nude thing is scary for you then maybe try Hedo III first but if you want to really let your hair down HEAD FOR THE ZOO!

I did not write a report about Hedo II but my suggestions would be: FIX THE DAMN SHOWERS and keep the bar open on the nude side at night. Otherwise: We love that f!#$ing place, it changed our life.
